Put DOWN the Nutella!

Hopefully your new heart rate monitor will help you get a more accurate calorie count and that that will boost your weight loss along!! Keep it up!

MrXian- Thank you! I look about a million percent better than I did 6 months ago for sure. Still a way to go to get to where I want to be though!! But definitely well on my way :hurray:

MrVee- Haha love the suggestions!! Though... I think a jar of nut butter IS a balanced meal (at least it should be!!!) Love swimming with lizards, makes me sound like the crocodile hunter! I'll take those into consideration :D

Mystic- I'm LOVING my heart rate monitor, no idea why I didn't get one sooner!!!! Crazy! So much fun too, I just sat for an hour with it on yesterday to see how many calories it reckoned I burned hahaha!

WELL!! Today I wore my HRM watch for my physio exercises and calories burned was WAY less! I thought that might happen, it would have been either from the extra sugars/ food I ate on Christmas day or because I had a much larger breakfast yesterday. In any case... Still 117cals I wasn't counting before! I left the heart rate watch going while I used the foam roller too so that was over a longer period of time than yesterday.

So just finished my workout, and in my head I'd gone uh oh... maybe Fitday WAS right... Day 5 strength is a 30min full body circuit, 1 minute on with 10 seconds to change station, 9 exercises (so 27 rounds as I do the circuit 3x) and results were (stretching included): 36mins 55secs, 317cals burned, HR average 144bpm, max 167bpm, fat burning zone 33% total workout and fitness zone 66%. So still twice as much as I was counting! That's all my exercise done for the day too. YEW!

I have started eating really small amounts of dairy- had a bit of butter in that cookie I made for breakfast, also had some dairy chocolate yesterday (oops... it's Christmas! Husband took ALL remaining junk food to work with him today so that won't happen again). No dramas yet, I'm never going to have straight dairy milk again but this is promising! I'll keep sneaking in small bits here and there while I'm on holidays and hope nothing happens. Oh- added almost an extra 300 calories to today's food, still a 1000 cal deficit though. I'm going to stop counting the deficit for this week- I realise all the days that I wasn't using my HRM monitor will completely skew the result. So going to weigh in the day I leave- on the Sun- then watch what I'm eating while away... And then weigh in/ measure again the morning after I get back and take that as another starting point.

Food plan for tomorrow

B- 2 eggs, 2 beef chevups, 1 pc homemade linseed bread, 1/3 avocado
S- Post swim- protein shake with coconut milk ice cubes
L- Homemade golden flax roll with tuna, cheese, tomato, spinach, mustard
S- 2 hard boiled eggs
D- Homemade Asian noodles- broccoli, beans, egg, soy sauce, garlic tossed through slim pasta (haha, can you tell we are trying to eat all the eggs before we leave??)

Exercise- 30mins swimming (lowered the calorie count from the other day, will adjust it after my swim so may add extra cheese to lunch or something if needed)

Total calories: 1506 Total deficit: 998

I'm not counting my almond milk at all in above totals, don't think it's going to affect anything... still drinking my 2 coffees though!

Bit head-achey coming down from all the sugary shit I had on Christmas and the day after... poor head! Still feel a bit funky from it today. No other issues, can't wait to eat cheese today!! Good times!

Calorie burn in my physio exercises was even less today, 29mins and 88cals burned. Still works out to be a fair bit since Fitday estimates me sitting for an hour at 89cals, so makes a pretty big difference in my day! Going for a swim soon to see if that is much different to the other day, I estimated 200cals because I think results were elevated the other day by the crappy food I ate on Christmas. Will come back and post results after!

Food plan for tomorrow

B- Coffee and macadamia nut sponge roll experiment (looking forward to this one!)
S- Protein shake
L- Omelette with tuna and beans and 2 eggs, 1 pc homemade linseed toast
S- 1 pc linseed toast with 1/3 avocado
D- 140g steak with broccoli and beans

Exercise- 30mins strength day 1- legs! Oh and the physio stuff too of course.

Total calories: 1533 Total deficit: 955

Results from my swim: Total of 33mins 54secs, 221cals burned, HR average 123bpm, HR max 137, 80% of workout spent in fat burning zone and 20% in fitness zone. So yes, as I suspected much less than the other day. Still slightly more than I anticipated- and still 50cals more than I was counting before! Plus the extra 90cals from physio I wasn't including before too...

Morning.......!!!!!! This will be the last time you hear from me for a couple of weeks. Hopefully I'll be a kg lighter and actually losing again lol. Can't wait to leave tomorrow, I'm so excited! And I'll have a new diary... this one is too old, too many pages. Also so much has changed! Just seems appropriate. This is going to be a really big year for me!

Can't even really do a food plan for tomorrow lol, I know breakfast will be 2 eggs, 2 pcs toast an 1/3 avocado... morning tea will be a protein shake after my workout. Then after that I'm flying away, can't eat plane food so will be having a feast when I get to my parents place and then whatever they are having for dinner. AH I'm so excited, they grow ALL their own veges. Homegrown veg for 2 wees!!!! WOOO!!

Hello My lovely.

I'm sorry i have been AWOL, i hope you can forgive me.

Hope you have an awesome holiday and hopefully i will be back on it good and proper by the time you get back.

Much love Xoxoxo

Just thought I'd pop in and poke around a bit this morning- So excited that so many people from ages ago are back!!!

Holidays are great, I don't want to leave. Can't believe I've been here almost 5 days already!!!!!!!! Argh!!! Been catching up with people mostly. Had my chiro appointment yesterday, he re-aligned my hips and a few vertebrae between my shoulder blads and I'm so sore now. Had a really big headache after it last night, went to sleep really early then didn't wake up till 7am this morning. Really needed the sleep though!! Also he gave me 3 extra exercises to tack onto my physio ones and he made all my stretches much harder.

