Over 40lbs Lost.

My name is Vincent Niccoli. I'm a 6'1'' 3rd year University student at the U of S. I joined these forums to show the progress I have made in my weight loss. About 2.5 months ago, right around the time finals ended, I was getting close to the highest weight I have ever been. I've bounced back and forth quite a few times now 190 --> 228 --> 213 --> 225. I have seen some good results but I always fall off the programs I set myself on. I wasn't ever in terrible shape (I could benchpress 255 when I was 225), but I was definitely not healthy. I have been working a summer job away from home that has allowed me to stay on track. This is because I don't have access to any fast food, and I have completely removed all sugar beverages from my diet. I was Extremely motivated to lose weight when I got up here. I started my diet and exercise on May 16thish, and got serious about it around May 21st. I was around 225+-3 pounds at the start of May. Unfortunately I didn't buy a scale here until the end of June. I did however take pictures starting May 30st and once a week on Wednesdays for every week after that. I have my 8th set of pictures tomorrow that will show a 7 week comparison of my transformation. I will most likely post in the before and after section the results so far. Here comes the money! The morning of July 19th, I looked down at the scale to see 189.00 !!@!@#! My first time seeing under 190 in almost 3 years. I was slightly dehydrated for the weigh in but w.e. I have lost 35 pounds in just over 2 months time. I kept track of my body size using a tape measure and recording various locations once a week. I also kept track of my calories for 6 weeks straight, with very very strict counting. I was having around 1600 a day.

I copied this from the newcomer section because it contains most of what I wanted to say here.

EDIT - Some new pictures and further progress, some more information in other posts. Now at 181.4lbs.

I have a picture for every week starting May 30st but I didn't know my weight at that point, only an estimate.

I need help figuring out a goal weight, so If anyone has any input in regards to this let me know. Pictures will probably help. Edit - 178.00

The First picture I am probably around 216-220ish on May 30. The 2rd Picture is from July 20th at 188.8. The 3rd picture is at 181.4 taken August 13th. I will probably toss some more in-between pictures on here once I'm at my goal weight. :):)

Congrats to you dude! I think if you get to between 180-185 you should be good. You are building good muscle mass. Keep up the good work.

Phenomenal job man! You look awesome and your focus is really amazing. 35lb in 2mo?? Wow!

You look awesome and I'll bet you feel awesome too :) Congrats on getting in the 180s - I can't wait to see that happen on my own scale :D

As for figuring out your goal weight. Hmmm, well, the thing I've done is just Google'd several BMI calculators and tried to just get an average estimate of where a good point for me would be. It's tricky though, since everyone's activity and physical fitness levels are different. The calculators just do a rough estimate it seems, but at the least, it may give you an idea of where you should be :)

Good luck with everything and, again, great job!

Welldone guy :hurray:
You look fab :iagree:
35 lbs in 2 months is a great thing, would like to know your diet and physical activities in these 2 months....
Love life , love yourself, keep smiling :seeya:

Thank you all Very Very much. I agree that a good goal weight should be around 182.00:) Under 10 pounds to go!
As for my diet and physical activity for the last 8 weeks, its not something that I would recommend to everyone. For about 4 weeks straight I kept my calorie intake under 1600 a day, using very strict counting.
For the first 4 weeks on EVEN days I did sets of 10 wind sprints, starting at about 60m and eventually getting to around 100m. Then a 300 muscle 15 minute routine with judo pushups, bw squats, and sit-ups. Then an ab ripper 15 minute ab routine which I still struggle at completing properly. Usually before and after the sprints I would do a few jogging laps, and a 15 minute cooldown walk.
On ODD days, I was running 5 miles in intervals of jogging/walking. I have been slowing increasing the amount of time that I run in comparison to the walking time. I'm currently running 4 laps then walking 1. I was then doing a weights routine. Bench press Incline/Flat, rows, bicept curls, chin ups, shoulder flys, shrugs, skull crushers, triceps press, Dips...Pretty much a full upper body.

For the last four weeks I changed it up a little bit..Even Days = Running 5 miles, then ab ripper x routine.
Odd Days = Weight lifting routine.

I've only taken 4 break days since the start of my program:) looking forward to taking more now. Side note - Throughout the whole thing I was being more active then I would be regularly in the fall..ex) Whipper snipping for a few hours, playing frisbee, pass with the football, trying to walk a bit more..

This is obviously very rigorous, and not the easiest way to lose weight, but It showed fast results, which kept me motivated to push harder. Eating 1600 calories a day for 4 weeks straight is not easy! and probably shouldn't be done. Considering that I was burning upwards 3500 some days. The hardest part was the running...When you know you are low on carbs, and you are using fat stores to give you energy to run...which gives an intense feeling of exhaustion.

I am bringing my calorie intake slowly back up to around 2000, but I plan to continue losing weight for another 4 weeks or so, just a little slower then I was. From there I will find a good maintenance intake for the amount of activity I'm doing:)

Feel free to ask any more questions, and thanks again! You guys are Great! I just uploaded a new picture today, the changes aren't as drastic obviously, but some can still observed!

Also, I forgot to mention that I have been taking two multi-vitamins a day, everyday. And three weeks ago I started having Whey protein powder(with water), and Fish oil capsules for the EFA's :) twice a day.

You look ridiculous Awesome! Maybe go to 175-180 if you even feel the need to go further, but you look great as you are.

Hey Guys and Gals

Thanks you all so much! The support is amazing!

I have a bit of an update to share; It's been 3 weeks since I've posted a picture and I'm still dropping some weight. I was 181.6 this morning and my abs are finally starting to show a little bit. I have lost over 40 pounds now, If I get under 180 I can call it 45!! It's odd at how many times I've had to change my weight goal.. When I started the diet I was calling out dropping to 205lbs as a goal, and then it was under 200, then 195, then under 190. Now at 182 I can proudly say that I am more than comfortable with my weight and body image. However, I am setting my final and hopefully last goal at 178; from there I want to maybe decrease body fat a bit more by trading fat for muscle.

My health and physical fitness has gone through the roof! I have ran 10 miles(x4), 7.5 miles(1x), 6.25miles(3x), and 5 miles(2x) in the last 3 weeks. I have been eating quite a bit more lately, and haven't been counting the calories as strict as I was, but I still managed to drop weight just eating healthy foods with a lot of exercise.

One thing that is kind of a bummer, is the fact that I'm going to have to buy a whole new wardrobe of clothes because my waist dropped like 6 inches+ haha

Anyways, I will be posting a picture within the next couple days to show my further progress and changing the title of the thread to 40 pounds lost! And it's only 2 more weeks to go before I will post my alleged "final pictures".

Thanks you all again for the compliments and support! You all Rock!:smilielol5::grouphug:

Update: I changed my mind and decided I will take some final pictures on Wednesday August 31st. This will be the 3 month mark since my first pictures, and will show a 13 week transformation:)
