queston on how much protein a body consumes

Ive been told here that a body consumes about 25 grams of protein.

But how does that go??? Does it depend on how much activity you are doing in one day. Or is taht a set amount of protein a body can consume???

what you just said is a bit ambiguous.

We were saying on another thread that te body can only process a certain amount of protein in one hit. We guessed this was between 25 and 50grams. The rest may be burned for energy, stored as fat, or simpl 'passed' into the toilet!

if you have this amount spread throughout the day, thats a different story, eg. 50g in morning, 50 g at lunch, 50g before bed.

How much protein should we be aiming for daily in order to mainatin muscles and stay healthy? Is there a daily 'protein limit'?

i always try for 1 gram per pound of bodyweight at the least. some have said .8 grams would be sufficient

Would eating over your weight in pounds of protein be dangerous at all? I have heard that too much protein can affect the kidneys as too much can be toxic.

ppl with existing problems need to be careful. some eat 300-400 grams of protein each and everyday. thats crazy.

but if it was dangerous, many would be having problems but thats not the case.

some say per pound of bodyweight, some say per pound of lean bodyweight. the bottom line is about making progress. if you're making progress with a certain amount, theres no need to increase.

in terms of eating beef or meat, how can you tell how many grams your eating. I don't have a scale, I just cut myself a medium slice(or at least close to what I think a medium slice is) and cook that. but I dont know how many grams it is.

i believe the rough way to estimate is like a deck of cards or the palm of your hand is considered roughly 3 ounces which would be about 20-25 grams of protein????

someone please correct if i wrong

again i'm not too sure, but i thought it was if you took a piece of meat and placed it in the palm of your open hand.
