Once a Fat Man......but NEVER again.

I really think my son being born and the 2 weeks I am taking off is going to be a relaxing time in comparison. I mean- I know he will be fussy and all but I wont have all the crap I am dealing with now. At least i wont care about it....

Oh, no. You will have a more literal crap that needs to be taken care of. :smilielol5:

To quote my brother from yesterday as he was changing his son's diaper, "OH GOD! OH GOD! OH GOD!" :biggrinjester:

In all honesty I am not concerned about this in the least. I do not think I am underestimating it or anything- I am soooo looking forward to it that I have a hard time putting it into words.

I hear you on that. I'm not afraid of a little crap, and either is my brother, which is why I thought it funny. It was just one of those moments where he's changing the diaper and the kid is still pooping. And pooping. And pooping. Damn, son, you're only four days old. How much could you have eaten in that time? :D

Been there. Done that. More than once. :p

Hi Brian. Just stopping in to make sure you're hanging on to your sanity. Plus I know you miss me like mad. :D As hectic as everything is right now it will only get more hectic after Mini Brian is born. Fortunately, it is a good kind of hectic. I know this is a cliche but seriously, they grow up so fast. Remember every moment.

Ah Angela- how i missed ye. :)
Sanity? I know I left it at home somewhere.... I looked in the car and it wasnt there so it must be at home....

All is well overall- just stressed to the breaking point to a point. But this too shall pass.
The remembering moments thing.. is that a part of stopping to smell the roses and all that? :D

Ye jest. But yup. I was thinking just yesterday how much my kids have grown and how there are certain things I won't be able to experience with them any more now that they are older. One thing I find oddly sad - my little one is talking more correctly. Not as many mispronounced words. I'm gonna miss that.

they grow up so fast is such a cliche, but when you are buying clothes it suddenly isn't so funny. We bought a dress for my daughter this summer for a wedding. The dress came to right above her ankles. Now we have another wedding in a week and a half and that dress is 3-4 inches over her ankles. :svengo: What are you eating, kid?

My little one has this pink outfit (we call 'em bibs/overalls down here) that was kind of large so the straps on the shoulders were at the shortest setting. Three weeks later - I kid you not, three weeks - I go to put it on her and had to lower the straps nearly an inch. I am happy to report, however, that a couple of outfits that were tight on her now fit better. Before when she grew vertically, she also tended to grow horizontally, too. Apparently eating healthy and increasing her exercise has made a positive impact. (Before any of you start - NO I do not have my three year old on a diet. Just having her eating healthy, staying away from McD's, and dancing. :D)

It is the clothes that scare the hell out of my if I were to be honest. i know my parents spent a small fortune clothing my brother and I- feeding too but I really am not that concerned about that.
If my kid is anything like me he is going to be one hell of an eater so lord only knows.

But seriously- buying clothes every 3 weeks worrys me. Yay for Walmart!

Lol - I found this wonderful little consignment shop when my oldest girl was but a wee babe and have shopped there ever since. The owner is very picky on what she buys so all of the clothes I've ever bought them look brand new. I bought my baby girl's winter coat there this year - it's brand-new, has gotten several compliments, and only cost $3.00 on clearance last Spring. Yay for consignment!

Screw Walmart. Find someone who has a kid that is also growing like a weed and scam the hand me downs. Then pass them on to the next kid.

Also, thrift stores are my friend for that, too.

See, that's the one good thing about them growing so fast. They barely have time to ruin the clothes, lol.

(I'm a gummy bear . . . yes, I'm a gummy bear . . .)

I have heard that- bout the kid growing too fast for the clothes to even wear out- and it kills me a little inside that I will be giving away clothes that are barely worn....

My neighbors have a boy who will be 18 months when mine is born- I totally plan on breaking into their house and taking all i can......:D

Wait till you are giving away clothes that still have the tags on them. That's the real killer.

Most parents are happy to give them away so they can make room for the new clothes coming in the door. Eventually ya get tired of seeing a garbage bag full of barely worn outfits sitting in the hallway, lol. "Sure, neighbor. Here ya go! Take the durn things!"

And yeah, Trops. I've given away dresses with tags still on them. It seems it happens most with infants. You get so much stuff at baby showers it is impossible to use them all before the kid grows out of them. Oh, I had grand visions of little pink dresses and dressing up my baby in a cutesie little outfit every day. Yeah right. Sleepless nights and constant feedings don't make playing dress-up as much fun. My girls lived in onesies and sleepers, lol.

My kid is going to be wearing halloween costumes on a random wednesday because they are clean...

Seriously- who gets a child born in Jan halloween contunes in 3-6 sizes?

So apparently my 2008 did not include enough trauma to my body and I had not hit enough doctors so I decided to make a dentist appointment. Actually my body decided to make a dentist appointment for me by dropping a filling out of my tooth....
So I go in and lo and behold I need a root canal! Lucky me they were able to do it right then and there! Yay! So I go from planning on getting a filling replaced to a full on root canal. My appt was at 1240 and i was out of there at 320.......
My mouth was numb until 10pm and i feel like I got into a fight yesterday- that and eating soup last night was sooo much fun....

So 2008 is going to be looked back on as either one of the 'turning point' years in my life or just a whole bunch of crap going on.:D
Seriously- I have done more for myself and have had more done to myself this year than I ever have. That plus my boy being born really make '08 one of the most life changing years I have ever had.
