quick bulking question

to maintain I need around 2500 cals. Now if I were bulking, working out about 2-3 hours/week, how much more cals per day do I add to feed the muscle gain, but not go over and gain too much fat?

I forget is it 500 or 300 cals more?

How did you determine that you needed 2500c per day?

One can start out with a +500c over configured calorie maintenance and gauge weight gain results week by week and make adjustments if the gain isnt up to personal standards.

300 or 500 would be good, personally I'd start with 500 over and then take a look after about a month to see how it's going. You won't get fat in just a few weeks but you'll notice if the scales are going up a little too fast.

The key is to play around until you know what works best for your body

I agree with CCR for the most part, but from my point of view (and only because I've always been overweight and my body naturally tries to store more fat when I feed it more) I would start at a 300 calorie surplus, and then gradually give your body more fuel.

Also, you could carb cycle some to help keep unwanted fat off. Be sure that you do have a healthy level of Omega 3's and 6's though, as they help lube your joints and keep your testosterone levels from dropping (like you would see in a low fat diet)
