squats should be working your quads. if you mostly feel it in the hams, its probably because your quads are stronger, so they just aren't getting worked hard enough yet.
i'd double check your form too.
also, look into front squats, which'll change the stress enough to put more emphasis on the quads and a little less on the hams. you'll probably need to drop the weight a bit, front squats take bit of getting used to as far as holding the bar.
