our skills

I'll clarify. My buddy is not the type who goes out to fight, but in my opinion he assessed this ahole was being a di<k, and he put him in check. I was just stating that 99% of the time, the initial aggressor will usually back down if you dont show fear.
He didnt knock this guys beer out of his hands, just a mere accidental nudge in the crowded area of the bar. I dont condone fighting, but I thought this was an example of what was stated earlier.

Yeah today, I went to the YMCA.

And I walked up to the clerk to check in, and he was having a bad day or something cuz he was like "Dude, Good afternoon! Nice to see you!" I gave him a stare and was like "Wtf is your problem? want me to kick your ass?" And he's like, "Oh man, whats wrong? You okay?" I was like, "Yeah, bettah recognize biatchness."

What??

honestly, the best self defense you can use is your tounge. i think if you use it wisely, you can avoid, 90% of all confrontations. but thats just my opinion.

using skills,

Retired law enforcement, and had several occasion to use skills, both on the streets and in a detention facility,, but geez,,in all of them things happened so fast i cant tell u much of what i did, other than duck, block , tackle and handcuff,,cause it happens so fast.. I think what I learned from martial arts that helped me the most,, was focus, coordination and ability to remain fairly calm...(you and you follow me,,the rest you panic)...Mike..:)

yeah i wa thinking the same thing the other day, if someone attacks you, you might not thing so much about what you have learned in marial art class, but you as you said, you manage to stay calm and focus.
though i think the different stuff ive learned to get out of various holds (like choking and stuff) could pay off if someone tried to do it to me.

Calmness (having no mind) isn't necessarily something you will get from a martial arts class. It comes from confidence, really. But that confidence is the sum of understanding the technique, and having it come naturally, through practice.

But still, you can take all the classes you want and have a temper that throws you into a windmilling rage whenever someone nudges against you.

yeah offcource. though, when you take a class you get more confident and that can teach you to stay more calm, but it all depends ofcource.

Yeah

Yes iv had the same kind off harrisment most people get in day to day life..

But being in a dodgy area in a dodgy town.
i have had to deffend myself on many occasions.

Probably the funniest was:
Walking past a pub on my way home. And some random guy comes out says hay F*** er or somthing allong them lines. next thing i know he threw a punch. it skimmed my right cheke at which time i dodged and quickly landed a right punch stright on his chin... K.O  any way at that time 5people walked out of the pub (HIS MATES) i thaught ****!!!

But they walked over to their mate laughed and said you ok? and
I guess they thaught he was that pissed... LOL

Second coming
In a club with my bro and mates...
Next thing i know right in front of my eyes a guy flys at my brother.!
So with out a second glance. i threw a right again same punch on the guys cheek nearer the temple this time. : no K.O but he went flying then holding his head staggered off.

(What this has taught me)
Dont think that its easy to KO someone but with the right frame of mind all you need is to incapasatate them one straight punch.

I still after over 20 street fight (have never got to use my best weapon my legs like any one else their legs are the strongest)

I weight about 11 stone at 6,2 ft
I have trained just for muscle Like bruce lee under my clothes you wouldnt guess (look just average) but making my muscles fast and strong not bulky and flabby i have the advantage of speed...

Thats all i have to say.
(PS) i do not think anyone should fight for the sake of it only in deffence.

last year during wrestling season b4 one of the practices, im about to walk in to the actual room. when i do, i see my best friend under 3 juniors, two taller than me and of average type, and one around my height. they were literally holding him and restraining him while the other guy was holding some weird looking clippers and pinching them on his nipples; weird and sick, i know. he was yellign like crazy. I shouldnt have done it, but just seeing that made me the most angry ive ever been, and ive never gotten angry at all, even in situations when i was supposed to be angry. i can thank shotokan karate for that, because martial arts teaches discipline most among anything else; yet even though those dudes werent directly hurting me or anything, i willingly took it upon myself to attack them, which i did. no special moves or anything, the first dude i just walked up to and did a maigiri (front kick) right under his chin, and he just layed on the ground; second guy was on my right, before he could react, i elbowed him straight at the jawbone, and later found out that i unfortunately dislocated it. third guy, though, the guy who was hurting him, had enough reaction time to deal a nice hard blow at my face, but i didnt notice it cuz of the adrenaline. without thinking i just rammed my head into his nose and it unfortunately broke on impact. i got suspended for two days and my senseis werent happy with me either; i couldve really injured those guys that day, and now that i look back, there could have been countless other things i couldve done to prevent myself from getting into an encounter with them. i had never thought of ever getting into a fight, because thats just not me; in my opinion when you agree to fight someone you are putting yourself down to their selfish and arrogant level, but that one day, i really didnt think before i acted.

This rings a bell

G'day years ago when i was younger :) , another soldier lost the plot & went for my mate witha large knife, I didn;t think . I just jumped in to save my mate from this wan***. I copped a slash to the outside/ underside of the forearm, can't remember feeling it at the time, then I KICKED THIS GUYS GROIN INTO ANOTHER UNIVERSE, it didn't drop him, but he took of like a startled gazelle. One thing I remember more than anything( this guys eyes seemed totally red, really freaky) I've no idea whether it was my training kicking in or instincts, Mate I.ve been in a couple of jams, working security
,in the army, & knocking around. I manage to stay out of trouble, only !drop kicks !want it or search for it. < I've seen diggers turn their own guys into pizza's' cause they did the wrong thing> ("going jack") no training will save you then.:(
