Put that down, fatty! (For the last time!!)

Hiiii guys :) thanks for stopping by! I have very special kitties--they let us do whatever we want to them! Lovely squishy babies. I am embracing full Crazy Cat Lady status. Q, your kitty is adorable, Juno is a lovely name :)

Yesterday was a wonderful success. Kept around the 1600 mark which is what I'm aiming for daily.

Breakfast: 240 calories
Lunch: 296 calories
Dinner: 666 calories (gammon, new potatoes and rice)
Snacks: 430 (mostly wine....)

Only walked 6000 steps yesterday--BUT I'm at the hospital tomorrow where it's likely I'll do well over 10,000 so not too worried.

Todayyyyy I am at work all evening so will be able to avoid eating shit :)

Also, not counting my lbs before I've lost them BUT if the scales are right this morning I am on my way to a rather large loss...

Good job on your successful day! And if you're going to drink, at least it's wine and not margaritas or something. Do you have a set weigh in day picked out? I'm glad you're heading in the right direction!!

Thanks lovely lady! Yeahhhh, me and wine have a longggg history. It's going to be a hard habit to break. Although, I used to smoke 20 a day as well and quit a year ago (almost exactly a year ago, actually!) so have to be pleased that I achieved that without gaining anymore weight, at least. The wine quitting can come later.. ;P

Don't have a weigh in day really..Was going to be weekly but think I get a bit distracted if I'm not weighing more often so I'll probably do a proper weigh in twice a week--Starting tomorrow I think! So waaaatch this space :willy_nilly:

Smoking was a lot tougher to quit for me than drinking. A LOT! I'm happy you've stuck with that. Good luck with the weigh-in!

Hey Sunflower! That's impressive that you quit smoking without putting on significant weight, I put on a quick 10 after I quit in August.

That's awesome that you lost so much weight before (especially while using this forum) and it's great that you're back. I look forward to seeing more of your posts!

Hey Sunflower!

First of all, that cat (and you) are sooo cute :willy_nilly::willy_nilly:
And I`m with you about the wine thing (although, when I drink that much I can`t move on the next day).
But, I think white wine is better, like, calorie wise, no?

Q, quitting smoking was really easy for me..I used this drug called Champix that basically made me sick every time I had a cigarette. It alters shit in your mind ( can you tell I don't have a flair for Science? ) and just makes them seem repulsive. Very clever really. Took the pills for 10 days and haven't touched one since. Still enjoy the waccy baccy on occasion but you're only young once!

Thanks, Hunter :) This forum was amazing when I lost all the weight before.. So supportive. Made some great friends :) Hope you stick around xo

Hi Meerlena, nice to meet you! You clearly need more practice if you can't move the next day ;) White wine is better on calories but when you're drinking it in the quantities I enjoy it in it doesn't make much difference sadly! Have you got a diary yet? *goes to check*

Work sucks tonight. We have a new admission that has been trafficked into the country. Poor boy :( Very busy and only just ate. My calories are low for today, even accounting for a glass of vino when I get home.

Breakfast: Skipped
Lunch: 268 calories
Dinner: 629 calories
Snacks: 432 calories

Total: 1329

IS IT HOME TIME YET? :willy_nilly:
Steps: 10,165

alters shit in your mind

Let me translate that for you:

substantiated psychotropic effect

I'm glad it made it easy for you. Disulfiram is a similar thing for alcohol, It causes a "severe adverse reaction" when you drink :puke: . I don't think you need that. Nothing wrong with moderation. You have to do it with food anyway and a little isn't bad for you unlike cigs. The only hangup I have with people doing "waccy baccy" is the smoking part. You can always have edibles or vapor. Okay I'm done preaching.

"you're only young once!"

I know that too well. Rub it in! ;)

I used to be a really big drinker then it kind of phased out... I think the last drink I had was a single glass of champagne on my birthday. In Feb. :smilielol5:

I like food way too much to use calories on liquids! Also just one glass can fully turn my stomach and will make me feel seedy the next day now, so even if I go out for a nice dinner with the intention of having a glass or two I usually change my mind when I get there.

We can lose the weight again Sunflower!

Well done on quitting ciggies! I wish my family was able to do the same.
Wine .. I don't drink, but as long as it's in moderation I don't see the harm in a drink.

p.s. love the sciency explanation!

Hi Han, It's nice having you back & very entertaining as well. The wine's a killer sweetie. I should know. I'm going off it for a while after over-indulging in Darwin. One day down & dusted, 1kg lost already. It is so much a habit for me to share a bottle of wine at the end of the day & I want to break that habit. I just know that weight will come off when I do. You poor thing re the bridesmaid dress! I still cringe remembering being really big, even after 7 years, but I cringe less. Not smoking is a biggie Hana. WELL DONE YOU! xoxo Cate

Q, I don't use tobacco when I smoke anymore :) I have a very expensive vaporizer that does the trick ;)

Thanks for the vote of confidence Luzzzz :hurray:

Bean, thanks for posting ^_^ Hope you can persuade your family to quit the ciggies--It's made me feel so much better!

Cate, I think you're right, it is a habit. And one I should be breaking! I already am in a way, I'm used to one bottle a night and I'm down to a glass or 2 in the evening. And it HAS to be part of my calories for the day, not extras like I used to do.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SO, I weighed in this morning at the pharmacy down the road.

I've lost 8lbs this week!

:willy_nilly: :willy_nilly: :willy_nilly: :willy_nilly: :willy_nilly: :willy_nilly:

So I'm down from 222 to 214 in just 4 days. Imagine a large amount of that is water weight falling off and my body being shocked I'm not stuffing it with cheese. But I'm still very, very happy :D

Whoa, look at you go!! Guess your body doesn't like cheese as much as your taste buds do! Keep doing what you're doing. Question, does your Yank not partake in the wine with you?

The Yank is a stupid, healthy person who no longer drinks or smokes. His brother died 2 years ago and he drank so, so much whilst he was grieving that he got kidney stones within 2 weeks and they blamed the booze on them. He was in so much pain with the kidney stones that he very rarely drinks anymore as he's so worried about getting them again. Bless him. He doesn't eat very well but I do ALL of the cooking, so that's my fault, mostly. He eats what he's given (much like a man-child) so he'll lose weight along with me I imagine. He only weighs like 160 though so FUCK HIM.

:willy_nilly:

Am resisting celebrating epic loss by getting drunk and eating chips. Just putting my boots on to go for a walk and get kitty litter and pick up some stuff for a slow-cooked casserole tonight. Much better than shitty chips.

Yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee on the weight loss! How amazing is that!!

I love your celebrational walk - much, much better than greasy chips and calories filled drinks. Good choice, Sunflower - you're doing amazingly well :)

Don't negate all that hard work!! Snuggle with a kitty and enjoy that casserole.

Having seen my other half deal with a kidney stone I'd say I would avoid anything they told me to avoid as well. Good for him for making better choices, but having someone to split the wine with would make stopping at two glasses super easy!!!

Awesome drop! I'm with Oaks, don't kill the momentum. As a fellow man-child and Yank I was readying a defense for your Yank, but then I read the 160 part. His skinny butt is on his own.
