One Day at a Time

I have been on this site for a few years now just reading and watching peoples journeys and finally decided to join and use it to my advantage as an amazing tool on this weight loss journey. No not a weight loss journey, a lifestyle change. My name is Stacey and I am 23 years old.
All my life I have been over weight. I used food as my comfort blanket and well its time to grow up and get rid of that old blankie. Just recently I joined this weight loss challenge at my church called Live to Loose which is based off the book Bod for God. It is a 12 week program which starts tonight. So i figured I would document my journey through this program. At first I was scared to post but i figured this is for me more than anyone and if you read it great! I would love to have people behind me but if you dont then thats ok too.

My current Measurements:

Neck: 12 inches
Arm: 13.5 inches
Chest: 41 inches
Waist: 39 inches
Hips: 52 inches
Thighs: 29.5 inches
Calf: 15.5 inches
Weight: 226.4

welcome to the forums.

Almost all of us knows what you mean when you said you used food as comfort. I can say for one I did. I still do a little but I've gotten a lot better. You will too. The first steps has been taken. If there is anything we can do to help, let us know.

Thank you for the welcome! I learned tonight that your brain confuses thirst for hunger so my goal this week is to drink lots of water! and being a hardcore soda drinker this is going to be a challenge. Wish me luck!

Oh and Marathon man I love the quote in your signature

It's been a little while since I posted so I thought I would do an update. I havent measured myself since I started and it's kinda neat to see that i'm losing inches in certain places. It seems it always goes from my waist first not that I'm complaining haha but I would for sure love to see those numbers decreasing from the hips and thighs but oh well in time it will!! Been having a little trouble keeping to the diet I always seem to want to go back to my comfort foods when something bad has happened or I'm having a tough day. Thats a habbit I need to find a new vice for. Any suggestions? Time for the gym!
Until next time
