push up bars

anyone ever used bars like these for push ups?

I have bad wrists and cant do push ups without a lot of pain, but i can bench press with dumbells with no problem. it seems to just be when my hand is flat with my wrist bent 90 degrees (and my weight on them of course).. i was wondering if these may help.

If the wrist is the issue then these will help. Or possibly do away with the problem all together.

You will be able to get a larger range of motion with them as well.

if you can bench press, then why do you want to do pushups?

pushups are good if you cant do over 12-15 or so.

i have pushup bars and i find that they dont really make pushups much more challenging realy. these will prolly help your problem but you can get stronger and simulate pushups with bench

Try fisted pushups:)
lol

uhh meaning make a fist and do a pushup with knuckles to the floor. This will keep you from bending your wrist.

We posted at the same time. Crazy.

Pushups are good if you can do 100. The reason for doing them is different, but they are great for muscular endurance once you get to the point where you can do a lot of them.

I can usually DB bench with a 35lb dumbell in each hand.. x5 or so. I've tried to move up to 40, but that starts to bother my wrist a little too. I did just invest in some wrist wraps though and im going to try those out. I've just never really been good at push ups and want more variety.

I've tried that, but then my nuckles hurt lol.. maybe if i tried it with a pad under my nuckles it would help. i may give that a go first.

Also you could do the push ups on your dumbbells. same way you would a pushup bar do a push up on the dumbbells.(the weights will suspend the bar in air for grasp)
