Petals diary

Lama it’s a nice refreshing snack for sure . Rob really bad Mexican food in Ireland . I cook some fajitas myself and chilli . If I travel in the states or uk I like to try Mexican food .
Cate I slept well hope I do tonight as today was stressful..

thanks Marsia I actually am looking forward to the freedom although I suspect the nest won’t be empty for some time but I will have more of a life for me .

I hope your day is a much better one, Petal xoxo

At least you won't be doing high school homework soon. Ugh. If the little birds don't fly the nest, teach them to make you dinner! Hope you sleep snug as a bug in a rug!!

Thanks everyone . The problem really is not the little birds . They are great and I am down to one only at home now . The problem is the great big bird .

I’ll scoot around the diaries on and off later .

Hey Petal, what is traditional Irish cuisine? I've eaten in a few places that claimed to serve Irish food, but they are rare here. And I am not sure how authentic. The only one I know of in Utah has a Taco Tuesday, I'm thinking that probably isn't real authentic. We know your whiskys and beers well, but your food not so much.

Good luck with your flock.

I don’t know what to say about ‘Big Bird’, only you know what to do about that. But keep making the parts of life that you control as positive as possible. I think you are doing that anyway.

Rob thank you so much that made me chuckle , Taco Tuesday is definitely not Irish .
Ok so probably the most common irish meals are bacon and cabbage , Irish stew ( traditionally made with lamb ) , Irish soda bread , potato cakes ( made with potatoes and flour and fried on the pan ) . Potatoes themselves are huge Irish food . So we have colcannon and boxty too . The older traditional Irish people love spuds as we call them with everything . Sweet Irish foods are Jacobs biscuits , Kimberly mikado and coconut creams and then we are famous for the Irish tayto . A crisp made with - you guessed it potatoes .
A full Irish breakfast is popular also consisting of rashers ( of bacon ) sausages , fried eggs , fried bread or toast , and pudding which is made with pigs blood and breadcrumbs and spices and stuff . Sounds horrid but it’s delicious .

Recent years we had the introduction of the breakfast roll although I don’t hear much about it these

I love black pudding - at least the Austrian version. I´m going to assume it´s similar. My favorite version is to dry-fry it in a non-stick pan, put it to one side, fry slices of apple in the same pan, stack layers of apple, black pudding, and either mashed potatoes or mashed kohlrabi into nice towers, then drizzle with fig mustard. So good!

Lama that sounds absolutely fabulous. It’s often served as a entree here with apple or other things .

I don’t know what to say about ‘Big Bird’, only you know what to do about that. But keep making the parts of life that you control as positive as possible. I think you are doing that anyway.
Em yes I am and I am being more vocal about things I want to say . For now I’m just trying to get through the year with it being as easy as possible . Changes will be afoot after that not sure what but changes .

I maintained this week .

I know I binged a bit thurs and fri and ate out a couple of times so I’m going to give it my very very best this week .

Hi, Petal. It sounds like 2020 will be a very interesting year for you. You're a smart cookie & I think you seem to be at a time in your life where you are learning to do more of the things that are good for you.
Maintaining for a week or two here & there is like holding the fort. It's a good thing. You are doing really well xoxo

I agree with everyone. You are really doing great doing your own thing and stating what you want! Regardless of what the big bird does, you seem in such a better space and it's wonderful to see!!! (I wish I could pinch the big bird's bottom so he would look up and see how awesome you are!)

I maintained this week
For someone in your place with weight loss that is not bad at all. Though I know this is advice easier given than taken.

Thanks for the list of Irish foods, I had to look a lot of them up. They looked interesting, I wish I was where some could be found. I had a kind of black pudding in London, I ate it with breakfast for several days before I finally asked what it was. That was probably good, I really liked it, if I had known it was mostly blood before tasting it might have been harder to appreciate. I assume it was something like your pudding. Y'all certainly use the word pudding differently than we do. Actually I always enjoy trying different cuisines and foods, I like most of them, not all, but most. I am sure I'd like Irish.

I also liked the video, funny. I guess that's Ireland's answer to our egg mcmuffins, probably better.

Cate I am definitely learning to stand up for myself more . Thanks Marsia x Rob I suspect you had black pudding in London as the British like it too. Also the Scottish tradional food is haggis , and also clootie dumpling ( not sure of spelling ) . Also they used to make porridge and store it in a drawer . Wierd .
The traditional Irish food is nice and full of butter so not great for the waistline. It was fine back when people only ate their 3 meals and were a lot more active . They walked and cycled everywhere.
Oh yeah fried cabbage is another favourite.

I have been looking over what I ate last week. I know I had my little chocolate biscuit mini binges and ate out but I have eaten a lot of grapes . I used to just limit to 12 a day . A box lasts me all week . But for some reason my husband brought 3 boxes and one was the most delicious green ones I ever had and I polished the box off ( he doesn’t eat due to diabetes ) . He thought I could have as many grapes as I like . Myself and daughter have finished a second box and there is a third box to go . I am going to freeze them later in mini portions .

There are a few more things like an extra portion of cheese an odd day . So I revisited my food journal on my first month and I’m going to replicate it now for a week or 2 . See if I can get this 2 stone mark by today 2 weeks if not before .

Frozen grapes, dropped one a time in champagne! Errr... sorry... I just read the above, and that was the thought that jumped into my mind.

See if I can get this 2 stone mark by today 2 weeks if not before .
Which two stone mark? Regardless, it's good to see you (if I'm reading right) gradually transitioning into maintenance level, and also (if I'm reading right) deciding exactly what you're wanting from your immediate life, and defining the steps to get it. Go you, for both - well, for all three if the grapes-in-champagne concept appeals!

I had no idea you could freeze grapes! Looks like keeping a food diary is paying off for you: recognizing patterns can be so helpful!
