Hi, I am 14 years old turning 15 next month. I am about 5'5 and 200lbs
I gained lots of weight since september since i grew about 2 inches taller. I really want to loose weight. Even if i get down to about 180, i will be happy. I do not look like i weight 200. I look like i weight around 180. Now what should i do? I know some of you on here can help me. I drink water all the time. Also, i have a question. I was eating chicken/fries every day at school but a month ago i stopped.. ( i never eat breakfeast) which means during the week i wasnt eating breakfeast or lunch. And a month ago i weighted 195lbs. How is it possible that i gained 5lbs by eating less? please someone help me. thanks

It's important that you eat a balanced portion of food. That means waking up and eating breakfast. Don't skip it because the nurioushment you get from it, helps your body. The reason you gained weight is probably because you were undereating, i.e. not getting in enough calories so when you did get in any food, your body was holding on to every single thing that you've eaten. I can point you to some of the things that have helped me lose weight.

Firstly, I began monitoring what I ate, and then I figured out just how many calories I was actually consuming. To do this, I wrote down every single thing that I had eaten for about a week. With this information, I could see that I was taking in at around 3500 calories a day. My next move was then to sign up at both fitday.com and sparkpeople.com. Fitday, I use to log my food. Spark people, I use to give me ideas on what types of foods I should be eating.

I also went to go and see my physician to tell him that I was planning on going on a diet. He sent me to a nutrionist, and that nutrionist helped me determine the right amount of calories that I should be taking in. Lastly, I began incorporating exercise into my day. It doesn't require too much work. You can start off by going for walks for 15-20 minutes. Just get your body moving. Once I started getting fitter, I started going to my schools gym and getting in different types of exercise. I then began to incorporate weight training. Well, this is what has been working for me. There are people on the board that are more knowledgeable than I am. But I hope that this helps to give you an idea of where to start off.
