Done. Posted in the Vegas thread. Make sure you're not doing everything girlie! This is yours AND my challenge! Throw some shiznit my way! I will gladly figure out the hotel arrangements if you haven't already and I'm going to email you so we can figure out the itinerary for the weekend.... OOOH VEGAS IS COMIN' UP FAST!!!! GO HOOTERS!!!!

LOL! Thanks girl!

I'm so glad you suggested rotating the bonus challenge. Now I can step back and let everyone else get creative. Whoo hoo! Takes a load off for sure.

I was hoping you'd get a lot of feedback on the alternative points. Haven't seen much, but like I said, I think picking any of the bonus challenges would suffice if no other ideas get suggested.

I keep seeing that your surgery is coming up, what day is it exactly? You're so brave!! Good for you for getting it done. Don't they take out some fat too when they tuck? You're going to be abs of steel woman!! whoo hoo!!

Girl I'm so excited for you. I can't wait to see how it goes, then you can tell me how the recovery process really is so I can make the decision for myself to get it done or not. I'm pulling for you girl. Mommies need to stick together. lol Take care of yourself and don't push yourself before you're well enough. Good luck!!!
Thanks LeeLee! I will DEFINITELY let you know how it goes so you can decide. To be honest, I'm not as worried about the pain of the surgery as I am about the pain when they pull the drain tubes out... some people say it hurts like hell... I had a drain tube in my knee though and that didn't hurt so we'll see... I'm really hoping for a speedy recovery cuz I have to start coaching soccer 2 weeks later! OUCH!

Holy hunnies- surgery is comin up fast! I'm so excited for you :)
Thanks Jess and yes it is! My consult with the doctor is tomorrow... I'm a little disappointed that I didn't lose the weight I wanted to first but... it will all workout fine still I think. I don't really have any fat on my stomach because of a previous procedure (see my reply to MJ below) so I'm thinking the extra weight I'm carrying isn't belly weight anyway lol... My stomach is SOLID, just sticks out lol!

It is nice that everyone is coming up with bonus challenges isn't it? And they're all GREAT so far!!! As far as alternative points go, I think definitely water... maybe the fruit and veggie thing... maybe the article on exercise/health/nutrition? No one has to really read them lol ;)...

Surgery is August 8th, NEXT FRIDAY!! I don't know if they normally take fat out too but I actually had lipo on my tummy a year ago hoping that would do the trick on my pooch. I was hoping to avoid this more serious surgery AND the big ol' scar. Well, it didn't do anything so the doctor agreed to take what I paid and put it toward the tummy tuck... SO... basically, there is NO FAT on my tummy... just a ROCK SOLID POOCH LOL!!!

Hey there,

How exciting! Your surgery is coming right up! I think the scar is usually concealable with even a bikini bottom usually. I guess it just depends on how badly you scar (genetically). I saw my friend's breast reduction scars a few months ago (she'd had it done a few years before..) and they were nothing. Very very light and thin. I bet yours will be fine, even though your having a tummytuck...

Have a great night,

Sam

Hi Sam! Yeah, I'm pretty lucky in the scar department. They fade and smooth out really well... and you're right, the scar will be below the bikini line so it will be something only my husband and I see... I'm sure he'd rather see that than his current option (lights out baby lol). And I would rather have the scar and be able to wear a bikini again than have this belly... I know I may seem old to some people, but no reason I can't shoot for MILF status right? ;)

Thanks Humps! :D

Well... after visiting the doctor on Thursday, my surgery date got bumped back a few days. It is now August 12th instead of the 8th. And the doctore said absolutely no activity for the first 2 weeks... after that I can go back to working in the office... I have to wait 6 weeks before I can do any exercising. He said that if I try to do too much too fast, I could swell and effect the end results of my surgery so I'm going to have to try to be patient and take it easy... I want my belly to be freakin' F-L-A-T!!!

This bonus food challenge has really been a challenge for me this week. I've come to realize that there is a reason, at 35 years old, that I haven't put certain foods in my mouth... yuck!!! And my weight is not down again. I know it's because of my diet. I REALLY need to get back on track with diet. I realize it's been a month already since I've eaten right and lost some weight... Gotta go back to my "Just for today" motto...

Well, not much else to say today... Hope whoever reads this has a great weekend. :)

yep, one day at a time hun...thats the only way to do it I guess....i hope all goes well for you w/ the surgery :)

Fast food is the devil!! lol. You've got another week to bust ass, I think ya can do it just fine :) And I agree with you- I'd rather have a scar and a bikini body than a belly. Only nine more days!

Thanks Humps! :D

Hey Girl!!

Not sure if you know this about "tummy pooches" but most Americans carry between 5-15 pounds of colon plaque in their intestines, because they don't eat enough fiber to cleanse out the mucous that builds up from putrid meats, dairy, and other mucous foods. I heard Elvis had close to 60 lbs of it in his colon when he passed. This will definitely cause pooches, and can't be removed by exercise alone.

I noticed you didn't get in any fiber points the week we did the fiber challenge. If you do a colon cleanse, I bet that will also help with the "pooch" for sure.

Here is a link to pictures of this "colon plaque." Alta and I call this a poo baby.

I hope your surgery goes fabulous!! Go girl!!

