What are you thoughts now regarding this new job op? I say go for it!! (I think you said its only part time?) In which case your pretty much breaking yourself in gently, but yuou'll have to be REALLY strong to resist all that tasty naughty stuff you'll be baking!!!
 
Thanks everyone - I had pretty much talked myself out of applying. :eek: It's kind of weird putting everything out there for everyone to read. I can be a pretty big loner - having people to cheer me on is an odd sensation. Really wanted to cry when I read all those nice words... and yeah I owe all of you a beer. :D:D

I'm going to go ahead and apply... if it sucks I can just find another job or go back to full time freelancing.

HB - I have an Associates of Applied Science in Graphic Design but I'd like to go back and get a Bachelor in Fine Art or maybe design with a fine art specialty.

Tri - I live a good driving distance from USI (In Evansville). I'm not sure if they have an adult program, but my other college credits should transfer... I think. Guess I need to start checking into that am give myself a deadline.

hmmm.... wondering if it cost much to send a box load of different breads down toward houston......

If the job is a bust you wont be out much other than your time.... I have had jobs i kept for years and there are several that only lasted a few hours.
 
Ohh a bakery, how tempting :p I know some people who have worked in bakeries and they always said it was a good job.
 
Just a quick pop in because I have to go clean house...

I drove by the bakery and their help wanted sign was gone... guess I debated on that one a bit too long. A little disappointed but I decided to apply at my second choice - the book store! The application process is just annoying, it's like they take every darn trick question in the book and slap it into a 37 page crap fest!!

I hope I did okay - I was distracted by the telephone and my sister & niece dropped by so I was talking to them too.

The waiting makes me nervous.
 
you might still want to pop into the bakery - talk to the owner/manager saying you noticed that they had a sign in the window... and were they still hiring...
 
pequin - I work walking distance from ISU, and also have my BS from ISU. They have a great Correspondence Study and Internet program. USI does as well though! Good luck in all that you do. You can accomplish ANYTHING that you set your mind to!!!!
 
Good luck pequin! I agree with Mal too...it's always a good idea to have a few jobs in mind...in progress...I've found it always gives me more confidence! If you get two offers, that's even better!
 
A bookstore!? AWESOME! I LOVE bookstores. I hope to own one someday. *OHD starts to loose focus and becomes lost in her daydream* Let us know what you decide.
 
Ooh, my dream is a bookstore cafe. My new porn is better homes and gardens diabetic living magazine. Its a quarterly...but wow, excellent recipes!
A bookstore sounds fabulous P! I hope they hire you. In the future when I own my bookstore you can work there, I'd hire you in a second. I'd even let you do ordering for the cookbook section.

the only thing worse for me than cookbooks are gadgets.. those are like my ... ummmm.. battery operated devices... :D yeah - the old battery operated boyfriend.. good ole BOB :D (only bob is a lazy sob, doesn't ever take out the trash...

Owning a bookstore would be awesome.. I'd love a bookstore/cafe thing... it'd probably be acookbook store :D
