Phoenix Diary

Me too. I have been using my phone again mostly & you think you have caught up with everyone, but you haven't. It takes a lot of time to go around everyone's diaries & reply appropriately in each one. Already today I have looked at 2 & thought that I'll go back later & comment as I'm short of time this morning. Don't be dependant on other's comments ReptileBoy. You are doing this. The best way of getting responses is to type in other people's diaries & show some interest in them too. We do care.

Hello there...we are here for you buddy. Just pop-in often...write down what you ate, your work-outs...we are all on the same boat here, people want to hear your struggles, as well as your success...but what Cate said is true...don't be discouraged if people don't reply immediately, you are doing this FOR YOU, no one should be more proud of your accomplishments than YOU...sometimes life gets busy for everyone, that doesn't mean we don't care. Congrats on losing 8lbs.......keep up the good work and don't give up!

It's hard to keep up with all the diaries, but if you take the time to visit others, they'll take time to visit yours. I hope you come back and say hi again.

I do visit others and leave comments. And welcome new people. Sorry if you think I do not.

Thank you Cate. You are right. I should not depend on comments from others. I am doing this for me only. I do type in others diaries and new people too. Sorry I felt upset from not hearing from others. I just felt bad that I got no comments from my first results post. But I understand.

Losing 8 lbs already is a great achievement ReptileBoy & one you should be very proud of. It shows that you can do this. One of our greatest success stories in here, I think is Mr Vee. Check out his diary when you get some time. The link to it is http://weight-loss.fitness.com/thre...ra-human-I-apparently-picked-up-along-the-way I would bookmark it & read in instalments. It's an awesome story of sheer determination(& also how not to date :smilielol5: ) He is also from Phoenix & is a great guy. You will get more support as you go RB. Keep up the good work. Cheers, Cate

Hi everybody. I have not been on because I have failed myself. Went off my diet and everything else. Had some depression issues and stuff. I have actually gained 15 pounds in one month. This is the biggest I have ever been. I am ashamed of myself.

But, I am starting all over again. Doing research now on things. I know I need routine, for both eating and exercising. I will devise a plan shortly. Have a couple people helping me too. Trying to decide the new date to start. Soon or make it a New Years resolution? Thanks everybody.

Sorry to hear you have had a tough time of it Reptileboy. Routine is good. We all have to replace old habits with new. We're here with you to support you along the way.

Thanks Cate! Any and all support will be greatly appreciated. I am getting ready to restart again soon. Buying items for my bicycle too so I can ride it everyday. A coworker, all he eats is fruit, chicken and sweet potatoes. Every day. I think I need some variety lol. Thanks again.

Hi Everybody,
I am still continuing to devise an exercise and meal plan so it is ready when I restart my lifestyle change. I bought 2 fitness bands to put on my wrist. This will help me with steps, calories etc. Monday I am taking my bicycle in for a tune up so it is ready to go. Also buying a bike computer to keep track of my distance when riding.

I really need to stick with it this time. I can not fail. Getting older now so much harder to lose the weight and to change. But I will do it. Thanks for your support and motivation everybody.

Hi ReptileBoy. I like the sound of your preparation for your lifestyle change. Don't set yourself unrealistic goals, that can lead you feeling like you have failed. Setting up small goals & breaking up weight loss into small chunks gives you a feeling of accomplishment as you progress. Have you worked out how many calories per day you are going to allow yourself or does your plan exclude any type of food? You can do this. We're here to support you. Cheers & Merry Christmas, if I don't catch up with you before then :santa:Cate

Hi Cate. Thanks for your words and support. I am not going to count calories at first. Will just start eating healthier. Chicken and sweet potatoes is what my coworker eats and he goes to the gym daily. I also plan to ride my bike everyday if I can. Also ordered a fitness band to help me. Merry Christmas to you as well.

It sounds like a plan that should work. Not counting calories if that works for you is much easier. I rarely eat white potatoes & much prefer sweet potato, but still limit it. I have been comparing the stats for both & the main difference I see between the 2 is that you tend to add more unhealthy stuff to white potatoes & sweet potatoes are very high in Vitamin A.

Riding your bike every day & eating healthy should get you the results you're aiming for. I'm looking forward to 2016. It would be lovely for us all to be healthy & happy. Cheers, Cate

Thank you Cate. Anxious to get started for the new me.

Hi everybody. A quick update. My fitness band arrived. The origional one i ordered had a lot of bad reviews. So i sent it back and ordered a reputable one. I got the fitbit charge HR. This one will constantly show my heart rate. Which i need when i exercise to get into the zones. And also not to over do it. My stepper arrives tomorrow. Will use that for cardio. Each week i should be able to increase my steps. And of course will do bike riding. And more walking. At least 10,000 steps a day minimum. All this should be a good start for exercising. With food just the healthy stuff. And will learn to eat 4 or 5 small meals a day rather than one big meal. I am ready to get this party started! Am excited to do all of this so i can lose weight and get healthy! Thanks!

Hi Reptileboy, just getting round to reading your diary, sounds promising! Don't beat yourself up if you can't get to 10,000 steps right away, maybe see what your old normal is first and work your way up?
Best of luck, LaMa.
