Once a Fat Man......but NEVER again.

I think it's really cool that you guys met up. It's probably good that you didn't keep with the Philly thing. Philly cheese cake, Philly cheese steak, Philadelphia cream cheese... :)

OMG you would have had to roll us home :)

Definately a good thing we didn't go down that road...

I was so happy we were able to meet up, that so rarely happens in places like this. We got along really well so I was nice to see that the internet friendship translated to real life :)

Cheesesteaks... nice! I could go for one of them right now, I really need to get my ass to into the city soon.

What's up Brian... I see you're still posting over on that Healthy Weight Forum.

I just post there to try to educate the naive and to get rid of idiots...... You go over there still obviously.

But really all is good. Work is picking up something fierce and I am losing time to post. Still doing all things WL, program is working well for me and stretching has kept me injury free.
Traveling more for work- hell I was up in your neck of the woods last week.

All pretty good though.
Thanks for asking.:D

I haven't been posting there. In all actuality I forgot about it. Was going through my favorites yesterday and popped in... was nice to see you still there spreading the good word.

Glad to hear things are going well.

Trying to spread the right word anyway- or my limited knowledge of it anyway. I figure that even if I do not know a lot it is still more than most of the people over there.

Still at 215 but things are shifting and becoming a little more defined. I am getting an actual waist and my obliques are showing somewhat.
It is cool when the body really begins to respond to what you do. :D

Missed this....
Hi Ali! Ive been real busy with work, they are killing me there...

How are you doing?

Sheesh...missed lil ole me???

What do I have to do, post an entertaining pic to make me stand out? :D

I am getting killed as well...looks like we have that in common right now...keeping with the running although I thought it was going to KILL ME tonight.

Alas, I am alive and kicking as it were...

Miss you round here :)

ok.

I have been absolutely getting killed at work and have been on the road and out of the office and generally working my ass of for the last 2 weeks. Thusly I have not been able to update this happy thing properly for a while.

I am doing fine overall. I have been noticing so plateaus in strength the last couple weeks and have come to realize that I may be overly fatiguing myself. I am going to take it easy the next week or so and do lighter weight/high rep resistance to reduce the fatigue. I will do this for a week or so and then reevaluate. I think I was working so hard that I was doing too much overall and it caught up with me. So that is that- i will be fine.

My running has been going great. Last Saturday I went for speed. I ran a 5k in 23:22. 3.1 miles in under 24 minutes. That is a new low and what I thought would be a long term goal. I am so pleased. Yesterday I ran a 10k in 51:44. Not the greatest time but it was 93 and humid as hell outside. I also was so consistent in my times. The first 4 miles were all 8:40- the last 2 were 8:30 and 8:20 respectively. This is huge in my mind- the key to distance running is consistency and I achieved it. Again- not the fastest time but in the heat I was very happy with it.

I am still 215 but not upset. I may have a loss this week but am not concerned about it.
All is well in my life, my wife's pregnancy is going well. WE have an appointment 7/24 for a check up. But all is really going well.
Work is getting crazy like I said but oh well- it is what it is and I have no issues working hard.
Thank you for reading my drivel.
:D

nice times on your runs... well done... it's too late to qualify for the olympics so just going for consistency is all good - focus on the olympics in chicago whenever that will be and qualify for thos games :D

Thanks Mal- im getting there. :)
Thats the thing. Everything I read told me that one of the most difficlt things for a first time runner is finding a consistant pace.
Aint no way the games will come to Chicago.:)

Focusing on the marathon next year- i am going to do the damn thing :D

Ugh, I can't wait to get down to 240-235 and actually be able to run like that.

Youll get there man.
I was unable to do any of this like I am until 230-225 or so. I was running but not anywhere near this.
Just dont make the same mistakes I made. Dont do to much to soon and for the love of god stretch every time after you are done. I have recovered from and avioded any new injuries due to that.

I was so damn stupid a couple of mionths ago. :D

Not much has changed....

Kidding :D

Yeah, 235 is my target weight... I do have a few inches on ya. When I hit that weight I should be at a good bodyfat %.

Not much has changed....
That actually is true. :D
just not in running

You will be able to run like this long before your target weight. Seriously- I started this 25 lbs above my target and am still 10-15 above it.
Just start slow and build up to it.

Yeah, I look forward to it. Right now its just too much pressure on my knees and body to run outside. In another 45lbs I'll be hitting the road for sure though.

I was so damn stupid a couple of mionths ago. :D

Not stupid, just driven. That attitude is what has gotten you to this point, you just educated yourself, that's all...

Be careful, between Shaun and I you are going to become the forum running guru :)
