Put that down, fatty!

Right, I have officially sucked. I have made a million diaries on here, I have eaten brown rice for 3 meals a day only to have a giant pizza allllll to myself the day after, I have gone without wine for 2 weeks only to drink 4 bottles in one evening and I have DONE LITERALLY NO EXERCISE.

I am DONE. I am so irritated with myself. I know I can do this. I've done it before. WHY AM I FINDING THIS SO HARD! It's literally just not shoveling shit into the vacuous hole that is my face. Why is it so hard?! :banghead:

Anyway, I'm Hana and I'm furious with myself :piggy: I've been here many, many, many times before and successfully lost over 40lbs about 2 years ago. I then put the whole lot back on again. I'm now 218.5lbs at 5'10. Here's me.

I'm the large manatee-esque creature blocking the lovely scenery. :dupe:

So, after a dream at 2am this morning where I ate my lovely other half, I got straight up and exercised the fuck out of my cross trainer. Yes, I have a cross-trainer. I quit smoking 42 days ago (but who's counting?) so "treated" myself to a cross trainer. I hate it and use it only to hang my washing on. However I dusted off it's cobwebs at 2 this morning and worked out. And I felt AMAZING. I miss feeling healthy and in control on my body.

And so it begins. Doing this before Christmas seems like diet suicide but I'm not one for New Years resolutions. I don't like chocolate so avoiding Christmas temptations should be okay. I work in a Children's Home so will be working most of the holidays anyway!

I woke up this morning and immediately got back on my cross trainer. I am sweating like a pig after 2 minutes so I'm not going mental with it. I can manage about 15 mins on a high setting and working super hard. That's burning around 300 calories for 15 mins. That's a good place to start. My aim is to drink tons of water and black coffee this morning, have brown rice and some ryvitas for lunch and then hop back on for another 15 mins. That'll be 600 calories for the day so I wont feel quite so horrible going out for my work do this evening ;)

Piggy out. :piggy:

Sorry to hear your frustration, but seems like it has turned into mad motivation! Good for you! Hope you manage to eat well today and keep it up over the holidays. Keep doing 600cal workouts and eating well and it'll be melting off in no time!

Glad you are back Sunflower, your post are so great and funny (eating your other half).
You look great in pic....I to am nearly 5.10.
Yet a hundred years older:svengo:

Keep going .....mrs woods for Australia...very hot today.

Thanks my lovelies :)

I had a good day yesterday--ate under 1200 calories but no workout as I was suffering a little after my work-do ;) Spent most of yesterday on the bathroom floor!! I'm just heading off to a 24 hour shift now. I'm working 48 hours out of 72 this weekend! Going to be a very droopy Sunflower by Monday! But then it's nearly Christmas!! :D

Oh for gods sake--HOW MANY TIMES WILL I BE BACK HERE EVEN FATTER.

Right. I've joined Slimming World on Friday. I'm a giant, whale-esque, 15 stone 8.5lbs. Brilliant. Been throwing myself a pity party all weekend but have stuck to plan COMPLETELY. Slimming world is essentially awesome because you get to eat loads.

Today I had!

L: Rice, quorn chicken pieces, tons of veggies with low-salt soy sauce.
D: slow-cooked chicken casserole with tonnnns of veggies and one slice of bread, no butter.
S: low-cal crisps and an apple.

I AM STUFFED. And didn't eat all my "syns" for the day. I'm allowed 15. Which is either 2 glasses of wine or a bar of choccie, etc.

Here's some Christmas photos where I look especially whaley. Must shame myself into NEVER EATING AGAIN. No, I'm joking. NOM NOM NOM..

Right, I'm back to work tomorrow for a late shift which means I can't cook which means NO CONTROL. But, having said that, I can't use that as an excuse anymore. I'll have to eat what I'm allowed (lean meats, veggies, rice, potato, pasta, fruit) with a few syns if dinner is something delicious. Like garlic bread..which I'm no longer allowed. Sigh.

Anyway, wonder if anyone remembers my stupid face. Say hi. I need encouragement! Will do the diary rounds later..Right now it's midnight and I need to get my sleep on.

Piggy out :piggy:

Joining a weightloss group is a positive step. Sorry you aren't pleased with yourself at the moment. I'm in the same boat. Good luck to both of us!

I hope Slimming World works for you! I'm not likely me right now either. Have not lost near what I should have and it's my own fault given my lack of will power with food and exercise. Must change come the new year!

You can do this!

Thanks guys--not pleased with myself at all but the scales are already moving so starting to feel more positive. Need to stop hating my body and start working with it! It wants to be healthy! :p

So yesterday I worked and I didn't eat a load of crap!

B: 3 egg omelette (syn free) with 30g of half-fat cheese (heA)*
L: 2 x apples (syn free)
D: jacket potato with baked beans, no butter or cheese (syn free) 1 sausage (3 syns) big salad.
S: low-cal crisps (4.5 syns) 2 x satsumas.

