Preparation for a game of sport

Hey guys, I just need a little help on how to prepare before a game of sport.
I play AFL and i need your opinion on how to prepare on game day.
Usually in the morning I would have cereal, coffee, and before and during the game I would drink energy drinks.

What are your experiences when it comes to preparation on game day ?

Um, don't drink energy drinks. A small amount of caffeine can help endurance, but it also can cause some serious gastrointestinal distress and possible dehydration. Plus, energy drinks are loaded with way more sugar than you need.

You should have a small amount of protein during the day and a variety of carbohydrates before and after the game. You may want a sport drink or gel during the game as well, but that depends on how much you're sweating.

I usually only drink during the warmups before the game so i dont get dehydrated. it says its only got 12g of carbs per 180ml and its like this expensive scientific stuff that my dad uses for golf. haha. He doesn't drink the normal energy drinks like powerade and gatorade cos its bad.

Having caffeine during the warm ups doesn't mean it won't still be in you during the game.

What is the name of the drink, though?

And Gatorade and Powerade aren't energy drinks. They're sports drinks. And they're not necessarily bad, depending on the circumstances of your physical activity.

Yes, stuff some carbs and protein before diving into any physical activities. Not so much on energy drinks though, the only thing they are giving you is sugar rush.
