Omega's journey

My calculations tell me that you lost 4.6lbs this week!!!

Congratualtions!! I guess that calorie counting was pretty successful. :)

You will be pleased to hear that I was a bit devious myself with my weigh in today. I first weighed myself around 8:45am (220lbs) b/c the plumber was coming to fix something with the shower between 9-10, and I didn't know how long he'd be. So after vacuuming and tidying up the bath, I went back to bed..lol. I woke up at noon, and he was pulling out of the driveway. So I went in, used the toilet, and re-weighed. 219lbs. Had I not done that, I'd be stuck with 220 and no new low. :D I did not eat anything between the two weigh ins, and only had a small bit of water. Also, I hadn't eaten since 7pm the night before, so I was definitely on empty. ;)

You and Angel are neck and neck in the race to 11st. How exciting! :D

I hope your Friday is going well--weight loss-wise I'm sure it's been happy. :)

Hi Kimberly

The calorie counting, and more importantly the new food plan removing raisins (which involved calorie counting) was certainly successful. I am sure that it did me no harm to count the calories for about 9 days to make sure that it all made sense. Naturally we cannot expect results like that every week (it would be nice!) but maybe things will generally improve. Only time will tell.

I am pleased that I am not the only one who inclined towards devious tricks when it comes to getting a pleasing result at the scales. It was well worth you weighing again later (and not eating). I am so pleased that you got a major milestone - it kind of finishes the challenge off nicely for you.

I can reveal that at the start of the morning my weight was 157.4 but after my walk (which actually brought the pedometer up to 7.2 miles) and a further toilet visit there was my new low.

Angel is slightly closer than me (she is on 156 and I am on 156.8) but what is 8/10 of a pound between friends. She is bound to get there before me though.

Weight loss wise it certainly has been a happy day and my weight loss project is so central to my thoughts currently that if it is going well - everything is going well.

I hope that today is going well for you too. I am sure that you will be on cloud9 having got to the teens.

Take care
Love
Margaret

I am certainly happy about not counting calories. In all honesty - I eat in such a repetitive way that I do not think my calories will go up much. Most people benefit from counting calories - but I always feel more vulnerable.

well you seem to lose without counting so you don't need to really. the days of counting are over now you can have some peace. hehe

lets hope the scale is kind to you until the 1st. :D

Margaret,

I think it's so wonderful that the weight has just been coming off of you these past couple weeks! Everytime I see your diary, you're at a new low! I guess changing up the food was a good choice :). I'm glad to see it worked!!!!!

Thanks for dropping by to encourage me Angel, Tammy and Keepitoff

I would like to think that the scale will keep on being kind to us all for a while - however I am aware that this is unlikely to be the case for me. I have a very regular 27 to 28 day cycle and I always seem to suffer from water retention before and during my period. Today (Saturday) is day 23. Over the last two months my low weight before I started to gain was on day 20 and day 22. I didnt get back down to my pre-TOM low until day 6 or day 7. That means that the track record is that I am very likely to start retaining water any minute and it is going to have a detrimental effect to my weight loss for the next two weeks. My only hope is that the new food plan is so effective that I lose fat to compensate for some of the water gain. I certainly know that over that time frame I was eating no differently over the weight loss fortnight compared to the stagnation fortnight so feel sure that the stall is down to water retention - but with two handfuls of raisins each day I was consuming generally more calories than I am now.

Hello Margaret~
The sun is shining here and it is feeling considerably warmer than it has of late. I am getting the urge to go for a walk. Unfortunately I have to go to work today. SIGH.
I am glad to see that you got your food sorted out.
I am thinking that I may need to start eating a more similar diet everyday style the way that you do. As I feel that my biggest struggle is keeping track of everything.
Sooooo starting Monday, Monday because I won't be at work, I am going to sit down and see what I need to do to set up a menu.
And with the weather starting to turn a bit warmer I will be getting out more often. Especially since my 5 month old puppy would really like to go for walks. It was just to cold before.
I hope that you are having a good day and that things are going well for you.
I will catch up more with you on Monday.

Hi Dawn

Thanks for popping by.

I am pleased that you are getting some better weather. You have waited long enough for it.

As you know - I eat the same thing every day and list it in my diary. I just have a list of just about everything that I plan to eat that day on the computer (since it is repetitive it is a straight copy from the day before). As I eat something - I change the colour to blue. It just means popping to window with the list every few hours and colouring what you have eaten. That is why I list items individully. At the minute for instance I have had one clementine and will have another later - so one is blue.

I am sure that you and the puppy will enjoy your walks. I am up to 10.65 miles for the day so far - and plan on having a restful night (7pm now) so it will not go up much further.

The day is going well thanks - I hope that yours is too.

Take care
Love
Margaret

Hi Margaret,
I just wanted to pop in and say hello before I have to go out. :)

I'm sure your new eating habits will help with the weightloss during TOM.

I hope you're having a pleasant weekend. :hug2:

Hi Kimberly

I am having a very pleasant weekend and hope that you are too.

We both had our hair cut today - so that makes us feel a little more presentable. It's amazing how quickly 6 weeks goes by and it needs done again. Hubby's brother's wife's sister is a hairdresser and she comes round to the house and does the honours.

