Pain in lowerback right above my butt.

I'm playing basketball and I grab a rebound and land in a weird position. My back felt a bit odd on the moment but I didn't think anything of it. After the game, in my lowerback of my leftside only, right above my buttcheek, it is HURTING so bad I can barely walk.
Anyone know what could've happened? Did I pull a muscle or something?

Update: I went to the doctor and he said it is a "lumbar sprain" which means I have to take anti-inflamatories for 2 weeks, have to see a physiotherapist, and cannot lift or do any sports for 2 weeks. I can't believe this has happened, I am so unlucky; I have just recovered from 1 month off of anything because of mononucleosis and now the first thing I do is get this! :S

I had pain in a similar area to that, but it ended up being my sacroiliac joint. Very painful, and I had to take some time off. Anti-inflamatories and rest were the answer there as well. Good luck.

When u get healthy again look into incorporating some Good Mornings into ur routine. Very good lower back workout and helps get it anti-injury strong.

Let it heal man, dont do anything that you wouldnt normally do unless prescribed. I got dumped pretty bad onto some rocks and broke my tail bone so I can understand what it is like with pain in that region.

Use the time to do some reseach and plan what your next angle of attack is going to be. Make use of the time.

For a month now I've been taking anti-inflammatories and doing a lot of stretching and its improved a TON, I feel 100% now. I'm so happy I never thought it would heal completely.
