One day at a time with Kakutzi

Well it got to the avo today and i really did not feel like going to the gym. Anyway, made myself drive in there and what do you know, 50min cardio later i step out feeling great. Sometimes the endorphins you get from excercise are priceless. Wish we could bottle it up to take on demand.

Quite pleased with myself workout wise, as i really pushed myself including speeding up my run on the treadmill and a little incline to add to it. If i keep upping some part of my workout each time (if possible) then i know i am making small progress.

Now i just have to focus on adding my weights program more often. Which although it doesnt seem to help the quick fix weight loss, it hopefully will add more muscle which will in turn make me burn more fat throughout the day. Or so i have read...

woohoo! i'm so happy for you! it's like our bodies are in sync...lol! today i also had a decrease in the scale so i'm really happy about that....it seems we worked up ourselves over nothing because i think our bodies are finally adjusted, plus most importantly of all we're now doing things the right way so our bodies will thanks us for it!

Well this week has been pretty bad excercise wise. 4days off!!! Will have to get back on track for next week and really push myself.

Friday was terrible. It was the most demotivated i have been for excercising. I just couldnt make myself do it. Not sure why. But i felt so guilty not going to the gym.

Had finally started to see some losses in weight again, with adjusting to my increased calories, untill last night i gained 1.32LBS. I know i didnt excercise yesterday, but i stuck to my diet. Im thinking its water retention, as its now my time of the month, and i also had a bowl of vege soup with lots of salt in it (mum made it LOL). Hopefully i'll shed it over the next couple of days. I REALLY wanna be back in the 150's and stay there, or at least not go back over them.

Was pretty happy with myself yesterday. Drove into the gym in the morning and did 50min weights. Then early avo thought what the hell, and went for a 45min walk. Pretty scared going for the walk as the dog at a house down the road attacked someone the other day, so i was cautious. Last thing i want is to be mawled by a dog. Then in the afternoon/evening when i had to pick up mum, went back to the gym for a second time and did 45min cardio. So it was a really good day for me excercise wise. Now to keep it up!

As for today, im stuck without a car so i cant get to the gym. Its also raining at the moment, so unless it clears i cant go for a walk or two either. Praying it stops raining as i dont want to do nothing today.

My main aim for this week is to lose 2kg, so that i hit the 60's. Its been so long since i have been in the 60's and i really wanna get there.

hey girl, glad to see your numbers are still going down! i'm also doing okay, i'm hoping i can get back to the regular exercise i usually do so that the numbers can hopefully start budging abit more.

Hi Cherry. Thanks for dropping by. Yes im pleased my numbers are coming down. It feels like its taking forever to lose the remainder of my weight, after coming so far. Im sure you'll be back to kicking ass at the gym all the time. Your numbers will come down for sure.

Well i managed to get a hold of a car to get myself to the gym today after all. Still raining so its pretty miserable.

Keep up the good work girl! I think our bodies are both appreciating the new diets...
 
Well years ago i used to do a lot of aerobics classes and i just loved it back then. Now that im back into using my gym membership, and im feeling a bit fitter and not so fat, im wanting to get back into doing some classes. Unfortunately my gym doesnt have a great range of classes, but there are 2 or 3 i want to try.

So tonight is the 'MegaDance' class, combining different styles of dance. Ive been wanting to try it for a while. So now that the day has come that i decide to give it a go, i am overcome by nerves and anxiety.

What am i fearful of? Well... i dont know how many people will be doing it. Id rather a small class. What if there are tons of people there? What if i know someone there? Ive been living so solitarily for the last few years that im scared of bumping in to anyone i know from the past. What if im the fattest person there? And more scary is what if i am totally uncoordinated and cant do it and look like an idiot?

Im really petrified now that ive decided to do it. I know i can make myself get ready for it and drive in there, but will i go through with it??

I guess its a big step for me and i would be so proud of myself if i do do it. Wish me luck!!!!
 
Aw Kakutzi, how'd the class go?

If it were me I'd prefer a bigger class to a smaller class... that way I can get kinda lost in the crowd and less people may be paying attention to me.

OMG...i totally FEEL you on this...especially that last statement! i also dissappeared for a few days (coz i was feeling so low) and just reappeared on monday. i think it was thursday where i had an impromptu cheat day, next thing i knew friday saturday and sunday were still cheat days and girl i tell you i was putting on pounds overnight like crazy....i wanted to cry, and my exact feeling was it's like i take one step forward and two steps back. but i cleaned up my act on monday so i'm back on track.

in my case all the calorie counting got to me, i started checking fitday like every two seconds to check that i was doing okay all day everyday, and after the whole increasing weight again after upping cals i was already low so was glad when i finally got back to my all time low of 316 and then AGAIN next thing i know i started eating crap and put on weight again....so AGAIN i need to get back down to 316 for the a millionth time before i can continue on my journey (so sorry to rant but i think you know where i'm coming from since we've had really similar journeys these past few weeks).

so thats why i decided i won't count calories anymore, i'll just be eating my meals in the same quantities as i was when counting calories that is healthy quantities of healthy foods but i'm not loggin anything down (of course i'm not advising others to do the same, it's just what works for me which is why i'll do that to avoid another 'meltdown'.) and second i'm going through some serious withdrawal symptoms from not checking my weight on the scale everyday...lol! that damn scale, that damn number.....so i'm gunning for at least a week before i step on it again, and if it doesn't go down i'm going to smash it to smitherins (okay i won't actually do it but i'll be thinking it...lol!)