Yay! I'm so excited! I'm hoping that while I'm "down for the count" I can ween myself from this evil fast food... lots of soup and water for me for sure!

Thanks Alta! I know some people might think surger is cheating but, considering that my ab muscles are completely seperated and I can put three fingers between them (Gross), I look at it as a necessary procedure. My abs will be flat, I'll be able to train them to six-pack status and my back will be well supported again... all good things! I honestly think it will help with my motivation to get the rest of me in tip-top shape as well, so I'm ready to get it over with and get on with life lol... In the mean time, you have a few weeks to get WAY ahead of me so you better use that time wisely cuz the MINUTE I get the okay from the doc, it's on like Donkey Kong girl!!! ;)

I think I just threw up in my mouth a little bit... that is honestly one of the nastiest things I've ever seen! Is that REALLY what poo babies look like? Wow!

I definitely notice a different in my "pooch" when I eat clean but a lot of it is definitely caused by the seperation in my ab muscles. When I eat clean, I probably look 4 months pregnant; when I'm bloated and full of sh** foods, it's more like 6-7 lmao!

Hmmm.... I don't know if I can do the poo baby thing if that's what comes out... I would probably think I was dying!

Hrm. Very interesting, this surgery business. Hope that works out well for ya.

Where might one get more information about these "poo babies"? Around here, I mean. Better run a search...

LOL! I know it's hard for people to accept what lies within. If you aren't getting in enough daily fiber, you most likely have a few pounds of that inside of you. Eating clean doesn't always mean you are getting enough fiber, and that the fiber is pulling out the old plaque stuck inside the colon.

It's not easy for people to accept that death begins inside the colon. Colon cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer in women, and it could be impacted by people having toxic buildup and not getting enough fiber in to clean out the colon funk.

I would not be afraid of cleaning out your colon, it will only make you healthier, and even if you see a poo baby, you'll be happy it's out of you, instead of still stuck in there.

Myth: A high-fiber diet will prevent colon cancer

Not even if you eat a pine tree, cones and all. Research published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute showed that no matter how much fiber study subjects ate--from 10 grams a day to 27--it did nothing to reduce their risk of recurrence of precancerous polyps. "The fiber hypothesis dates from an old epidemiological study," says James E. Allison, M.D., a professor of medicine at the University of California at San Francisco. "It was presumed that the shorter intestinal transit time accompanying a high-fiber diet decreased a person's exposure to potential carcinogens."

Reality check: Despite the myth, keep eating a high-fiber diet (it can help lower cholesterol and prevent diabetes), but don't count on it to cancer-proof your colon. For that, you need folic acid. Studies have shown that this B vitamin significantly lowers a man's risk of colon cancer, with research from Louisiana State University linking it to a 60 percent reduction. If your multivitamin (or cereal) doesn't contain at least 400 micrograms of folic acid, buy one that does.

An article I read this morning. Thats not to say fiber isn't good for you though.

I agree that there is debate amongst benefits of colon cleansing and if it effects colon cancer. Regardless of who says what, there is a reason why this cancer epidemic is getting worse in America, and we have to look at how our diets have changed. There has to be a correlation to the environment, as well as genetic factors. Just my opinion.

However, my reasoning for bringing it up, is that it is fact that most Americans have pounds of waste buildup in the intestines. Anyone looking to lose some easy pounds of poop, and to feel better should clean out that colon.

"The typical colon can hold bacteria and be a host to numerous parasites and toxins. If left alone, these toxins can create an environment that is conducive to cancer. Colon cleansing can effectively remove these bacteria, parasites and toxins so that the colon functions properly. Keeping the colon clear and free of debris can help the body dispose of waste quickly and thus help reduce the chance of cancer.

Colon cleansing can be a great start to a clean and healthy colon. Once you cleanse your colon you need to make dietary changes that will help keep the colon working properly. This includes avoiding processed foods and those with additives as well as increasing the intake of fresh fruits, vegetables and whole grains.

1. Removing bacteria from the colon.

Cleansing helps to eliminate the host of bad bacteria that often accumulate in a colon. When waste is not eliminated quickly it can turn putrid and become a breeding ground for bacteria. The bacteria can then be re-absorbed into the system causing health problems and possibly cancer.

2. Removing toxins that accumulate in the colon and are absorbed back into the body.

Toxins come from many dietary sources. One of the most common ways is through eating processed foods and those with chemical additives and preservatives. Colon cleansing washes away these toxins to prevent them from remaining in the system where they can cause problems and lead to cancer or other colon disease.

3. Removing mucous buildup.

Mucous can build up on the inner lining of the colon. This mucous can make it impossible for nutrients to be properly absorbed through the colon lining. Mucous can also contribute to improper colon function. The colon cannot properly expel waste when thick mucous is blocking it from working well.

4. Removing parasites.

The colon can be home to many toxins, bacteria and even parasites. Parasites and their eggs and larvae are often present in the human colon. While this doesn't pose a problem under normal circumstances for those with weakened immune systems or those with other diseases the parasites can cause disease.

5. Allowing for frequent bowel movements.

By quickly eliminating waste from the body it does not stay stagnant allowing toxins and bacteria to build up. Instead, frequent elimination keeps the colon clean and healthy and protects it from waste that stays too long in the system.
