Please help :(

Hello, I am fairly thin.. and want to put on some weight on my arms because they are really thin..

I bought 2x 1.5, 2x 3, and 2x 5, dumbells...

I don't understand anything about reps, balbla.. so can someone tell me what I should be doing? at the moment, i'm just sitting here at the computer and endlesslly doing lifting the 3kg weights, but not much seems to happen.. I heard i should lift weights one day, then stop the next? Is this true? Please help :(

billy, if you can swing the dough, it would be an excellent idea to seek a personal trainer and let him work with you for a day. he'll be able to isolate your personal body type with the best workout for you. all i can safely say is that you should try heavy weights, something you have real trouble lifting, and only lift it about 8-12 times. rest, then do it again. rest, then again. always use good form, like if you buy a video of working out, watch them. 'pumping iron' with arnold schwarzenegger is an excellent motivator :D . eat plenty of protein and complex carbohydrates. the method of lifting i told you is, of course, debatable, so you can try it and see if it works for you. if not, try another method. :)

Doing push ups will help a beginner quite a bit. Not only will it help you with your core strength, it will tone your arms up as well. Once you become stronger you can do dips between two chairs at the house which will also help develop your shoulders and chest. Next would be push ups between the chairs for greater range of motion. Doing curls with your dumbbells will help a bit, but you will get better results from a complex exercise like push ups and pull ups because these work more muscles. This should help you tone up nicely as long as you are getting in the right calories and rest.

Read this:
You need to eat loads of healthy food. Plenty protein, carbs and healthy fats. You want to use heavier weights that you can do 3 sets of 8-12 reps with. Ideally get yourself to a gym.

The thing is, I don't 'enjoy' fitness as such, I am naturally thin, i eat healthily as it is, very healthily.. and I do have alot of meat, and I drink alot of milk..
I just hate wearing short sleeved shirts because my arms look scrawny and I want to just make them look more 'normal'...

Will 5kg Weights achieve this? Ideall forearms and biceps/triceps.. just standard lifting the weights?

wont help as much as push ups, pull ups, and dips. And 5kg is only 11lbs right, thats pretty light. Go heavier. Try for a weight you can't do more than 10-12 reps with and then use that for your workouts. Do 5-8 reps for as many sets as you can in good form. This is an increasing set/weight workout not an increasing rep workout.

Not at all. I wouldn't look at it that way. Use them for exercises that require less weight. Like working your lateral/posterior/anterior deltoids and for tricep kickbacks etc... Just be creative.
