Question from a guy starting out.

Hey guys how's it going?

I just started cardio on the track the beginning of last month, at least 3 times a week but I don't think that's enough so I want to do some weight lifting. Problem is, between work and classes it's extremely tough to make time for a gym membership. I do however have free-weight at my apartment. 2, 10 pounders and 2, 20 pounders.

Can you guys prescribe me some good free-weight exercises I could do at home to at least gain some muscle mass? Should I buy heavier ones? Any help would be appreciated.