So I had 7.5/15 syns. Which is super! On Slimming World you're allowed up to 15 syns a day. Things like crisps, non lean meat, processed foods, chocolate, alcohol etc are syns.

*HeA is healthy extra a. This can be a weighed out dairy product like milk for coffee, a small amount of cheese, etc.
HeB is a healthy grain like wholemeal bread, crackers, etc. You're allowed one of each a day.

I managed to avoid the booze when I got home from my shift and I'm sleeping over @ work tonight so no drink tonight either.

I work at a Children's Home for kids without parents that have behavioural problems so tonight is going to be interesting! I believe we may be going to the cinema so I'm going to look up syns in cinema goodies and if they're more than 15 I'll be taking my own snacks with me.

Hi Sunny!
Excellent that your body wants to be healthy, give it what it wants ;D
Have a splendid New Year and a light 2014 :)

Good choice!!!

During my big project I joined both weight watchers and slimming world... It gave me a good opportunity to compare the two programs... The food plan that I was doing fitted in with both programs so I was able to continue doing that and get ideas and motivation from the groups... It was a good opportunity to chatter on about weight with people who were doing similar things...

I have to say that I really liked slimming world... In fact - if you look closely at my avatar it is my SW book from back then with some of the awards that they gave me for my weight loss... My leader presented me with the awards that I had earned before I joined them... LOL my book was covered... You can see it in my album here... :)

I liked the way that the meeting was constructed so that everyone got a turn at being the centre of attention... While some people may find the idea daunting that people would discuss a week of gain - it was supportive more than anything else... It could help to get you back on track... Sometimes people would brainstorm ways of dealing with a predictable problem - like a party... You could be encouraged that others would find situations difficult so you were not being just weak-willed...

I also liked how the SW program pushes you towards healthy food. WW seems to just charge you points and there is no real difference between having a healthy diet and an unhealthy diet... In WW - total points were the bottom line... In SW you tend to be pushed towards building a healthy framework with the main of your food.

As far as the cinema goes - sugar free gum may be an answer. A piece can keep your mouth occupied for a long time and stop you from mindlessly putting something more damaging in... Especially in a situation where other people may be handing round popcorn...

Good luck.

Hey lovelies!

So I avoided the popcorn! Had about a thousand oranges instead!

Yesterday looked like this!

B: Fat-free yog (no syns)
L: Left-over casserole (no syn)
D: 2 vegetarian sausages, jacket potato, beans, salad (no syns)
S: mini-cocktail sausages (4 syns) 5 x oranges (no syns)

So only 4/15 syns and no drinking for NYE because I was at work! Go me!

Although have had 4 hours sleep & no am too tired to make lunch so have not eaten since 8 this morning. Will find some energy soon!

Hope everyone had a fun night and Happy New Year! :D

Hi Han & Happy New Year to you sweets! What are Syns? I figure they must be some sort of points system with SW, but am just guessing. 2014 is going to be an excellent year. I'm not sure that I have ever felt more positive about a new year before, so I'm going to build on it & make sure this year is as good as I can make it. I have tried not to be so hard on myself & it's working. The better I feel about myself the better I treat myself. Instead of telling yourself that you're hopeless & fat, try telling yourself that you're a good person & lovely, because you are! Smile every time you look in the mirror! :) xoxo Cate

Hey Cate :grouphug: Syns are part of the points system. Essentially they are anything naughty. So crisps, choc, cheese, etc is all "synned". Allowed up to 15 a day.

If the scales are looking right today I am in for good news on Friday! I'm going out for drinks with a friend this evening though so need to make sure I don't mess it all up. I made a healthy quorn spag bol last night to have ready for this evening with my own home-made red sauce which is syn free so can eat a big load of that before I go out so I'm too full to drink much! Planning on having a huge diet coke first to fill me up and then either gin a tonic (2.5 syns per 25ml) or a white wine spirtzer with diet lemonade (5 syns).

We shall see!

Yesterday I had!

B: 1 egg and wholemeal slice of toast, no butter. (HeA)
L: plain pasta with tiny amount of butter (2 syns)
D: Quorn Gruyere cheese escalopes in breadcrumbs (7.5 syns) baked potato and beans, no syns.

Feeling great!

Sounds like you are doing great and off to a wonderful start in the New Year :) Hope you had a good night out and didn't over do it on the drinks.

Thanks you two :grouphug:

I did get a little bit boozed last night...Here's the damage!

B: 1 egg, 1 slice dry toast. Syn free.
L: 3 ryvitas with light dairylea (HeA)
D: quorn spag bol. Syn free.
S: 2 x gin and slimline tonic (5 syns) 4 glasses of white wine (24 syns)

So I went WAY over my syns last night.

However! I went to get weighed this morning and I lost 4.5lbs this week!

So chuffed. Reckon it would have been more if I'd been a little more sensible last night but I will take 4.5!

Today I have friends visiting. I will probably be a little naughty and smoke a little :sifone: Have a huge food shop coming though so will make some syn free snacks and use my frozen 4 syn chocolates as a emergency back up!
