On my Way.......

Hello. :)

I posted a couple of months as a newbie, and thought I would start a thread to track my progress and motivate myself to continue.

I have not posted in a while as I have been extremely busy with my work and also excercising in this wonderful summer weather.

Lets see, where to start.
I'm five three, and started off about 150-155 when I first came here, in June.
I think before that, in the winter I perhaps got up to 160. My weight as been fluctuating quite a bit in the 150's lately.

I'm now down to 140-142 (I think I need to remember to drink more water again as my body loves to retain water).

I've tried to increas vegetables and protein and sleep more. I think stress and lack of sleep had a lot to do with my weight gain this year. Previously I was 125-130.

I have always excercised, but a lapse is another thing that contributed to this change. I'm now up to two and a half hours of aerobic activity ever other day. Since it is summer, I have been biking the bike path as my excercise of choice, and can feel my body getting stronger. It is however, taking time to see the difference I would like, but I do see more toning-it seems to be moving down, starting with my arms, and to my stomach. My legs still look the same to me, though I am trying to be patient as I know they are getting stronger, and a change will come.

I was complaining and concerned about love handles, and I think that area has most definetley gone down dramatically with the bike riding. It's still my trouble area, along with the upper thighs.

Ok, Updated with a current picture. I will throw away my vanity to help motivate myself and track the change to also help........

Thank you Jules.

It's frustrating to me as I don't feel I carry my weight well. I mean, five to ten pounds really makes a difference on my frame, and I just don't think it's healthy to have all this extra weight, even though it is not too extreme.

I was reading you're thread and wish you the best of luck as well.
You still look great though, the blood pressure issue of course is one to be taken care of, and I hope you are able to resolve it and stop with the medication too.

I'm in the same position you are. I'm also 5'3 and hanging out between 140 and 142. I started out at 152 back in April. I carry most of my weight in my stomach area and a little around my upper thighs. I get that awful tire effect if the jeans don't fit me just perfect. I wish I had as much motivation as you to work out for hours every other day! I haven't been to the gym in a few weeks. But I do maintain a healthy diet pretty well. I can't seem to break 140 though. It gets very frustrating. My goal is 125. After already losing about 10 pounds I haven't seen much of a change so I think once I lose another 15 and get to my goal, I still might need to lose more. Maybe 115 or something.

What is your goal? Are you going to try to stay at your previous weight of 125-130? Well keep up the great work!!! And if you have any motivating work out tips, please share! :)

Nessa,

That is a coincidence about the 140-142 weight sticking. :)
Actually, that usually is the point where I stick, for some reason it is hard to get back down into the 130's.

My goal for now is 125 too.....that is where I am most comfortable and feel best.

Regarding keeping motivated, I think seeing pictures of myself helps, as it's really easy to not be aware of how much one has gained otherwise. I also really love to excercise...as I said, I have been pretty stressed as of late, so not only is the working out good for me shedding the extra pounds, but it is helping me calm down.

I eat pretty healthy too, but tend to overdo it on the simple carbs, and am trying to watch that by conciously choosing a more nutritious variety of things to eat like yogurt, veggies and fruit....and lost of water.

So I guess we are in almost the same place regarding our goals, which is kind of nice esp. since we are the same hight. I hope we can motivate and encourage eachother along the way, and good luck to you too!

I think you look great!!! don't get frustrated if you do not make huge gains in weight loss everyone has different gentics. Definitley keep up the great job and stick with what you are doing.....Good Job!:)
