This is my first entry, my first ever on a forum! :newbie: I started P90X 3 days ago. Let me tell you a lil about myself: I'm 5'2", 157 lbs (as of Saturday). I am an Army Wife :patriot: of a deployed Soldier (practically a single mom right now). I'm going to school for nursing (almost done!) and find that being a mother is the best job... My hubby comes home in about 5 months, counting down every second! My goal is to lose 20 lbs by the time he gets home. I think I can do it in 5 months.
So far the video's have been KILLER!! My body is still hurting after starting 3 days ago! Now I have ALWAYS been into training. I was a runner up until I got into a car accident which left me with herniated discs throughout my back. Until then I do mostly elliptical. My daughter just turned a year old so I was a little held up from working out for a while but being pregnant didn't stop me. P90X has me sweating up a storm, I could literally ring out my shirt. I am VERY anxious to see how I look 90 days from now!

Hello!!!

Wow how exciting! You get to see your husband in 5 months, I don't think you need any more motivation than that! You can dooooo it!

I've actually heard lots about the P90X program.. i don't know if it's landed here in Australia yet though. Best of luck to you! =)

Good luck with the P90X, I've heard awesome things about it from other peoples journals on the forum!!

Wow 5 months is a really long time, I bet you're missing him terribly... Plenty of time to get that weight off though, we'll all be here cheering you on!!

Welcome to the forum :sifone:

Good Luck!! You should look completely awesome! Just eat well and challenge yourself :) Are you doing classic or lean?

Ok... I'm down 3 lbs the first week! And I can already tell my clothes are fitting better. So far, I'd have to say P90x is one of the best investments I've ever made. I find that talking to my husband is motivation. He told me today about how he is working out some soldiers (who they call the "fat boys") and he had them doing sit-ups. While they were doing theirs, he put on a 35 lbs weight vest and did his! I'm like omg, thats killer! Ab ripper x is probably nothing compared to what he's doing but my gosh it hurts! He is planning on putting on 15 lbs of muscle by the time he comes home so I DEFINITELY need to get my butt into shape. This is great motivation for me! :drool5

I am doing P90x lean right now and I'm finding it HARD to stick to a diet! I work in a daycare part-time but when I'm not working I'm at home bored with my 1 year old and I turn to FOOD!! Ugh, wish I could find something else to occupy my time. I try to do things with my daughter (walks, park, swing, etc.) but that only lasts so long. Any advice?? I'm definitely an emotional eater and not having my hubby here makes me a lil emotional (AND STRESSED to say the least!).

I'm sure you're very motivated with him coming home & even seeing his improvement.

My boyfriend was deployed in 2005 and came back ripped (he also used steroids over there though) but that has kind of turned to flab now. We are working to get back into shape now! I have very similar stats to you at 5'3" and 152 pounds (as of today! :D ) and I am contemplating doing p90X as well. Mike has the program but it's a matter of motivation with a video. However, you have my interest peaked & I may just have to join you on your journey! Lets do this! I'll start tonight..

& be sure to check out Tally29's results, she has similar stats to us and is already pretty far into the program! Definitely an inspiration.

I'm glad to see there's other women in my shoes (almost exactly lol). I'm loving these videos. I found it a lil hard at first to do them everyday but now I actually wake up in the morning looking forward to doing them! I would love to see someone else along with me doing them, that would be some extra motivation for the both of us. Please keep me posted on your progress!! :hurray:

We should definitely hold each other accountable, that's just what I need! My boyfriend, Mike, tries but he isn't always as on track as I try to be! :patriot: Maybe I need someone on the outside. What schedule of the DVDs are you doing? I will follow the same track as you. Yay, Im feeling reinvigorated!

I woke up sore this morning and got convinced to me go ahead and do Plyo before our day got started and OH MY GOD. My balance for the squats and the jumping moves is rough. I can't wait till I'm able to do every part of this DVD because honestly this morning was super frustrating. Hope you're staying on track even though it's the weekend! Hope to hear from you soon. :)

Can anyone tell me if you need any special equipment like weights or anything like that to go along with the dvd's? I have been thinking alot about doing it myself lately, and have access to the dvd's just wondering if there was anything else I needed to have to go along with them!!! thanks!

You NEED dumbells, pull up bar or resistance bands and a yoga mat

Optional items would be push up bars, but they give much more range of motion and make it alot easier on your wrists or if you have hexagonal dumbell you can use them as push up bars.

A chair is needed, yoga blocks if your want more range and reach etc, a heart rate monitor and if my memory serves me right i thinks thats the main things to have!
