Petunia's Pursuit of Pleasant Plumplessness!

Goodness, WHAT a week. My fiance finally came home after a month in India, and before we even had a chance to really get snuggly, he had to hop on a plane and fly to Toronto. *sigh*

The air quality was horrible in Salt Lake the past few weeks, and I have terrible allergies, so I was suffering. Today was the first day I felt well enough to get back to the gym! It's amazing how lazy the body gets when you miss a few workouts - I was just trudging through my elliptical session, blah. Of course, it didn't help that the gym was showing Pirates of the Caribbean, again, for like the millionth time!

Anyhoo, I am back on track! I had a MAJOR cheat day on Saturday - note to self: always eat SOMETHING before going in to watch a movie, otherwise you will be irrationally hungry after the movie and do something stupid like, oh, I dunno, eat a cheeseburger and fries.

:newangel:

They were SO yummy though!

I've totally lost track of my deficit, and I haven't weighed myself since last week (it's "that time" and my weight is going to be off anyway, so why unnecessarily stress myself?). So I'll just start over, and start posting the daily tally again tonight.

Yesterday

Calories consumed: 1285
BMR: -2200
Elliptical: -650
Daily total: -1565

I know I should be all :hurray: "yay me" but in all honesty, I am TIRED today. It's snowing, and I just want to crawl back into bed and finish reading "In Defense of Food" (Michael Pollan). It's a great book - I suggest everyone read it and The Omnivore's Dilemma.

Have a fabu day! :waving: Buh-bye!

Hey you,
Good for you to starting over. Always keep moving and even when you fall of the wagon, dont get too negative, and just get back on. I reached a plateau back in May and have been on the down slide since. It just didn't seem like I was going to below 270... I started off at 320 pounds. I am now 277 from falling off the wagon. So its kind of nice to see you just figuring you will start over. Maybe thats what I need to do.

Good on you for keeping to treck along and not give up!

always

Aww, thanks natsky! :)

I keep reading about this dreaded plateau, and I can imagine it's frustrating. A personal trainer told me something about the plateau, that was encouraging. She said that while the scale may not show it, your body IS still working! Your metabolism is revamping to compensate for the lost weight, and in fact your body is busy restructuring - remodeling and rewiring, so to speak. It's tearing down all the fat, putting in new muscle. The blood flow that used to support the fat needs to be re-routed to support the new muscle. And, of course, muscle is denser & heavier than fat so you may find yourself getting a little bit leaner even though you haven't lost a pound.

Now, of course, keeping all of that in mind when what you really want is to see the number on the scale go down is easier said than done.... :toetap05: But don't give up!

I have to get my daughter to school - she's already 20 minutes late, haha! Oops, bad mommy.
