Only 1 dumbell

I only have one dumbell and im just wondering, when i do dumbell bench presses does it affect the way the muscles work? and please note i only use 1 dumbell , so i would go 10 reps right hand then alternate ect.

Just curious as to why you only have one dumbell......

it shouldnt affect anything, provided you are doing equal amounts with the same weights. Remember people still use dumbells even when they have bars, and other equipment. as long as your technique is sound you should be ok. certain exercises with a dumbell require alot of form otherwise you'll really injure yourself so be carefull, but in answer to your question you should be fine.

Don't waste your time. There are plenty of exercises you can do without dumbbells. Maybe only a handful that you can do with only one, but just one weight sort of limits you. How much does the dumbbell weigh? Do a full body workout using your bodyweight. Such as, push-ups for chest, chin-ups for back, walking lunges, jump squats, crossover lunges for legs, glutes, hams, crunches or sit-ups for abs, etc...

Invest in a BARBELL and some plates. That will be the best purchase toward a bigger, stronger and faster body you can make once you learn how to use it.

I never really had 2, its one of those adjustable ones.

I do have a barbell but its one of those curvy kinds not designed specifically for bench presses. I dont even know how to use it, so i dont.

Well, thanks for the replys. It answered my question.
