Project C

Piney - Thanks Piney. The 50 Day count is 50 Days of "C's Super Summer Challenge." It was just something I started to bust my plateau and get revitalized about my diet. That's why journal is in this kinda formatting. This personal challenge runs from late June to end of August.

Jess - Thanks Jess. I appreciate it. I'm also glad to see you're back. :)

Cannon - Hey you. :) Welcome back. And thanks for the support.

M2M - Thanks M2M... Although it seems my walking days have been put on hold for a lil while... Instead of walking, I'm limping around right now. :(

Week 8 Challenge: No Fast Food (Cumulative)

Day Fifty-One:
Today's calorie count is about 1450 with 18% overall fat and 8% being saturated. Breakfast was my usual cereal, milk & cheese. Lunch was grilled mozzarella fat-free cheese sandwich, 6 baby carrots & 2 clementines again. Snack was 2 slices of birthday cake... I REALLY shouldn't have... but it was just sitting there. ^__^; But it's not that horrible cause it wasn't icing or anything. It's a mango mousse cake. So the mousse is bad but at least it wasn't icing. And the cake was angel food cake so it's pretty light. Dinner was this pasta I saw on TV... It wasn't that good. Basically, lightly stewed tomatoes with garlic & basil with pasta. And mixed in with some mozzarella cheese. It was kinda bleh. Sodium is over again.... 2800mg. But water is right on the dot... 2.5L. I also walked to and from the program today. That's another 3.8km (2.36 miles). But I don't think I'll be doing that tomorrow... Owie. Blister. :( It HUUUUURTS. :( I put some moleskin on it. I hope that'll give it enough padding. We'll see by tomorrow.

I found out that I had PCOS last year and I was very sad and scared. It explains a lot of my weight gain in the last couple of years and also my lack of periods for up to six months at a time.
I lost about 15 pounds and am on a very high protein diet now and haven't had any problems and have also bee getting my period on a more regular basis.
I am here to support u in anyway. Also I just want to say that u seem very strong and I am impressed by your determination to achieve your weight loss goal.

Hi C, You're such a sweet girl I wanted to say 'bye in your journal too. Thanks so much for the heartfelt encouragement. Don't forget how fantastic you are, you deserve the best successes! Keep up the good work, and remember to always take care of yourself!

Hey C, you're doing great! I beat you'll drop to the 250's in no time, especially with the extra exercise every day! And I'll tell you from my personal experience, that once you drop the fast-food cravings, you'll probably never want to go back! Fast food was one of the first things I tried to cut from my diet, and every few months I manage to convince myself that I want a big mac or something and then after eating it I feel TERRIBLE! Some restraunts you can smell the grease in them, and it grosses me out so much...

Newme - Thanks NewMe. I just had the ultrasound done today... Sigh. I think I have cysts in my ovaries afterall... Cause the technician doing the scanning was very serious and stuff. And I could see her marking things on the screen like to point out the abnormalities. :( PCOS is hitting me hard. I always kinda suspected... But yknow, everyone including doctors told me I was okay. And now, I find out I'm not okay afterall. :(

Piney - Thanks Piney!

Cannon - Blisters for you too huh? :(

Miss Princess - I'm gonna miss you SOOO much! You take care too! *huggles*

Beagle - Yeah... I don't eat fast food usually. Still though... I always get a craving about maybe once a month or two. :( Bad I know. :( I'm trying to cut it out. Today was hard though... I left my lunch at home and was forced to get the closest thing to me... KFC/Taco Bell.

Week 8 Challenge: No Fast Food (Cumulative)

Day Fifty-Two:
Welp... Today, like I was telling NewMe, I got my ultrasound done. There doesn't seem to be anything unusal about my boobs. So I don't think I have breast cancer. Yay. So whatever hard bump the doctor felt last week seems to be gone. Maybe it was just hormones. But I think I do have cysts in my ovaries. :( Cause the technician was very quiet and her face was kinda scrunched up concerned looking as she took the photos. And she took alot and made alot of markings on the screen which I think may be abnormalities she was trying to display. Sigh.

As for eating, today wasn't any better. I was angry at my brother today. So I left in a huff and forgot my lunch at home sitting at the dining room table. I was forced to go out and buy a lunch. And the closest/fastest thing I could get was KFC/Taco Bell. So unfortunately, fat is pretty high today. About 1700 calories with 35% overall fat and 10% of it being saturated. As a snack I also had 2 Nestle mini fudge bars because...

