POST Your Ride

I can settle this little comparison... but first, we need to buy me one of each.

I'll drive them, and let you know which one i like more in about a week... then i'll keep the cars.

Or, I'll just keep my Lotus and, as soon as an SLR owner posts here, we can compare notes ;)

Dont have a car actually.. dont need one really. But I have looked into buying a 728 bmw from late 99/00 if i am getting a car - thats when they looked the best and before the "plastification" of car manifacturing had gone totally overboard - when ze germans were still building their cars like tanks.

example of a good looking one

Wow now that is hard to imagine. I know that in certain places it isn't really necessary to have a car, but still.

If I could afford an SLR, I would still buy a Lotus. Most Lotus drivers would tell you the same thing. Don't knock it until you've tried it. If you think a driving experience is about how fast a car accelerates and what it tops out at, you are sadly mistaken imho

I'm not entirely sure I understand why the two are being compared to one another in the first place? Did I say somewhere that I thought they were in the same class or that one was better than the other? I thought I just posted a link for someone who had expressed an interest....

What shall we compare now - an MX5 and a Ferrari Enzo?

I wasn't saying that you were puting them in the same class. I was just pointing out the fact that they CANT be is all. I didnt really mean it as a retort to your comment, just kind of a general comment to the whole lotus thing.

To be honest, if i had enough money to buy an SLR i wouldnt either. I would buy a '07 Corvette Z06. Thats my dream car... Now I just need to learn how to drive manual.

I didn't mean to sound so defensive. I'm not saying my car is better than all other cars......actually, that is exactly what I'm saying but, its just my own, subjective opinion. lol

all this dreaming about cars, i forgot to post what i drive...

2005 Honda Accord EX V6 loaded.

I know its not anywhere near a dream car, but its a reliable decent looking car

Certainly not a chick magnet, but thats where my good looks come in.

1990 Ford Bronco
Seats 5
302, V8
0-60: 5 minutes +
12 MPG

1994 Ford Crown Victoria
Seats 6
302, V8
0-60: Same as the Bronco...eventually.
15 MPG

1994 Honda Accord
Seats 4
2.2L, 4 banger.
0-60: I dunno, 10 seconds?
25MPG

I paid cash for each car...and they all get me from point A to point B confortably. Anything more for me would just be a waste.

I don't have a car at the moment cause I don't have the money or the need for one (nick my mums toyota rav 4 when I do need one). I'm not really keen on cars, they are boring to look at and drive unless u have far to much money

My last vehicle was this beautifull honda hornet 250

unfortunatly I had to sell when I went of on my travels but I should hopefully get a new one next summer

in the states can u not get mini coopers - renault clio - vaxhaul corsa - citron C2 - pug 206 - fiat punto - ford fiesta - toyota yaris?...

OK, sorry about being a bit behind on this one. The yaris is here, as well as the Honda Fit (Jazz in EDM). There are also the Chevy Aveo, Suzuki Aerio, and numerous hybrid cars and SUV's here in the States. Our compact car lines are not anything to be amazed at. They simply provide a vehicle for the entry level market. The Fiesta is supercharged in Brasil, and the Opel branded Chevies there would do well here as well. French cars, even though thery are the most bought car in Europe statistically, are non existent here in the USA. So, no Megane, NO Clio V-6, no 207/307, no Citroen, no Fiat, no French nothing. Honda makes an awsome Type R hatch in Europe, and Ford has the S/R other there as well. But not here! Amercians like to feel "secure" in their large cars, so they think they need it. Plus. the steets/parking spaces are much wider than in Europe of Asia, which afford us to have Hummers and F-650's (yup there are such trucks).

As for what I drive, it's a 91 Mazda 323/Familia. 1.6 SOHC 8v that gets 37/30 mpg. It was given to me by my wife, cheap to work on, and reliable as h*ll. And not worth a picture.

Yeeeuh...homegirl gots da soccer mom van going on. :)

you can get mini coopers too...those are cute lol apparently really nice too.
As sad and ridiculous as this sounds, that's pretty much my dream car. I plan on buying myself one when I grow up. And it has to have those nice bonnet stripes at the front.

haha yeah it really is a nice car, and small! my sisters ex had one with stripes..go figure, we think he is gay lol (nothing wrong with gays, im related to one)

Nice ride Kitty! i drove my mom's minivan when i was first practicing driving, and had to take it on the road test...that was fun.

EDIT: actually i take that back, its a guy or girl car. (i forgot my bf wants one with stripes!) and it really is fast.

If you've seen The Italian Job ('63 or '03 version), those lil things are like rockets. I understand they were customized (in the newer one, at least), but DANG. They look incredibly fun to race in.

The older Mini's look smaller than the newer ones...very cute. :)

2003 cavalier 2 door coupe! 140 horses, 26 city, 35 highway, 0-60 7.5. I swer this thing only ways 10 lbs. Also, 1992 blazer, 170,000 miles, 8 mpg city, maybe 10 highway, 200 horses.

Fourtunately you don't need to Itallian Job out your Mini, if you just buy the Turbo charged model. Apparently those are freakin sweet.
