on the Rotation Diet, according to Martin Katahn

Hello everybody.

First of all I have to say sorry for my English, as it isn't perfect at all. Unfortunately I couldn't find a proper place to discuss my diet on the Russian (yep, I'm Russian) Internet.

I've been struggling with my weight for 5 years. At the very beginning I started with 185 lbs. The lowest weight was 116 last winter (mostly I was on extreme crash diets and also had problems with my eating behaviour, plus constantly faced with the vicious cycle, I mean 'lose 2 lbs - gain 3 back' and so on). After that, I was binge eating, put on all the lost weight and simply couldn't lose weight again. I suppose that's because my metabolic rate began to slow down.

I decided to change my eating behaviour a few weeks ago, as this way of living was unbearable anymore and I was extremely frustrated because my usual way of losing weight hadn't been working for so long and I was simply ruining my own health for nothing.

Actually started on the 21 of July eating healthy food (it was a huge first step forward) with 136 lbs and on the 27 of July I was 135.

The week was terrible, my belly was as huge as somebody could simply assume I was pregnant and I continually felt a sharp pain in my bowels. Oh, I forgot to say - I was permanently taking laxatives as my bowels didn't work properly itself.

But the week passed by, and now I'm quite happy about it. Although I didn't lose much weight, but now my digestive system works far more better than it used to.

I decided with the Martin Katahn's Rotation diet, which I started yesterday, because I had hopes it'd help to lose weight relatively healthy, without provoking a slow down of the metabolic rate and prevent regaining weight back.

So, here I am.

I know I exceeded my calorie allowance.

The melon did interfere into my plan. I was craving for one...

Nonetheless, I certainly have to be much more vigilant.

In spite of the fact I didn't lose even a 000.1 lbs I'm not going to give up. Although such thoughts usually creep into my mind when I don't see a significant difference on the scales.

And I've lost 0.39 inch off my hips! Hooray! Probably yesterday's walking was worth all of the efforts I made to turn myself out of the house (I was extremely fatigued without an obvious reason).

10:50 AM chai tea & milk - 132

Weight on the 30 of July - 132

I'm incredibly happy I've found this flavoured yogurt! It's going to be my personal saviour through the way of losing weight. One pot contains only 46 cals and its ingredients are relatively harmless (besides milk & bacteries the yougurt contains E 950, E 951and flavouring). After eating only so-called healthy food it tastes palatable enough.

Truth be told I'm a bit tired of walking, have a constant feeling like I'm in lack of energy. Can't even suppose how I'll be feeling while consuming 1200 cals per day, as I'm intended to burn them all.

Probably I'm getting obsessive about it and maybe I'm just not used to eat & behave like an ordinary person in diet / losing weight terms of things... But can't handle it, I do afraid to gain weight instead of losing it.

It seems to me nobody's going to reply, but it's okay *...here are supposed to be okay-guy & forever alone faces*

At least I launched this diary in order to be accountable for my own actions, to prompt myself to go strictly forward without thoughts about giving it all up. Thus everything's about my own benefits / responsibility / better self-control and so on and so forth.

Yes yes yes, I'm actually trying to console myself

July 30 / the fourth day on the Rotation diet

Weight in the morning - 132

8 AM chai tea & milk - 220

9 AM flavoured yogurt - 138

11:30 AM lettuce mix & yogurt - 114

1 PM peaches - 227

4:30 PM peaches & plums - 112

5 PM peaches - 67

5:50 PM apricots - 72

TOTAL: 950 cals

+ supplements - rainbow light: women's one multivitamins

Calories burned by walking - 900

Weight on the 31 of July - 131

It's such a nice feeling you're lighter and even thinner than you were yesterday, that all of your actions and restrictions are rewarded with these simultaneously significant and insignificant (but very encouraging though) numbers on the scale.

Hello, there, effi, your English is actually very good, if I say so myself! And I'm very glad to see you have decided to lose some weight before it got too much out of control. I mean, wow, you're already starting a new diet after just having to lose 12 lbs. Good for you! I wish I could say that about myself. If only we all could start that before we end up being 40 lbs overweight (like me). Good luck!

Your only taking in 950 in cals and burning almost as much?? i'm sure thats not healthy. You shouldn't go below 1200 in cals...and if your exercising that much, I'd boost those cals higher.

Thank you!

Unfortunately losing 12 lbs is my first goal for that time, just trying to be cautious with short-term goal setting.

I remember when I was 116 lbs (the lowest weight of mine ever) - was still pretty fat. Probably that sounds a bit weird, but that's it. And it wasn't only my imagination, because I had obvious folds of fat!

I absolutely agree with you.

But I suppose that now my metabolic rate isn't fast enough and isn't ready for such cals, because during more than 1 year I was trying to lose weight with very strict diets (for instance drinking diet, with consuming not more than 600 cals) my weight hadn't budged.

That's why I decided to use the Rotation diet, there'll be one week with 1200 cals (earlier for me it was like terrible gluttony). And now I'm trying to learn again how to eat healthy and the long-term goal of mine is to consume more cals a day without gaining weight. I do hope that slowly but surely I'll succeed with it.
