Put that down, fatty! (again!)

Love those things. What do you stuff them with?

I love them so much. I fry tiny bits of chorizo and halloumi (liiiiike a salty cheese thing) with lemon and coriander cous cous and mushrooms and black olives and then stuff the peppers. They are so tasty.

Today was really good - was really stressing about a shitty meeting I had to chair today but I was confident and awesome and the people were really receptive to the changes I wanted to implement to the care package and I got the go ahead on some stuff I needed for a client. Had supervision with the navel gazing guy I don't like so much..it ends up like a weird counselling session each time. So he wants to know a lot about "what makes me tick" etc and frankly it's none of his business and I just find the whole experience quite irritating. Need to be compliant as he marks my essays for University! Am ready for an early night, got up at 6:30 and cleaned all my kitchen cupboards before work and then blitzed my entire kitchen when I got home from work, did the meal prep for tomorrow and made me and Yank separate dinners as I'm trying to be healthy and he is 100 % not.. Time for sleep :) Off tomorrow morning so hoping weather will be gorgeous again and I'll head to the beach before I start work at lunch time.

15th March

Breakfast: skipped
Lunch: chickpea curry with brown rice (428)
Dinner: reduced fat pesto, 1.5 cups pasta, green beans, mushrooms, broccoli and parmesan baked in the oven (648)
Snacks: 250ml wine (174)

Steps: 14,000
Total: 1250

Volunteering tomorrow after work so Yank making chicken kievs and baked potato. He is a hideous cook. Really very, very bad. So hoping he can't mess this meal up too badly!

Sooo not right lol.

Sooo not right lol.

It's so bad Rebel. Honestly vomit inducing concoctions. I was really poorly once and asked for mac and cheese and he made a bowl of plain pasta (but cooked the pasta so long it had fallen apart and was mush) and cut up a string cheese and put it on top and then a load of dried basil. I've never forgiven him. I think he's secretly pleased he's shit (or is pretending fantastically) as I think I'm quite a good cook and he benefits nicely from never having to do the food shopping/planning/cooking ;)

Time to lock him in the room with the cooking channel lol. I had the same problem with my daughter.
Oh my goodness

Sounds like a really productive day. Well done on the meeting.

Ha, your supervisor sounds a bit intense. Beach before work is a lovely idea. Enjoy.

Your peppers are waaayyyyy more elaborate than mine. Mine is mostly rice, ground beef, tomato sauce, some onion, garlic, and a few herbs and spices. Might have cheese on it, but not usually.

Your husband with the string cheese. Oh my god. No one can be that bad. He must be faking it.

Can you ask someone at uni about that supervisor? Sometimes it´s helpful to know that the people he´s reporting to find him as weird and navel-gazy as you do.

I'm stuck with him til the end of this term - it's only until Juneish luckily. He's very highly respected in social work circles, lectures at the London Uni's etc - think it's just a personality clash. I'm assuming it's just his style. Just doesn't mesh with mine very well!

Getting a bit bummed with my progress at the moment.. I've been perfect since Sunday and have lost literally nothing.. few more days til weigh in so maybe it'll drop by then! I'm measuring everything etc so know my calories are right. And I'm doing a ton of exercise.. We shall see.

i feel there's some man-bashing going on in here on the culinary front. anything above beans on toast is clearly setting the bar too high. i think i speak for many men when i say the issue is clearly not our lack of skill in the kitchen, it's the heady weight of too much expectation from you girls :p

Don't get discouraged. I actually read about something called the "Paper Towel Effect" that explains why we have that period of a few days/a couple weeks where nothing changes and then we have a woosh. The fat cells store water because your body assumed you'll be filling them back up. After a little time has passed, it realizes that you aren't actually going to gain weight back and then it flushes out the water.

*rolls eyes* :p Ironically, we had beans on toast last night and I allowed him to do the toast and he didn't cock it up!

Cory, thanks hun - The scales were very kind this morning so think you were right!!

Being observed at work this morning (arghhh) and then coming home at lunch for the rest of my study day. Got the sister-in-law descending on me on Sunday so preparing myself mentally and trying to get the house sorted! Going to see Get Out at the pictures tonight. I worked the soup kitchen last night and one of my 18 year old clients from my usual job was there - very mixed feelings as so happy to see him and looking relatively "okay" but he was also really under the influence of legal highs and was using the soup kitchen.. so yeah. Anyway, he said "c**ting fuck H, you weren't a fat bird before Christmas but now you're well fit!" Which is English for "you're looking much slimmer". So that was nice. Yank came for the last half an hour and pitched in. I love my community so much. So much love :)

Yesterday's foooood. 16th March

Breakfast: raisin brunch bar (137)
Lunch: tinned pears, 2 crackers with light cheese, skinny popcorn (364)
Dinner: beans on toast (557)
Snacks: 1 small glass wine, graze box (222)

Total: 1280
Steps: 13,500

He has a way with words ;) but I like the intention :D
Yay for the scales being good hon xoxo

Get Out was amazing! So funny and clever. Thought it was fab. Glad we did that and didn't go to the pub - waking up hangover free is a novelty that never wears off! So pleased I have new habits and have control back. Food was pretty bad - we did have a few drinks and I had popcorn at the cinema. I walked over 20,000 steps yesterday thought so I think it'll have evened out somewhat!

Off to University for the day now - we have Yank's step-sister arriving tomorrow.. dreading it. I hate having guests!

17th March

Breakfast: skipped
Lunch: low-cal pesto pasta packet, 1 slice of bread (598)
Dinner: 2 slices toast, 1/2 tin baked beans (422)
Snacks: 500ml wine, salted popcorn (807)

Total: 1827
Steps: 22,500

Hello gorgeous people :)

Food for yesterday was a little high - around 1600 and very few steps as I was in lectures most of the day. I have Yank's step-sister coming in a few hours. Really not looking forward to it. Yank is working all week and I've taken three days off to hang out with her but she's only 21 and quite immature from what I remember of her. I've only met her once so it's going to be quite awkward having her in my home for a week! Maaaah. Anxiety. Anyway, she loves Indian food and the USA apparently has no idea what it's doing on that front so will be taking her to some authentic restaurant by our house. We have about 100 Indian restaurants within about a 20 minute walk! It's a booming industry here!

So it's weigh in day! I've had a 2lb drop this week which I've pleased about. Imagine next week will be bad or the same as we will be eating out a lot this week and potentially drinking a little more than usual. We'll see..Anyway, I'm in the 170's! It's a miracle! Only 4lbs to go until I reach my goal..175lbs is the lowest I got to last time I did all this weight loss stuff.. Can't believe how close I am. I imagine once I'm at 175lb I'll decide to go for another half a stone or so but we will see!

Week One: 199lbs to 194.5lbs (-4.5)
Week Two: 194.5lbs to 191.5 (-3)
Week Three: 191.5lbs to 190 (-1.5)
Week Four: 190 to 189 (-1)
Week Five: 189 to 187.5 (-1.5)
Week Six: 187.5 to 186 (-1.5)
Week Seven: 186 to 184 (-2)
Week Eight: 184 (0)
Week Nine: 184 to 182 (-2)
Week Ten: 182 to 181 (-1)
Week Eleven: 181 to 179 (-2)

Total: 20lbs down since Jan 1st 2017

4 pounds to your goal is fantastic! Are you going to buy some new clothes as a reward for your efforts? Do you feel better/different?

Are you living near London Sunflower? The last time I visited a friend over there, she took us to Brick Lane, which was fab.

I feel you on the anxiety of someone staying in your home. I get anxious even when it's someone I know well. I'd go nuts if it was a relative stranger.
