Here's the sitch: Last summer I lost 20 lbs before I took off for a semester in Bavaria...only to put it all back on and then some. When I left, I weighed 153...when I came back I was 175. I'm down to 168 right now, and I've been struggling with keeping it up. I think keeping this journal will help keep me honest and accountable, so here goes!
First off...reasons to make some changes:
1. I bought a TON of dress-up work clothes last summer when I was skinny, and I'd like to fit into them as I'm a rookie teacher and certainly can't afford an entire new wardrobe.
2. I feel happier all around when I'm taking care of myself.
3. I kind of feel friskier too...
4. I've foolishly agreed to do a crazy-ass bike-ride across the state of Iowa at the end of July, and the trek will be much easier if I can just lose even 10 more pounds.
5. I want to start running 5ks. Run/jog/walk combos are my typical workout, but I've never run an entire 5k. I'm aiming at doing my first in September. Eek!