As far as forthcoming weightloss goes - we will have to wait and see!

Take care

Hi Angel

I hope that your Saturday has been good too.

Hubby is still sullking after Newcastle United got beaten yet again. He watched it on Setanta Sports and is still muttering about it hours later.

Take care

I'm surprised your H is a Newcastle supporter when he's from Southern England..lol. Or is that your influence? ;)

Does he follow cricket? My H loves it, but never gets to see it over here. He's a member of the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), and goes there sometimes when he's home. He really misses it--so we might have to make a stop at Lord's if we get to London in June. :D Wouldn't it be wonderful if England was playing Australia there then? He'd think he'd died and gone to heaven. :) I have no idea if that is even a remote possibility, though, as Cricket makes as much sense to me as Greek does, so I don't follow it. :p

Anyway, I'm glad you're having a good weekend. Have you been to Kew Gardens? Is it worth the 12.25 quid admission? lol It sounds beautiful, and I've never been.

That is nice that your SIL comes over to cut your hair--very convenient. :)

Hi Kimberly

Hubby loves NUFC. Going back to my youth - it was mainly men who worked with computers. My first computer department had 50 men and about 3 other women when I first joined it. Things changed with time - but it meant that the majority of my friends from work were male. When I moved down south - I used to arrange to meet up with the lads for a drink if I was up visiting for a weekend. When I first met hubby - he was 22 - an age when people can be quite easily influenced. One of the lads asked if anyone fancied going to the football match - I laughed and said "no" and hubby whispered to me that he fancied going. I encouraged him to go along - and he fell in love with the whole idea of live football games and NUFC.

Hubby does not follow cricket. I think that it is a bit slow for a lot of people. My father used to like watching the test-matches on tv when I was young - and it always seemed a bit of a tedious way to spend a week.

My nephew is a professional junior sportsman - so rugby does get discussed quite regularly around the family. Naturally we are always proud and interested in his progress.

I think that I have been to Kew Gardens once - and frankly cannot remember it that well. Hubby says that he remembers when it used to cost a penny and that was an old penny (240 of them in a pound)! He says that if you like flowers it may well be worth the money. There are plenty of other places that you might like as much or better that might not cost as much.

I hope that you are having a good Sunday. It is pleasant weather here today. I didnt realise how warm it would get this morning and took off my sweatshirt from under my jacket about 2 miles into the morning walk. Thisafternoon we have been to Tescos and I wore the sweatshirt but no jacket - and I plan on wearing that for the afternoon laps.

Take care
Love
Margaret

I have a Liverpool FC t-shirt back from when they were doing well in the early 90s..lol. I'll be sure to wear it if I ever meet your H..lol. I like to antagonize. :D

I can understand being upset by England losing in the World Cup. I feel the same way when Mich loses the Ohio St game for the 4th yr in a row. :cuss:

:D

That's really neat about your nephew!

I see you're having some slight TOM scale fun, too. The joys of being female sometimes

H and I both like flowers and botanical gardens, but if we drop $120 at Wimbledon, I think we'll be skipping Kew..lol.

Thanks for visiting. I hope that Monday is going well for you.

Angel

Hubby didnt watch the football on Sunday - as you may have guessed he was playing with the computer quite a lot of the day. This meant that although I had a window open for the forum I actually hardly got a chance to do anything.

Hubby's brother likes Man U - there is a lot of it about!

Kimberly

I doubt that hubby would be too antagonised by you wearing a Liverpool shirt.

We were in Greece across the Summer of 2004 when Greece won the European Cup (and indeed the Olympics were on from Greece). The Greeks were particularly patriotic - to the extent that it was quite funny. There were a lot of television sets outside in the village and at all the bars. Every time that Greece scored a goal - people were firing their shotguns. This included the policeman with his gun. At the end of the game - he emptied his in the air! Then various people got in their cars and started driving round the village. Since you can walk everywhere in about 5 minutes - all these cars driving about looked so funny. Then they got the school buses out and loads of the younger people went up to Rhodes Town to gather at the harbour to celebrate. My friend got a phone call from her daughters (aged about 18 and 20 who had gone to Rhodes Town) to say - "we have gone to Athens to celebrate".

Although people get keen on England doing well - I doubt that people would react quite like that here. We caused our own little stir in Greece at that time by having an England flag (St George) outside our apartment. Such things may be commonplace in places like Faliraki where there are a lot of English tourists - but I can assure you that this is not the case in our village.

Yes - it looks like pretty much according to schedule - the scales have started going up. I very much doubt that I will see any new lows for a while now. The big question for me now is how much it will go up by (whether the new food plan will mean that it does not go up as much) and if it doesnt go up by so much - how quickly will I get back to my low weight.

Wimbledon is very expensive. That is a lot of money that you are looking at spending on tickets.

Hubby is sounding very positive on the idea of the Greek trip. He knows how much I want to go. I know that without my prompting he was doing quite a bit of searching for business class seat prices (he is still convinced that we need that size seats). This is a very good sign.

Take care
Love
Margaret
