Progress pics

Okay guys... Here's a couple of pics I took this morning at 6AM.

Sorry the legs are left out. I will take some more formal progress pics later with legs included.

By the time I hit 40 in a few months I plan to look better than I did at my best in my 30's.

Have to throw more props out to Adam for his excellent diet. If you have any doubts whatsoever about the "The TNT Diet" put them to rest, go get the book, and get started TODAY! In just one month you will look like a different person. I personally dropped 20 pounds and it took me a month and tree days.

Looking good man, Bf% round 12 rite. Your looking pretty defined at 12 imagine what you will look like a bit lower.

Actually I think I'm around the 15% mark. Keep in mind that those damn OMRONS or calipers still figure in age, and even if I had the same measurements as I did at 29, it's going to estimate me much higher (which is actually probably accurate as we do have more inter-organ and visceral fat in our 40's). Thanks for the props though! :)

Well you obviously have some good muscle under there. Yeah thats the problem with the supposed gold standard measure. You ever considered under water weighing or a dexa scan?

Or............ cadaver testing dum dum dum

Hear-hear! I don't plan to grow old gracefully! I'm going kicking and screaming. :D

We share allot in common........Grrrrrrrrr......growl, growl, :D

JP you look great! The TNT is just BLASTING the body fat off! GREAT WORK!

I got up today at 3:30AM. I had to adjust training because of today's activities. I provide no excuses! YES.........!

I ate my pre-workout meal.

It is now 6:30AM.

Instead of cardio this AM, I have to eliminate it, and replace it with my weight training (because it is normally done in the evening) and I have some important things to do. Where there is a will there is way to adjust and give time. I understand this isnt always the case with life's responsibilities, but there is a difference between providing an excuse (and there is room to fit training in) and not even a remote possibility of getting it in. HAVE TO WANT IT!

You can bet, if the activities shorten this evening, I see cardio in the PM. There is no doubt. I have the evil eye and my attitude is high!

Im off to train, staying mean and lean, BABY!

The cast iron has some problems: ME

The cast iron RUMBLE; the body fat CRUMBLES; and Chillen will not STUMBLE. :)

40+ year olds FLAT ROCK!

Dude, we don't just rock, we RULE! :D :D

I love it when I'm at the gym, putting in about 30 - 45 minutes of intervals on the StairMaster, and some young thang (about half my age) gets on a machine next to me, all smiling and confident like, then after about 5 - 10 minutes young thang is huffing and puffing and gettin' the hail off! :yelrotflmao:

This old broad's got endurance. ;)

JP:

Congrats again MAN! I went from about 185/190 to about 154lbs (avatar pic, I am a short dude, 5' 7"), thats over 30 pounds approximate tissue loss. Oh hell, okay, add a pound or two for hair loss....., okay I confess. :) I wll be Mr. Clean before I pop a pill or do a topical solution for the hair loss.....nope, not gonna happen, brotha. :). When all the smoke cleared, it took a small tad over a year to accomplish my goal......to the fullest degree I wanted. Wonder if the hair loss was from the times I fell, and kept on getting back up? hmm....possibly...I like that....then.

I am gonna push ya, my brotha! :)

I am with you, all the way, everyday!

You don't lose endurance until your 50s and even then it's a slow drop off. And, because 40 somethings know they lack the fast-twitch skills (sprinting, jumping, etc.) we tend to focus on endurance events (longer bike racing, longer running, triathlons, etc.). The winner of last year's Tri-Shark triathlon was 49 when he won it last year (for the third time in a row) and is the prohibitive favorite to win it this year at age 50. And that is in the open class.

By the way, JP, you look great. I got to thinking about your statement that visceral fat increases with age and you are right, unfortunately. . Basically, the ratio of subcutaneous (visible) fat to visceral (not visible) fat decreases with age irrespective of any other factors.

Lookin' good man. I'm 32 now and I have no intention of "losing it" as I age. I look better now than ever and I'm still improving

It's interesting to see how people store fat in different ways. Although I'm leaner than you overall at this point especially through the chest, arms and shoulders, your abs are a LOT more prominent than mine

Looking good. How about a could flexing pictures? And you look more like 12-13%, not 15% since you can see abs even unflexed.

Big muscle bellies I suppose. I was always pretty athletic... Wrestler and polevaulter in HS, cheered in college, started taking gymnasitics at 19, and the tumbling really built up my midsection. I'm still in a 33" pant. I can get down to a 30" but it will probably take a couple more months.

glad you were able to fit all that in. My question is how do you get the skin to grab the abdominal muscles like that? i look at your bicepts, pecs, neck, obliques, etc and it is not thin and tight, but in your abdominal area it seems to be reaching down in between.

Do you use lotion or soemthing, or are you just one lucky mofo? I have that gift with my leg skin it seems.

Nope, no lotion. My shoulders are soft because I have not used them so much in the last several years after my many shoulder surgeries. But I'm also tightening up my abs a little, not flexing the upper body muscles, have lucky genetics to an extent, and the light is hitting me favorably.

I've always seen the outline of my abs, even when I've been as high as 23% bf. Look through some of my old posts (if you have the patience) from about three years ago when I posted some progress pics. You will see a shirtless pic of me at 20% bf and see what I mean.

Here is a link from when I was 36, 8 weeks into a program:

This next photo update was when I was 3 or 4 months on the program, down to mid 170's, and about 11% bodyfat.

Damn, your abs do always show. I was just looking at the 205 vs. 175 pics. How tall of a guy are you?
