Mmm, calamari! Now I have to go see if anyone's up for Japanese tonight! But seriously: awesome job, both on changing the food and on the exercise. How are the kids reacting to the change?

Daily takeout and drinking was how I got to my highest weight. I eat one pretty healthy restaurant meal a week and haven't had a drink in almost a year. I'm not bragging, I just want you to know that you can do anything you want. Just work at forming new habits and know it won't always be hard. Great job and keep plugging away!

I lack motivation to leave my house, in a bad way, so I'm thankful I moved back home and my Mom doesn't let me slack.

Today I had my first group work out with Jeremy and surprisingly I kept up with circuits and did all 10 exercises, twice! There were 2 other new members today, too, so I didn't feel so out of place with the workouts.

Hopefully my bathing suit comes in today and I can do my water aerobics tomorrow. Sticking with my workout plan is the best thing for me right now because if I exercise in the morning I'm more apt to eat better throughout the day.

I felt like I was on the biggest loser, I worked so hard I wanted to puke. But it's progress and I'm hoping for a rather decent number on Friday.

I have a holiday challenge of losing 6 more pounds for Halloween. I can do this!!

Go pumpkin's Mum! I'm glad you are pushing through the lack of motivation (with a little bit of help).
Hell yeah you can!
Bust it Pumpkin :D

I hope your bathing suit comes in soon! I hate waiting for packages. I want my things... and I want them now! haha! :p

Hi Pumpkin - your post really resonated with me, sounds like you know what you need to do but need the tools and coping mechanisms to be able to get there. You can do it! Sounds like you have a great plan - part of the battle is getting into that routine of changed habits, that's what i struggle with most. Once the change becomes the habit it's like a switch flips and it comes much more easily. Anyway, post again soon and take care!!

I lack motivation to leave my house, in a bad way, so I'm thankful I moved back home and my Mom doesn't let me slack.

At first I read that as "Mom doesn't let me SNACK" and I was like, "That BITCH!!! Just let her have a snack, mom!!!" But, then I read it again and realized it said "SLACK."

But, yeah, that's what mom's do - they don't let their kids slack. I think it's in their DNA somewhere.

Good for you on going to your group class. Sounds like you did really well! I myself prefer to workout with DVD's. I always feel like I'm the most out of shape clumsiness person in the group classes - probably because I am. lol

Thanks guys! I was absent last week because I didn't do well eating wise. I ate fast food and then snacked more than I should have every night. I still made it to the gym 3 times though and my bathing suit finally came in. So back on the wagon again this weekend and I'm hoping to have met (or get close to) my goal of 450lbs tomorrow. When I weighed in on Friday I was the same weight, 456, so hopefully all the walking and trunk or treating I did with my family helped!!

Let me just say how much it SUCKS to put in all that hard work at the gym and not lose a single ounce because I chose to eat poorly. I mean, at least I didn't gain but I busted my butt last week and I ruined it by eating crap. I won't do that again.

You just need to settle into a healthy groove. You might try totally planning your next 3 or 4 days food. That way you leave the weaker moments out of it. Just a thought perhaps to get you back on track

That's exactly what happened. I didn't plan my dinners or lunches so I just binged all day mindlessly. Usually I plan ahead so I know and have something to look forward to, but I slacked off and got kind of lazy and just didn't do it. This week I need to plan better and take it out. I'm a week short of my overall goal for the holidays so we'll see if I can pull it together in time

As Benjamin Franklin supposedly once said, “If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail.”
I know you are not planning on failing Pumpkin, but planning ahead for your meals will really help you lose weight. It makes a big difference. Use last week as a learning experience hon xo

Hi Pumpkin!! Congrats so far on your progress! It is seriously inspiring. Your ability to 180-degree turn around your diet is incredibly impressive. Your new diet sounds like something straight out of a fitness magazine - you know the, "eat this, lose 10 lbs and never be hungry!" kind of foods. If you don't mind me asking, did you notice any other changes? Since you were eating less and things other than what you had become used to, did you have more/less energy, mood swings, cravings, etc?

How are things going.
I see that you tried to kick off a challenge last year. I always love challenges and I'm back.
Why not return to the forum and challenge me :jump:
