is there a way to gain maximum strength without getting really bulky?

[rephrase] is there a way to gain a lot of strength without gaining a lot of muscle ?
 
imo, gaining fat is one way :]

i'm saying this from, watching Strongman on OLN , guys with potbellies lol, they are very strong!
 
err,, it will mostly be diet, but if you keep in the 1-5 rep range maybe even 1-8.. you shouldnt gain that much size. low reps is for strenght, higher is for size ;) but just watch what you eat!
 
You need to lift at or near your 1RM.