Have been to a few of our favourite places, went to the cafe in town that my bro-in-law and sister part own and had breakfast. It was SUCH a hot morning but I was determined to sit outside because the view is so beautiful.

Went there with my oldest friend (we've known each other since we were 6!) and my husband. She has a FIFO job and flew out yesterday arvo so unfortunately only got to see her twice. I went out for coffee with her at one of my other fav places yesterday! Couple of pics- they've painted a huge mural on the back wall which I thought was really cool! Also check out the cute little cream jug! (I can't process dairy milk very well because of the high lactose amount, cream as practically no lactose so that's what I do when I go out! Black coffee and I top it up myself)

Thought I'd pop in again as I have a lazy day with no plans till much later! What have I been up to...

I had my deep tissue massage, the woman that did it was absolutely incredible. She's a remedial massage therapist and does several other forms of massage, she helped me more and could tell me more about my leg problems than anyone else could. She said everything would have started at my feet, that I have really congested tissue in my lower legs. Seriously, she spent ages attacking my calves (ages as in I booked a 1 hour massage and she ended up massaging me for 2.5 hours, the whole first hour she spent on my calves and ankles! She didn't even charge me any extra, she just said she didn't want me to leave not being able to walk!) My hamstrings and adductors are really tight and full of fibroids which she thinks is a lack of magnesium and other minerals, she straight away asked me if I had been exposed to anything I'm allergic to because I have a lot of inflammation in my tissues so I told her about my recent discovery of food allergies. She really was amazing! I was so incredibly sore afterward though, she gave me a jar of Epsom salts mixed with essential oils to soak in before I went to bed and I changed my magnesium supplement as I've been taking the wrong form.

I had my hair appointment straight afterward so grabbed something small to eat and went straight to the hairdresser, that took almost 3 hours! Here's my new hair (this was taken yesterday, so the day after with my own hair product. Hairdressers never have strong enough products to tame my curls!)

I went and spent the voucher my mum got me for Christmas that afternoon, bought a gorgeous dress! Going to wear it out for dinner on Monday night (going out for Ash's birthday).

Yesterday we drove to Perth and I spent all the vouchers Wade gave me for Christmas- got BULK baking stuff from David Jones- a giant loaf tin, 2 mini loaf tins, 2 deep dish pizza tins, a really big 'square dessert' tin which looks like a 12 hole muffin tin but the holes are square instead of round, an ice-cream scoop and a basting brush. He also gave me vouchers for one of my favourite dress/accessory stores and I got a dress, a hand bag, a wallet, a headband, a new pair of sunnies and a bangle. So I got MEGA spoiled! Went for lunch with Ash to Sumo salad and I got a chicken salad with avocado, feta and lettuce with a seeded mustard dressing which was SOOO yummy! Then I caught up with a friend for coffee. We then spent several hours hunting down a CD for my Nan which was sold out everywhere- added an extra two hours onto our day but we finally found it! Got home late for dinner but everyone waited for us... my mum made bulk pizza (she made me a grain free protein pizza base from a recipe we found, was AMAZING! Just egg whites, whey protein and cream cheese) She also made home-made ice-cream and used xylitol instead of sugar and it was awesome. She's so excited playing with all the ingredients I brought with me! She made a grain-free meatloaf the other day which was AMAZING, she posted that herself on my blog... Today she's playing with almond meal trying to make a shortcrust pastry as she has a thing for spinach pie. I told her to go nuts haha, so she might possibly post on my page again before I leave!

I've still been amazing with food and exercise, no nasty stuff at all. Haven't gotten anywhere near to going over calories either! Also today was day 1 of my 5 day split again, I've already done my workout. So still going strong! We leave on Wed and I SOOOO don't want to go home!!!! This arvo I'm going to my older sisters place to watch a movie, no plans tomorrow (it's Ash's birthday but we are going out for dinner Mon, just the two of us). So yea! That's what I've been doing!!!

You are doing so amazing!!! Can't believe you are keeping up so well with your eating and exercising while on vacay!! And all you new stuff sounds awesome!

LOLOLOL LOVE the diary title :) I have to run but I will come back later to catch up. Have a great day Luz!

I'm actually going to start a new diary when I get back from holidays in a week- this journal has gotten too long and I've come a really long way since the start of it... The title doesn't really apply to me anymore! I feel like I need a fresh start, this whole year is going to be a big challenge with moving and studying so it's a whole other journey!

It's Ash's birthday today, he's actually passed out in bed after my brother got him insanely drunk last night. I had to sleep next to him with him getting up to vomit every half hour, ew! Pretty sure he vomited in the bin in the bedroom too... anyway, I was dying to get out of there this morning! Lucky we had no plans for today though, we are going out for dinner tomorrow night so he will be recovered by then!

I'm about to do my workout, I'm up to day 2 of my 5 day split which is back and bis. It's going to be pretty hard without my lat pull down machine and my seated row so I might have to re-write this workout a little- bent over rows, single arm rows and reverse flies are already a part of the workout so not much else I can do for my back with only dumbbells!

Oh, my mum did another post on my blog- she made an amazing grain free shortcrust pastry and made an awesome cheese and spinach pie! Here's a pic of me and my mum my dad took for it.

Just stopping quickly to post a few pics from dinner! It was Ash's birthday (husband) yesterday and we just came back from dinner... It was awesome! I had a huge bowl of chilli seafood, steamed veg in olive oil and lemon and 2 ciders, then we went down the road to a café afterward and I had a pot of green tea while Ash had dessert. Here are some pics! I got the dress with the gift voucher my mum gave me for Christmas.
