Ouch. Advice Needed.

After a year exercise I have finally dropped down to 162 pounds from 210 pounds. I am 19 and am 6"1. My ultimate aim to have an overall muscular appearance, plus having the strength needed to safely protect myself and others as well as restrain people. I will post my current workout in the Bodybuilding forum tomorrow when i have figured out the names of the exercises I do (or would it be ok in this thread?).

Advice and particularly harsh criticism are welcome!

Nothing really harsh to say. You've got a great body that 99% of girls love. Not too muscular, but not too skinny either. Needless to say, you're going to get a bunch of replies telling you to put on some muscle mass, which I also believe wouldn't hurt.

Good luck with the future!

I concur with nobody.

Lots of women like what you've got going on.

But if you had more muscle ... :drooling1::drooling1::drooling1:

I love muscle, are those smileys drooling or vomiting? I really can't tell. ;)

No need to bulk by any means, but adding a little muscle mass is going to give you an even more defined look, not to mention drive your metabolism upward making weight maintenance easier (provided you stick to the good, healthy diet).

First off, GREAT job trimming off the body fat. Now your body is prop and ready to put on the muscle. Since you are soo lean, your muscle should show within a few weeks to a month.

Just like losing the weight, DIETING and sleep are also very important key factor for you to pu ton weight. It's going to be an odd transition at first to be eating a lot again but it's clean eating.

Not all chicks prefer the lean look. Given the choice, I DEFINITELY prefer muscularity over lean. I'm not a petite woman. I want to know I'm with a man, and the more muscle he's got, the better I like it. It strikes some retro cavewoman response in me ...

Translation: Brad Pitt is gross. Dwayne Johnson (the Rock) is the man ... more drooling :drooling1::drooling1::drooling1:

What we are saying is that everyone have their own taste. Visualize how YOU want you to look after you are done with the bulking. As long as you are happy with yourself, I am sure you will come off better.

Thanks for all the comments guys and girls, I really appreciate your time! After working so hard to loose the weight, it will certainly feel weird starting to eat more again. Due to the focus on loosing weight, I have barely done any weights, thus making me a bit of a noob.

I think my long term goal would be to increase my muscular definition and strength, without looking like a body builder. I guess you could say some where between lean and muscular / body builder. Thus attaining the best of both worlds with any luck Would it be more appropriate to post a new thread in the nutrition forum and weight lifting forum respectively, or discuss it here?

I am just going to the gym now, so I will be able to get the names of the exercises I do and will post them this afternoon.

Once again thanks for risking your vision by checking out my pics, and offering your advice! :)

Good job, but now its time for the fun part.

Adding muscle. :)
I agree - 6'1" at 162 is pretty scrawny. You need to get back to 200lbs, but at 14% BF. :)