In unrelated news, my long-distance boyfriend is going away to college next week. Alot sooner than I had thought since his first choice didn't happen... The college decided to shut down the program because lack of applicants this year. So he's forced to go to another college... which it's start day is on the 28th. This would have been all okay since we're long-distance anyways except he's not bringing his computer with him to school. :( This will totally make our "talk time" alot shorter and alot less. :(

PS-Sorry for now visiting the journals lately... Life's been busy with the job program. I'll try to visit everyone this weekend!

You are doing good!!!!! I know how that Busy life goes. I am now just getting back to this forum. Stay Positive!!!! There is this webisite(s) That I use and they email me alot of fast foods healthier choices. They are: www.Sparkpeople.com and www.hungrygirl.com They compare foods and It is helpful to know when you are out on thre road.

Well, have a GREAt day, Cheer up and drink that WATER:D

Hey C, hope things get better soon. The key with the fast food is getting educated and making good choices. I have done 800 calories Popeye meals and 630 calories Burger King meals that were very filling.

Hi C. Just checking in. I hope that all these test you are having done will bring some resolution to some of your issues. What do they do for cysts on ovaries. Do they remove them?

Don't worry about visiting other peoples diaries right now. You have a lot going on. Just take care of yourself. Hope things start looking up for you soon.

Jelly - Thanks for those sites Jelly. They look great. :)

Cannon - Healthier choices at fast food restaurants... Is that possible? o__o?!?!

Piney - If there's cysts, you can't remove them. I mean, you can but it's not recommended. You just live with them. They're likely not cancerous (though some cysts are). With PCOS, they're usually not though. But it will make conceiving children harder as well as increase chances of miscarriages. :(

Week 8 Challenge: No Fast Food (Cumulative)

Day Fifty-Two:
Ack! Yesterday was HORRIBLE! I applied for a job Thursday afternoon and they called me Friday morning to do a pre-screening test... computer skills and all. Now I know most of MS Office... except my Excel is kinda weak and I have NEVER touched Access in my life. IN MY LIFE!! AHHHH! And I REALLY want this job. But I'm nervous as hell. So I TOTALLY BINGED yesterday and ate about 2500 calories including ice cream, pizza, chips, apple pie and popcorn. I am TOTALLY NERVOUS and ANXIOUS here. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!

Sorry to hear about your recent test results C.:( Are the cycts liquid? If so can you have them drained at all? I only remember this because we used to have a little pet hamster that got a cyst on his kidneys, he looked awful and was very bloated all the time and couldn't walk properly. We took him to the vet who drained the cyst using a needle and though it reoccured until his death you could see he was much happier with all the fluid drained. I know it's maybe a bit daft to compare hamsters to people but the general idea might be worth looking into?

Hope you feel better soon!:)

Kaitie - Thanks.. I am totally and completely freaking out here. AHHHH!!

Crunchie - I've read that you can get it drained. I dunno what I have though. And I don't have to go through any procedures like that as a last resort if my PCOS symptoms don't lessen as I lose more weight from what I've read. And most people only do that if they're very determined to have kids. I've basically made up my mind that I'll lose the weight and see what happens. If by that time, I'm married and still have kids, I'm not gonna force it and do surgery. I'll just live with not having kids then.

Week 8 Challenge: No Fast Food (Cumulative)

Day Fifty-Three:
Calories... 2130. AHHHHHHH! I'm gonna be gaining weight this week. I just know it. >_< I'm so nervous I am constantly eating. Yesterday we went to an Indian buffet and I totally went nuts on their rice, butter chicken, channa masala, goat curry, tandoori chicken, nan, salad and yogurt. AHHHHH! I haven't binged in months but this pre-screening interview test on Tuesday is TOTALLY FREAKING ME OUT!!

Most employers are happy if you know just a portion of what they want- and as long as you don't come across as a ninkinpoop (which you absolutely DO NOT) they will train you.

Access is pretty intuitive once you get into it - at it's basic level it's just a series of spreadsheets that are linked together by a common column... being proficient in Word and Powerpoint are usually enough for most employers...

You're gonna do awesome...

if things can be fixed there is no need to worry, if they can't be fixed worrying does not help-- take deep breaths and chill out, you will do great and if you don't....well they can't take away your birthday right?
