Hi, I'm new to the site, just posted some before pics yesterday.
Here's what I've done to set myself up:
1. Made 3 2-week calendars to put on the fridge to track diet and exercise. Dividing my timeline into smaller chunks made it seem less daunting.
2. Looked up a calorie content site on the internet and made a grocery list including "perimeter" foods only. You know, only stuff you can pick up outside all the aisles at the grocery store? All produce, lean meat and some dairy, nothing packaged.
3. Laid out all my workout outfits so they're ready to pack in my gym bag every morning.
4. Cleaned the house top to bottom. I don't know why, but hanging out in a superclean house somehow makes you more focused. Maybe it's some sort of clean-slate parallel, cleanse your surroundings, cleanse your body. Does that make any sense to anyone else?
5. Vowed to make an entry on this message board at least once a week. This site is proving to be a great support system. I'm not one for group exercise sessions or any of that kind of crap, definitely more of a loner, but I certainly don't mind sharing this experience via keyboard.
I so hope I stick with this!! I'm supposed to be heading home from overseas in about six weeks, and I want to lose 25 pounds by then, or at least fit into my old (hot) jeans.
Wish me luck, I can't tell you how much I need it!!
