question on lat pulldowns

hey guys, havent been here in a while. I have question, since school started my mom decided to suspend my gym membership from sept-nov. And i lost 6 lbs of muscle, kinda pissed but anyway i just started going to gym again of nov 1st. I would like to get my back nice and big again but lat pull downs are b**** am i possibly doing them wrong? Should i maybe use a lower weight and focus on going slow and controling my muscles? Any suggestions would be great. thanks
 
well when you pull it down it should be fast, when you let it go up you can do it controlled and slow. Remember to keep your shoulderblades tucked inn. And if you can do pullups, do those instead.
 
Pull ups and bent rows are superior at building mass in your back...Lat pull downs should only be used for a change of pace on rare occasions.
