Quick Q's

Just a couple of random, quick questions :)

1. Has anyone used Tribulus Terrestris (it increases a certain type of hormone in the body which then increases Testosterone, resulting in increased muscle growth) - just wondering if anybodys used it as a supplement, iv just incorporated into my diet recently (last week) i take 6 capsules daily for 2 weeks and cycle off for 1 week then repeat. Anyone seen pleasing results with this supplement or what?

2. Do any of you eat '****' food sometimes (e.g. McDonalds etc), i know the healthy fats are more ideal for a bulking diet, but would junk food like that have all that much of a negative effect on optimal muscle growth? Im not saying eating it constantly but a few times a week on top of a good strict diet. Im jus wondering as i do like to treat myself from time to time, would it have a negative effect?

Cheers ppl ;)

I dont know much about the supplement; however, on the diet, one can have a somewhat "dirty" diet and still lose weight---if the almighty caloric limitations are met on a deficit diet:

Dirty v. clean foods in a deficit diet (for example) is misunderstood, although its suggested to eat clean for obvious health reasons---it is NOT 100% required.

And, its the same on a a carefully selected surplus diet, one doesnt have to be 100% clean to get results.

Obviously if your food items eaten are more clean and nutritional dense this would bring UP the "optimum-o-meter" than compared to bad food items.

If the ratio (clean v. bad) food items are good, this will not hurt you in the context we are speaking, but I do believe one ought to strive to eat as clean as possible-------->as the diet is the essential key----to your results.

Yea cheers Chillen, Im trying to eat clean, i do eat clean, its just a couple of times through the week i cannot resist temptation from dirty food.

And if anyone knows about the stated above supplement, let me know how it worked 4 ya. :D

Many "experts" advise "cheating" on your diet 10% of the time. Meaning if you eat 6 meals a day or 42 meals a week, you can and should eat 4 "cheat" meals. It is another way of "confusing" your body, like changing your routine often.

The only problem with eating crap food is that its high in calories and not in volume. You have to eat way less because its so energy dense. Id much rather eat healthy and more of it. Although its not east.

i would like to know who these experts are who say unhealthy food confuses your body and why your body is confused.

The primary "stimulant" that can cause more change is: "Manipulation of caloric content" and not "necessarily" source foods. I say not "necessarily" source foods because one CAN........manipulate carbs......in conjunction with a proper diet and get good results (think kenogetic diet...which is a low carb diet, and can work some differences, for example, when body fat content gets low)

Just some thoughts.

Trib works, but very minimally. It also raises estrogen, which has a whole host of side effects, along with heightened testosterone even endogenous. If you're not older than 25 I wouldn't even look at testosterone or other hormone altering supps for many reasons. If you are lmk, and I'll post some other stuff that'll help.

DW didn't say unhealthy foods. Cheating could be upping your carbs or total calories, which is very effective. Think carb cycling, IMO the best way to stay lean while bulking, and maintain muscle while cutting. It's hard to get right but effective. Albeit only a few percentage your 'metabolism' (damn I hate that word) will slow after enough time spent in a deficit.
