Hello,

What a great idea. Keeping a diary on a forum.

I started my weigh in on Thursday: I am going to be weighing myself every Thursday.

Weight: 297 lbs
BMI: 44

Today I got up early and took a bike ride. I only went about five miles or so, but I got sweaty and my heart rate up.

I am also documenting my experience on youtube for anyone who wants to throw a little motivation that way.

Here is a current picture of me.

Welcome to your diary =] I look forward to seeing you progress.

Have you started counting your calories? I found it to begin with- writing everything down, and adding up your calories throughout the day helped me to get started. =]

Today was a great day. I only ate small portions and wasn't too hungry the whole day.

The family and I took a bike ride to the park, then we played soccer, did a little run and played in the play area. It was fun. It was also great to get the family to participate with some exercise.

I am just starting so I am taking things slowly, but we are off to a good start.

I made some videos of the day that you can check out on my

Oh I almost forgot. One of my main goals is to do a pull-up. Today I attempted pull-up #1.

Nice going PlumpDad. I checked out your vids, great idea. Looks like you have a really great family. I can't wait to see the transformation as the pounds melt away. Good luck.

Hey plumpDad,

Welcome to the WLF from another "plump Dad" .
I checked out your youtube channel . Great idea starting a vlog . I'm on youtube myself but I don't think I have the guts to video myself . I have the stomach, just not the guts *L*
I wish you the very best success and you'll get alot of support from this website.
I subscribed to your channel and will be watching your vids. Keep up the good work!

Paul

Thanks for the subscription. And it does indeed I will get the support I need at this forum. There does seem to be a lot of men on this forum which will help as well. Nothing against the women, they can be a real help as well.

Go plumpDad! You rock man!!!

Awesome Vlog btw.

Welcome to the forum! I know that it has been ridiculously helpful to me. You have a great attitude about it, and I am glad you are here. I love seeing a before pic where someone is smiling. That right there tells me that you have the attitude to make it. There are a lot of guys here that are very helpful, and just starting out too so just make yourself comfortable, and we will all do this together. You have another youtube subscriber also.

Hey there! Loved the video--especially at the end where your wife said that the only thing that kept her going was beating you..lol :rotflmao:

Keep it up! I think you're going to have a rapt audience before long.

Weekends - Oh the torture.

Saturday was good, I ate well and exercised. Sunday, well I had McDonald's and then for dinner we had pizza. OMG what am I doing. Sunday was busy for me. I spent the day cleaning out the garage and believe me that is a workout in itself, I was sweating all day, but my heart rate wasn't too high.

Monday I got back on track and ate sensibly, but I did sneak a snickers bar. Man, I am a closet eater I need to break that habit and fast. I played some basketball with the family rode my bike for a few miles and did some sit-ups and push-ups. I am sore this morning so I must have done something right. .

Thursday is my next weigh in and I am getting worried that I won't see any results. My eating habits need to be adjusted or I am not going to succeed. I hope I loose something on Thursday.

Good luck today everyone.

I include pizza a couple of times every week in my plan. Of course, it's only cheese pizza, and only a couple of slices. I don't see a problem with the pizza as long as it's sensible. In reality, we are supposed to be making a lifestyle change for life, and I know that I can't live without pizza for the rest of my life. You take away my pizza, you play with my emotions.

You have the right attitude about this, and realization is the key to the door. It is then up to us if we walk through it or not. I had to psych myself up big time before I started this and started being strict with myself. Wouldn't you know it? Reese's comes out with a peanut butter and banana cup 3 days after I started. I was pissed. I may just allow myself one of those cups once I can fully trust myself to do so. I figure Halloween may be a good time.

You are putting yourself out there plump, and that takes cojones. I tip my hat to you for that.

Oh my, not again. PlumpMom brought home another pizza for dinner. I know she wants me to succeed, but damn I have had pizza two out of three days. I was good and only had two pieces at first, then after a while I had two more. I feel so bad writing this.

