Postworkout/pre bedtime meals

With my work schedule and distance travelling to and from work, i only have the time to work out during the week from 11-1230 at night. I follow with a protein shake immediately (on my hour ride home from the gym) and am ALWAYS hungry when i get home. However, this is about an hour before i crash and go to bed and i am cautious about overeating since my body doesn't have alot of time to utilize the energy form a full meal at this time before it goes into the parasympathetic/rest stage of metabolism.
Im trying to overdue my calorie burn by about 200 calories a day, in order to bulk slightly without overdoing it. I tend to shy away from eating when i get home more than maybe a dry chicken breast and some fruit. Any ideas if this is good/bad, etc? thanks!

Everynight before bed I have whole, raw(unpasteurized) milk, with cytosports monster milk. This is a fantastic, slow assimilating blend of proteins, and it stay in my system for a very long time, and I have noticed great results since I started doing this, not to mention I have stayed incredible lean. Just make sure if you do this, you opt for raw milk from grass fed cows, it really does make a difference

ive got the protein shake down-i take a casein protein/GNC AMP anabolic protein mix shake. Im talking about after that post workout......when im freakin' starving twenty minutes before i go to sleep. Ive been going to bed hungry. It isnt that bad, but im starting to get sick of it. My main concern is eating a meal like chicken and pasta or steak and broccoli, like most people have for dinner, as my dinner around 1am (i dont have a normal dinner at 7, i mostly eat turkey sandwich- twice a day with granola, ect. mixed in.) I have a decent diet, i won't take the time to explain here because its mostly irrelevent to my concern. Im not looking for an answer like "this is best after a workout:". Im concerned with a higher calorie meal to replace what is lost during my workout directly before sleep. Thanks again, and thanks for the input supmuhwahteverurnameis....my protein shake keeps me incredibly lean too.

i understand what your saying, the only problem with consuming a large meal before bed is it doesn't really give your digestive system a lot of time to rest, protein shakes are ok because liquids are much easier to digest. The couple of times I've had large meals before bed, especially when they were high in fiber, I'd sometimes get stomache aches, and/or wake up and have to take a huge ****. But i mean if your starving then you should definitely eat, unless you could work out at a different time, perhaps in the morning?

can't work out in the morning/my gym is paid for by my work-which is an hour away from my home, and there are no showers at the gym/work. So after work is the only time to work out, and i get out at 1030. But thanks for the input. Ill try a larger calorie snack instead, maybe like a protein bar or something on my way home that can curb my appetite until bed. Thank again-