okay, didn't mean to hijack your diary....hope your doing good? have you managed to bounce back from the low weekend? and also wanted to ask how your aerobics class went since i know you'd mentioned you were scared about going so i'm glad to see you braved up and went and hope you enjoyed it? wow, that megadance class sounds like it would be loads of fun! i could have sworn my gym had an early morning dance class when i joined but i no longer see it on the schedule which is really sad coz it sounded like it'd have been fun.

okay, gotta go for now, hope you feel better hun and manage to get back up and keep going...we all have to keep going and it's a difficult journey but dammit we're gonna get there. all the best xoxo:grouphug:

So pleased you stopped by. I really feel like you can understand what ive been going through. It can be so hard sometimes eh! My friday started off a cheat day too, and no exercise. And i was feeling so down as well. Family problems on friday. And home alone that night, so i just went nuts with food. Then i couldnt stop. Sat, sun and monday also became cheat days with no excercise either. I didnt think i could pull myself out of this rut, but on tue i made myself go for a walk and that put me back on track.

Its so depressing when all the weight you lose with such hard work, goes back on so quickly. Then you have to start again just to get back to your lower weight. I just cant seem to stay in the 150's.

I can imagine how hard it is not to weigh yourself everyday. I will miss your daily reports girl! Will be great to see how you go now that your not calorie counting. All the best for that!

Oh... and i didnt end up going to that dance aerobics class. I chickened out. But im going to make myself go next week if all goes as planned. Instead i did manage to make myself go to a 'fighting fit' class that week, which incorporated boxing. It was quite good, but what a workout LOL.

wanted to say thanks for stopping by my diary. today was a good day, i finally managed to get past the 316 and weighed in at 313.9, i was really glad because i hadn't weighed in at that before. i hadn't weighed myself since sunday which i have to say has been extremely hard but on the other hand it sort of freed my mind, i think i'm realising now that seeing the number on the scale every morning would literally make or break my day...so even though i'd do everything right it's like either my heart or mind wouldn't be in it untill i saw the scale go down i don't know, i'm just trying to figure out why it's been so difficult the past few weeks.

all i can say is that it felt so good to see a good number after having not looked at the scale for a few days. i think i'd recommend it to anyone, i'm now converted out of the weighing everyday. i remember alot of people would write in my diary and advise me not to check daily but as much as i wanted to try everymorning i'd wake up and check my weight anyway. i think when your ready i'd most definitely recommend it to you as well, but of course it's all upto you because everyone is completely different, what works for one person is different for the next.

what i'm hoping for now is that things keep going okay. how are things with you? hope their going good?

i'm so glad to hear you tried one of the classes...it sounds kinda similar-ish to the combat class which is lots of kicking and punching i really love it and glad to hear you enjoyed it too. it's always a nice feeling when you add something new to your workout routine that is actually fun...makes all the difference. k, hun take care, bye for now.
 
Confessions

Well things here are going smoothly. The weight has been slowly coming off with regular excercise. Was absolutely ecstatic on tuesday to weigh in under 70kg. Finally in the 60's after so long. Now im just short of my original goal weight which was 68kg. Then i would have lost 20kg. I cant wait. As soon as i hit that goal i will take some pics of me, and post on the before and after pics of me at my start weight and me now. So hopefully only a few more days till i reach my goal. I am so proud of myself. I was looking at some of my pics from my start weight today, and i cant believe how much i have changed, and how much i had let myself go.
Anyway, once i reach my goal of 68kg, im going to reassess my goals and decide if i want to lose more. More than likely i will, seeing as i used to weigh only 55kg years back.

Ok... now its time for a confession. (I have quite a few but i'll only do one at a time). I am hooked on diet coke. I drink on average 8 cans a day. The only time i drink water is when i am at the gym. Mornings through to lunch is coffee. Anyway my mother and brother have been having a go at me for ages saying that i should stop drinking so much diet coke as its not good for me and among other things will rot my teeth.

Finally i am surrenduring and going to give it up. Ive had my final one about 2 hours ago. The plan is, to start drinking more water throughout the day, and still have coffee (with artificial sweetner). I am starting to drink black coffee as of today, instead of with milk.

So wish me luck giving up diet coke!! I dont mind if i let myself have the occaisional one, like 1 a week, or every 2 wks, but no longer 8 cans a day.

Well i may not be on here over the weekend. I have the Nationals (cat show) on saturday and sunday, so there'll be no excercise for me over the weekend. I always feel guilty when i know i cant excercise. Nevermind.
I just have one cat entered, but am looking forward to it.

and hope your not already going through withdrawals from cutting out the diet cokes...when i was much younger coke was my thing, i'd drink it like it was water sigh!

i see uve had ur share of ups and downs in the weigh-in department, and i KNOW that the gains seem so awful after the hard work that goes into the losses, but thats what makes it all even better when u finally reach ur goal. u KNOW u deserve it!! so just hold on and keep going.
when i read ur first entry i was so inspired, and i still am. im a big fan of exercise, though ive very irregular with it, so it never seems to anything for me weight loss wise lol. this time though, im sticking to my plan, and now im going to keep stopping by ur diary because i think ur doing GREAT!!
so just keep smiling. and remember
Pain is Temporary. Quitting lasts forever.

Hey surya :seeya: Thanks for stopping by my diary, and thanks for the kind words. It feels nice to know i have inspired someone. Im not always motivated to excercise, but i know its the only way im going to lose weight. It does make me feel good afterwards though. Pain is definately temporary!!
