post-workout soreness

monday i did my chest and biceps...the next day, i was going to do shoulders and triceps, but my triceps felt sore from the previous workout....should i lay off them or do them anyway since i didnt directly work them?

yes; do not train muscles if they are sore; they still need to recover. You will not be able to train with full intensity if you are sore anyway.

say my triceps feel sore after i do benching/inclines/butterflies for my chest everytime...would i not even need to do tricep exercises since the exercises i do for my chest seem to have an effect on my tri's? but if my tris didnt get sore following a chest workout, then i would do my tri's?

are you doing compound exercises that work both chest and tris? Bench press is a chest work out with secondary muscles of triceps and shoulders. Inclines also hit the tris. I recommend you make your chest day your tricep day too. Doing bench presses work the triceps pretty hard; if you simply do these, you do not need to do isolation exercises for tris. Compound exercises are FAR more effective anyway.

hehe i forgot...try not to work out two days in a row. Ex: mon: chest/tris
wed: legs/calves/abs Fri: Biceps/back/shoulders. Teusday,Thursday, Saturday, Sunday OFF.
