Does anyone else have this problem? I think I have only poo-ed three times in four weeks yesterday's nearly killed me, I felt like I was pooing rocks. Never have I experienced anything like it and went to the pharmacy immediately.

Then I got frightened about taking anything but bought some natural granules.

Does anyone have recommendations for what they take? I'd prefer some sort of natural capsule....I am SO embarassed. Sorry if I have upset anyone.

Ouch

Hi Louise,
The Slimmers Tea from health food stores works a treat!! :D It's in a green small box. I only have half a cup with some sugarine tabs in it (cos it don;t taste to flash). It's all herbal and gets everything moving along pretty quickly. I have it in the morning once a week and it's great! It may give you a couple of tummy pains to start with, considering that you sound a little blocked up. But it will definatley do the job.
Good luck with it! And keep drinking loads of water.

Tea

Its by the Nutri-Leaf Brand and it's just called Slim Tea and next to the name it says Dieters Extra Strength. And I wouldn't necessarily follow the instructions on the pack that says ' drink one cup twice a day after meals' half a cup/mug is seriously enough!!! It usually takes a couple of hours until you start to feel it's true effect. Probably not a good idea to have it before bedtime!
It will definately work!

When I read this one... I thought it was saying pooing rocks! (Like it's the best, it's awesome, it rocks man!) LOL :p

I use a natural pill called 'experience'... metamucil works too and so does milk of magnesium...
if it continues talk to your doctor... I have the same symptoms.. I call the rocks... pooplets.

I am going to go to the doctor soon too, cause I seem to get immune to one thing or another. I am eating more fruits and veggies now more than ever and I am still having this issue.

Good luck to you!

Thanks for the graphic detail Louise... hehehe

Just kidding... I think we've all had this 'problem', and quite frankly I'd rather people talking about poo than periods.

I take 2 "Coloxyl with Senna" EVERY day. Otherwise I'm pooing boulders.

hope this helps.

asy :D

   This emoticon doesn't look embarassed enough - is there one that looks REALLY embarassed?

I love the tea too. The problem is that it is a laxative, after a while your body gets used to it and getting off it is hard. Its better to take a bulking agent rather than a laxative.

Your not alone I just brought this up in a weird conversation with
my mother n law who has a cure for everything! I keep hearing eat
more FIBER but I never had this problem before I started eating
healthy and I know there isn't lot's of FIBER in pizza cakes ice cream
blocks of cheese drives through, the crap I used to eat!
I take once a week like 3 exlax before I go to bed then I go pretty
normal all week. Thanks for the POO thread glad I am not alone in the
#2 world!Tammy:D

You need to increase your fiber naturally, with vegetables/beans/whole grains, and drink lots more water.

Louise,

Do not be tempted to introduce 'beans' or 'whole grains' into your menu and eat only the vegetables on your Personal Eating Program.

As I mentioned previously, one cube of the frozen spinach (allowance, each cube is about 40 gms) is a great laxative. Your Personal Eating plan and / or your Consultant will advise you on what bulking agent or fibre or (at worst case) laxative is OK for you.

We are all different, but my view is that we cannot expect what happened before to happen during the program.

Don't peel the vegetables, eat fibrous fruits such as oranges, drink the water at the warmer level of warm first thing in the morning, and have at least a couple of glasses at this time. 500 mls of warm water on an empty stomach will start the system very nicely for the day, believe me!

Cheers

Chelsea

Are you on the Cohen Plan?

Could I please make a blanket request? Could people NOT on the cohen plan (and who know nothing ABOUT the plan) PLEEEEEEEASE STOP giving advice in this board!!!

We are all on (or contemplating being on, or finished) the COHEN LIFESTYLE PLAN. Please feel free to READ our posts, and come across to the light if you see fit, but PLEASE stop giving advice here when it's contrary to our programmes.

It really doesn't help.

You guys have the WHOLE rest of the board to play in. We only just got our area, please don't derail people.

I know you're only trying to help, but sorry, you aren't.

I'm with asyoz on this one.

The Cohen's Lifestyle Program is not just about eating less.

Any mug can eat less food.

The Cohen's Lifestyle Program is not just about losing weight.

Any mug can lose weight.

The Cohen's Lifestyle Program is essentially about losing weight by losing fat stored in the body, and changing the way the body deals with food. This is a fundament readjustment and when finished, produces an 'ideal weight' which can be maintained for life.

This is a specialist program designed for each person individually.

It lists exactly what one person can, and cannot, eat during the course of the program.

The Moderators have been kind enough to recognise the popularity of this subject and to dedicate a whole sub-section of the forum to Cohen's participants.

It really is most important the posts and threads in this section not be jumbled up as general diet posts with general diet advice.

Thanks.

It may seem harmless, and would usually be good advice, but adding in foods not on the program - for whatever reason - would slow down weight loss and could even make the person unwell.

Thanks again

Chelsea - thanks for your advice - I eat spinach, including frozen spinach the most because of the high levels of iron and it hadn't helped. I'll try the warm water trick next.

Warm water

I agree, the warm water on an empty stomach first thing in the morning, usually gets things going just nicely for me.

I tried the herbal weight loss tea once...but because it's a laxative I ended up with diarrea and passed out ( sounds wierd I know but that's what happened( and had an epileptic fit.

My doc told me to never, ever do that again and recommend the warm water instead...and he sure was right cause it worked.

Thought I'd give this a bump back to page one as it is something that has come up frequently recently, and I daresay it will again.
I know that I have been having trouble myself lately and have been taking 3x metamucil caps every morning (I increased it up from 2). Before I started Cohen's back in September I was seriously considering that I had IBS, had had testing for coeliac and other bowel problems as it wasn't uncommon for me to go 3-5 times a day. The thought of only going 2-3 times a week on Cohen's seemed like nirvana, BUT, here I am 6 months down the track and I'm now not going enough (some people are never happy  ). It's the discomfort that gets to me not the fact that I haven't been, if you get what I mean.
Will try some of the suggestions made although I already have yoghurt 2-3 x a week, have included baby spinach in my meals and eat a variety of veges from across the list each meal # 2 and 3 so may have to visit the chemist and see what they recommend too although the slimming tea maybe the next step.
