Hi Everyone!!

I have been a member here since the day I decided to lose weight Jan-04-2009. Since I have been on a roll all of this month I have to start this diary to help me maintain my motivation levels to lose weight and tone up.

Statistics first,
Age: 25
Height: 5.2
Weight(begining 2009): 145 lbs
Goal/ideal weight: 120 lbs
Current weight: 135 lbs


I have been on 1000 calories per day since Jan 5, 2009 after I weighed myself and have been working out 5 days a week without fail. My workout includes 60 mins cardio and weight training. I also do belly dancing once a week. Yesterday was the first day when I ran a mile in 12 mins @ 5 mph!! REALLY happy about that and I think I might carry on doing that 5 times a week.

Problem:
Since I was a kid everyone has always 'lovingly' called me 'Jaadi' - which in my native language means 'fat'. So even when at one point I was skinny, I never realized that I was until very recently I saw some pictures of myself which were taken 3-4years ago!! Anyway, I guess it's not too much of a problem now that I'm working out and eating right.

So,I'm going to start today with the log for the day to give an idea of what I'm eating and doing. I've been doing that for 2-3 weeks on my phone already.
I'll post some pictures soon.

Food log for today:
Breakfast: Coffee+Banana+Apple: 215 Calories
Lunch: Low-Fat Chicken Noodle Soup+Crackers: 255 Calories
Snacks: Cheese Nips (100 Cal pack)+Coffee+ Halls Naturals: 184 Calories
Dinner: 2 salty pancakes (Indian) + Chutney : 142 Calories
Dessert: 1 Skinny Dipper: 80 Calories
P.S: Since I have a sore throat I've been downing 'Halls' without realizing that they are 15 calories/piece.
TOTAL so far: 877 Calories

Exercise: Running (5mph) - 112
Elliptical(50 Mins) - 375
Weights (Chest and Back) - 32
Situps - 15
Pushups - 15


Total CALORIES Burned: 549 Calories

Net CALORIES Today: 332 Calories

I doubt I'll be putting in my daily food log but I will definitely write in if I EVER cheat or go off-track!!

Also, I wish everyone luck for their goals and I'm sure we can all achieve our goals!!

Scrambledeggs - Thanks but that's one of my most horrific pictures. I'm surprised that I still had it. I usually delete ugly stuff like that. :reddevil:

The wine was Pinot Noir. It was a Christmas gift from work! :)

I'm now going to edit my Dinner and gym for today!

Also, I found out something today that got me to tears at first at the gym but now I'm OK. So I weighed myself today and I was back to 138.8!!!! I was like what the hell? I'm doing things perfectly well and I haven't cheated even once!! :willy_nilly:
BUT the guy told me that if I had my period due in the next 2-3 days there's going to be a weight gain of 3-4 lbs!!

I was on my knees thanking God. :hurray:

Yes, 3-4 lbs and some people gain 5 lbs but you're suppose to be back to what you were once you're done!
It doesn't stay! Do keep that in mind!
 
lol you know... i had my period about a week and a half ago... and i seriously didnt gain, i actually lost... =P hmm but i suppose everytime if different. im guessing i just didnt retain water like usual lol... but if i had my ego would have totally been crushed if i didnt know what you told us about the gaining during that time haha
 
Hmmmmm

I just started. I'm 5'4" or so and weigh 162. I think somewhere in the 130-140 range would be good. I'm a boredom and stress and mindless eater.


Oh wow! Your goal seems quite do-able! :)
I hope you get there ASAP! ! Are you doing anything particular to burn those calories?
 
@ Scrambledeggs - that's good exercise! I love to swim too but I haven't done so in almost a year or 2!!

@ AngelicaHope - Guess what? So I'm on my 3rd day of the monthly call (as you call it) and I weighed myself in the morning today - I'm 134.4!! (I'm sure I'll weigh even less tomorrow)

I'm so happy because I'm losing weight very consistently!!
I can't wait to get to 120 lbs and see how I look and feel... !
 
hehe awesome! its great you are losing during such a stressful time for your body =P and 120 must be sooo close for you now^^ im excited!! whoooh hit that goal girl =D
 
To be fair..

Weighed in today - I was 133.4 but to be fair I'll consider it 134.0!

I'm quite happy with my loss...TOTAL LOSS - 11.0 lbs...
I'm going to lose 14 more to reach my goal weight.

P.S- GHD 64 (64 calories) is the BEST if you're in to Beer and Skinny Dippers(80 calories) are the best if you love ice-cream! :)
 
OH MY GOSH you are amazing! You managed to lose 11 pounds in a month! WOAH. I'm so scared that when I get down to 140, my last 10 pounds I want to lose to get down to 130 will be H-A-R-D! But obvoiusly, you've proven that it's not so bad! I will think of you when I'm pushing the 140s! :) Next month, next month! Haha.

Also, I'm just wondering, is it hard for you to only eat 1000 calories a day? It seems a little low.

OK anyway YAY great job on the loss! :seeya:

OH MY GOSH you are amazing! You managed to lose 11 pounds in a month! WOAH. I'm so scared that when I get down to 140, my last 10 pounds I want to lose to get down to 130 will be H-A-R-D! But obvoiusly, you've proven that it's not so bad! I will think of you when I'm pushing the 140s! :) Next month, next month! Haha.

Well, 145 has been my HEAVIEST! So when I made up my mind to lose weight the only motivation for me has been the scale cuz I've had ONE person tell me - "Oh! are you shrinking or am I imagining things?" Frankly the key factor is working out and watching calories. You miss either of the 2 and its downhill.

1000 calories for me is not hard at all. I eat everything I want to and I workout so I can eat more but I barely manage to touch 1000!! I eat breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner! ...I can put up what I eat if you want and if it helps!

I want to put up my picture but I'm so freakin' scared that the difference won't be noticed!

How far are you from 140??? I hope you're close and working REALLY hard towards it!

I started at 185 on Dec 1 and it's been 2 months. Right now I'm down to 158 so I know I can MOST LIKELY get to like 149 by the end of February if I just keep up my routine and work hard. BUT MANNN i cant wait to see teh 130s!! THAT WOULD BE SOOO GREAT! im so tired of looking like a heffer! haha :)

Oh that's awesome! You're doing REALLY well with your goals!! :)

Ok -

Breakfast - Coffee (16 oz) & Oatmeal - 1/2 Cup with Walnuts and a splenda
Lunch - Soup & Salad - Soup has to be a low cal one and Salad with one tbsp dressing.
Snack - One (100 cal snack)
Dinner - scrambled egg whites and 2 slices bread

NOW total calories come to 800-900

My workout routine -
1 mile in @ 5.0mph (warm-up) 12-15 mins
45 Mins of Cardio - Stairmaster/elliptical/Bike/Floater (depends on my mood)

Weights - 30 Mins (either legs/arms/back&chest/) + Abs (15 mins)

10-12 push-ups a day which I plan on increasing monthly

So my Average burnout is 400 Calories a day :) I do my work out 5 days a week WITHOUT fail.

My height is 5ft 2 inches!!

Please let me know your routine too - I hope this helps!!
