Pictures Of MY Gastric Bypass Journey

I went to my one week post appointment where they removed the drain that they had left during surgury and I feel so much better. I was down 15lbs. I am excited about the weight loss but I find myself thinking of food all the time. I am not physically hungery but mentally I am starving. I am looking foward to feb 7th. I get to start having soft foods again. at that point it will have been 4 weeks of just liquids.

oh yeeks 4 weeks of liquids sounds nasty lol
I know what you mean about the mental eating thing. get on top of it now because otherwise you're gona regain the weight later on :)

so are you gonna start up a thread in the diary section and keep up the news so i can keep track? :D
Im interested in the process on how things are going, what side affects and stuff. I have no idea how it works and im sure others who have considered this option will be curious to know.

Eating semi soild foods

I got to start back on semi solid foods. I was so excited, but I am having a hard time because you are only allowed a few foods like oatmeal, eggs, yougurt, soft potatoes, sugar free pudding. I can only get about 3-4 bites down at a time before I start to feel full and alittle sick. I have talked to many people who have has this surgery and they assure me it will get better. I have to follow this stage of the diet for 2 weeks than I get to add more foods to my list and than I think I do that for a couple of weeks and than add more foods and so on and so fourth. I am losing weight still pretty rapidly but when your only get down a very very little calories, I also have to take alot of vitamins so that to keep up my immune system, and keep my body functioning since i am not getting enough nutreints from food. Even though this is very hard I still believe I made the right decision for me.

mmm i could live on oatmeal i reckon :D

Good on you for sticking with it. It must be fairly hard i would imagine to eat only those foods.

I desided to post a few full length pic of my self. The pic in the pink shirt is before surg. I was about 275, and the pic in the black shirt was taken the other day. I am down to 250. I wish I had some of the pic from when I was 301 so you could see a bigger difference. I will continue to post pic of my progress.

You can see it's working :) I hope you're feeling well and the recovery is all up to par. You don't appear to be ill-looking from all this, which is a good thing.

How do you feel about your appetite ?? Has it decreased ?? increased ??

wow you can see the difference even with only 20lb.
How are you feeling about it all though? is it difficult?

Since I have had the surgey I have had a few complications and ended back in the hospital for a few days. I develped ulcers in my tiny stomach and could not keep anything down so I got dehydrated. I am feeling better now that I am on medication for the ulcers. I am still in the semi-solid stage of the diet but I am just happy to get something besides liquids. I have my 1 month post op appt. on feb 27th I will post my official 1 month weight loss after that appt.

eek id hate to do the surgery way because of complications. Least yours are fairly minor i suppose.

Cant wait to hear how much you've lost!

I went to my one month appt and I am 247. I have to start exersing more so I am going to start weight trainning and walking switch off every other day.
