push ups

okay, just wanted to ask a few questions so im completely sure its not rubbish.

i was just toying a bit with this idea, its not much, but would just like to know if it isnt overdoing it:
push ups 2 times a day, raising it one every day, so first day its 10 morning 10 night, next day its 11 morning and 11 night, and so on...
and the same amount with hand wights, right after the push ups. my plan is to continue at first til i am at 100 morning and night, then its 3 months later, cant be more easing into it than that =)

what my question is, is basicly can that be too much of a strain on my muscles? or is it easing into it slowly enough that its fine?

background: i am a former elite swimmer, did alot of intense training back then, but its about 5 years ago, now im 20, and a little bit of a nerd, who have gained a little too much weight, and would really like to get rid of it. for the last 3 years or so, my excercise and training have been zero.
and i just read muscles is a good way to lose the fat.

hope someone can answer.

hmm okay, i have tried it now for a little over a week, and i feel it alright.
the last 3 years or more all i have done is sit in front of the computer or the tv, my fitness and strength is officially equal 0.
but if anything, atleast im just getting started doing something :D

about the "I think you will hit a peak at probably like 30 pushups (muscles wont get torn) and just doing 60 pushups a day while trying and being unable to do 62 results in you maintaining the little gains you got." could you explain that a little further?

oh yea, and its push ups, because i heard that thats the excersice that trains most of the body.
and its easy to do at home, i dont think i would be able to go to a gym at a regular basis. or i would physicly, but with work and school, i dont think i would be able to keep it up, because then theres a slip there, and a slip there, when you have to get out of the house.

Try and vary your routine. Sure, pushups might be fun for a while, but they'll get old. (you might have more will power than I do, but, thats for you to decide!) Here is my idea for push ups, get to 100 as fast as you can!!!

Try this:
Find out your max, then, after you are maxed, prop your body up on a bed, your lower body, and see how many more you can do. Increase the amount of your body proped up, and continue until you get a lot of work out of those arms. Rest until your arms don't feel it anymore. The first few times, you will probably be really sore, but you should get used to it.

Also, If you wan't to loose some weight, you might want to try a zigzag diet, combined with body weight exercise.

I don't know much! Just a noob!
