Pimples

This isn't a post I ever thought I would make but I need someone to clear something up for me.

Since I start working out I have had a breakout of pimples on the back of my legs. I'm not sure if their sweat pimples but their very embarrassing as they are seen when I wear a bikini.

I don't really know what other information I can give but I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem and/or what I can do to get rid of them.

Thanks

Do you scrub your legs thoroughly after your workouts?

well i could see the guys are really trying to help you out....LOL!

anyway, no i've never had any experience with your issue. it could very well be from sweating or some sort of heat rash. i would make an appt. to go see a dermatologist to get an accurate diagnosis and treatment. good luck with it!

or other skin related bug, like an infection from contacting other peoples germs on gym machines, or a reaction to something your legs touch at the gym, like cleaning solvents or sprays...

probably just due to the sweating, and heat though (i'm not a doctor so don't quote me on that)

I don't think its got to do with direct contact with gym equipment as I generally wear 3/4 length pants so i don't have direct skin touching and I shower straight after my workout.

I think it may have something to do with sweat but I'm just wondering if there's anything I can do to stop it

probably not. if its embarrassing for you then make an appointment with a dermatologist and have them check it out and treat it if they can. like I said it's probably the sweating (not a doctor so don't hold me to it) so either figure out how to stop sweating :p or stop working out.

lol so I'm practically stuffed!

Oh it's already Friday night there isn't it? :p

I am assuming you mean you don't want to pay for the health care to get the pimple problem looked at...I thought Aussies had amazing health care?

It's your decision in the end and we here can only recommend options to you. Just like our conversations in your other threads, in the end, there's gonna be some give and take and only you can decide what to give and what to take. :)

Don't worry. It's ok :p

I'll get it all investigated I'm sure its nothing more than sweat and there's a home remedy for it or something minor.

Thanks for your help :D

Cheers

You could have FLESH EATING BACTERIA!!!

Okay, seriously though, I had this problem too. What to know the cure, send me a picture.... JK, (disclaimer: I am not a doctor but this works for me and may not work for you). Does the pimples looks like clusters of rash? That was how mine looks like. What I did was shower after workout within 30 minutes, made sure to dry off completely, and here is the key: use lotion there. The rash maybe from dryness of all thing. It's winter and the skin is reacting differently and you probably take HOT showers. Use lotion, keep the skin moist.

You sound like a true dermatologist though! If it's dry keep it wet, if it's wet keep it dry, and if it doesn't belong there cut it off! lol..

It's currently summer here ( I live in Oz ). Do you have particular materials that my be worth staying away from when exercising? Any materials that will let my legs breathe to prevent too much sweating....(Just a question only if ya know)

Cheers

Sweat will be pretty much constant depending on how hard you work, maybe try and increase the evaporative capacity, loose clothing and wind.

Oh, soap goes without saying to.

Lol yes soap is a definate use in my bathroom :p thanks for the help.