For lunch I had a tuna wrap. It was yummy. I also had a diet coke around 3pm. I have cut down on my soda considerably, and I am proud about that.

I skipped breakfast, because I was running late. I did get a coffee though.

I had about 40oz of water.

I will have a new video up sometime this afternoon.

MasterofJune - Thanks for the kind words.

Hey man--I loved your vid about what you want to do once you lose the weight. I laughed and identified. Tell plumpmom to stop bringing home the pizza--if she doesn't want to cook, McDs has great grilled chicken salads that are only 300cals if you get the balsamic dressing. Tell her she needs to be supportive...:hug2:

OH, and just curious--are you from Alberta, Manitoba or Saskatshewan by any chance?

I have to ditto that statement. Maybe what your wife is trying to do is make you eat pizza so much that you get sick of it and don't want it again for a good long time.
I wish I could watch your youtube vlob, but my connection is so slow today. At any rate, stay positive, it has helped me heaps.

No I am from Central California. Does this have to do with my hat? It was a hot day, and it keeps the sweat from running down my face. No one likes my hat.:(

Rode my bike to work today. Got somewhat sweaty. I will be taking the long way home tonight, with a stop off at the park to do a quick run.

Breakfast - coffee, small muffin

Lunch - Went to Round Table Pizza - but I just got a salad to go. My office is pretty close so I just walked there. I hate not having my car at work, but it is worth the extra exercise I get with the bike. What is it with pizza this week.

Dinner will be a tuna wrap - I made a bunch of tuna yesterday.

Tomorrow is my weigh in. I haven't stepped on the scale yet, so I have no idea what to expect. Wish me luck.

wats happening plumpdad

checked out all ur vids on youtube, and i love your idea and execution so far

keep rockin it out man

Good luck on the weigh-in plumpDad.

I'm glad I'm not big into eating pizza because when I did eat pizza I could eat "A" pizza. The whole thing . I'd suggest the next time you get a pizza , take out the two slices you want to eat and after everyone else gets what they are going to have , either throw the rest away or wrap it up and put it in the fridge or freezer. Out of sight , out of mind. That's what I do when I make something I might be tempted to eat more than one portion of.
Good luck !

Actually, it was your accent! lol I have a Canuck friend from Alberta and you sound just like him..lol

Today was weigh in day. I lost 3 lbs. I am happy:)

Weigh In 08/30/07 = 294 lbs

PlumpMom was worried that I was having too much anxiety over todays weigh in, but I put myself out there with my videos that, I would have felt like a failure if I didn't lose anything. I know I could of eaten better than i did this past week, so I was worried.

Exercise:
Yesterday evening Samantha and I ran my 15 year old dog (we didn't get to far) and we all went for a bike ride to the park for some more play time. I also rode my bike to work and back home.

Goals for this week:
Exercise more strenuously and eat more responsibly.

All in all I am happy with the three pounds I lost. Hopefully I can keep my weight loss in that range every week.

I have a new video up - it is my weigh in video. I also thank this forum in the vlog.

GO PLUMPDAD!! NICE JOB ON LOSING THE 3 POUNDS!!:jump: :jump: :jump:

I love your vlogs, btw. They are great, you are so cute! Plumpmom better watch out! :jump: j/k!

Breakfast: Coffee w/ half and half, plain bagel
Lunch: Green Beans, Corn and Brocolli
Snack: Pretzels
Dinner: Salad (bacon, cheese, onion, chicken, cilantro) small chiken sandwich on wheat.

I had a diet coke, lots of water, 8 oz of OJ

Exercise: Nothing

It is hard to beleive that I have only been doing this exercise/diet for only 10 days. It really feels longer than that. I can't wait until I am a few months into my diet. I am so ready to be more fit, that I am anxious to speed things along.

My goals for today, are to jog, do some calisthenics and be nicer to plumpMom. We have been a little snippy with each other the last couple days.
