OLUX'S Weight Loss Diary

Shandy - Thanks! I was bored last night so I sat around for a while and played on Photoshop. Haha.

Tonight has been so hard for me. I know I'm 21 now but I'm still such a big baby! My throat has been sore since yesterday but when I finally went to bed, the pain was UNBEARABLE. It just hurts so badly when I attempt to swallow. I know I probably have strept throat. :( On the up side, at least I'm at home so my mom can take care of me. I hate whenever I get sick and I'm away at college, it's the worst!

So basically it just hurts badly. As soon as the doctor's office is open, I'm going to make an appointment to go in and have them check it out. I guess I won't be eating a lot today. Hah. WATCH OUT TEAM 1. ;) No, but seriously, it hurts. AHH!
 
Thanks Shandy & Karl! HAha KARL, I must have gotten you sick from all the way over here in California. So contagious! Feel better. ;)

I went to see the doctor and the good news is that I do NOT have Strept Throat! The bad news is I don't get any medicine and I just have to tough it out until the soreness goes away. AHH! While I was there, I also made an appointment with a dermatologist and endocrinologist. The nurse had to draw a few capsules of blood to do tests and she totally MISSED MY VEIN the first few times she tried. OK, REALLY? I have such a low pain tolerance and this lady was just poking away at my arm. My arm is really sore now and my throat is just irritating me like no other.

OHH, ALSO! A few times this past week, if I did more than 20 minutes of cardio, the left side of my chest would start to hurt. I was really worried but my doctor said it's fine and that my body is just getting used to my workout routine. PHEEWW!

I've decided that I'm not working out today. I feel a little guilty but I'm just not feeling well. I've worked hard the other six days so I think I can talk myself out of feeling bad about not going. OHH ALSO, I weighed in at 166.2 at the doctor's office! The nurse had to do a double check because the last time I was there, I was 181. She was like, "WAIT..." And I said, "MM yeah, I've lost weight." :hurray:
 
You know, when you're sick your body needs rest. Dont' worry about skipping a workout day, it's good to have a rest day anyways. The body needs that every so often. I hope you get better soon!

I feel like I'm getting a cold as well. It's the stress and lack of sleep for me that's for sure. I just hope I don't get sick cause that would be bad for exams. On the other hand, I can call in sick and have extra studying time, lol.
 
I think this is going to be a good week! I've eaten SOOO HEALTHY today and I feel so energized after my workout!

I come from a really big family! My mom has 9 brothers and sisters and I have like 2138193 first cousins. We're really close but since I'm away at college, I only see them every few months now. Vietnamese New Year is coming up on the 26th of this month and I'll be with all of my family then. The last time I saw them over Christmas Break, I had lost some weight and was down to 175, however, it wasn't super noticeable. I'm hoping I can get down to/ near 160 by the time I see them. I want this SO BADLY. My family is so supportive and I don't want to let them down. *CROSSES FINGERS*

The next 1.5 weeks until then, I think I need to up my cardio a little and make sure I'm taking in good quality calories. Someone remind me, please? THANKS! :)

OH ALSO ALSO I've lost a few more pounds but I'm not going to reveal it until it's stable. BE EXCITED! :)

The gym today was kind of ridiculous. I got there and there were people in suits all over the place. I thought, "UMMM.. wait, is this the gym?" I guess it was the grand opening or something and there were reporters and cameramen there. SO AWKWARD. The cameraman took pictures of me while I was sweating on the elliptical. They also made all of us who were at the gym take a group photo. I laughingly said to the girl next to me "Wow, I would have worn makeup if I had known they were going to be taking pictures." The sad part is that I was totally serious. HAha. I'm NOT EXCITED to see these photos in the newspaper. :)

Besides from the mayhem, the gym was great! A guy came upto me and told me I had nice, toned legs. At first I thought it was creepy but whatever, beggers can't be choosers. Gotta take a compliment when it's given. He actually ended up helping me with some of the machines because I wasn't getting the results I wanted.

I'm really on track with my eating and workout for this week. I think I'll be able to hit 160 for sure before this month ends. YES! YES! YESSS!
 
Oh god, I wouldve yelled at the nurse. Rip the needle out of her hand and start poking her with it...

DAMN GIRL YOURE DOING GREAT! Youre definitely going to shock your family.

Oh and dont forget to up your cardio a little and take in good quality calories. :D

And that guy does sound pretty creepy... bet he followed you home in an unmarked van when you left...

Yeah, take that nurse! She's lost 20 pounds! I love family reunions when I've lost weight, too. Sometimes it's fun to be a little smug. Nice job at the gym! You didn't give the cameraman the finger? I would have. You're gonna have to post that picture, you know that, right?? Hope you are feeling better!
 
LUX! Grey's Anatomy! Yessssss. I'm sorry, but Denny has to go. He was okay for an episode or two, and then they started having sex, and now Denny wants to talk to Alex? Enough! I hope Christina and damaged army doctor work out! But above all, McSteamy needs to call me, right now. How I love that man. I hope you've already seen the episode, or I've ruined some of it, haha.
 
So I've been weighing myself the last few days and I am DEFINITELY down to 164! I was at 163.8 this morning but I know that's probably because I hadn't eaten lunch yet. I'm just so excited that the weight is melting off. YEAHHH, YEAHH! I'm going out to dinner with a friend tonight but I already looked up the menu items so I know exactly what I'm going to order! :) Way to be proactive!

I'm waiting for my salad to settle and then I'm off to the gym to do some cardio! I'm not trying to get a cramp.
 
Hey congrats on the 164! I do the same thing when I go down in weight, if I weigh myself a couple times and it's still there, then I know it's gone and not just a low fluctuation, lol.
 
THANKS CHRISTINA! Yeah, I always have to weigh myself a few times to make sure I'm actually at the weight and it's not just water or something. Haha. :)

The gym was good! I only got in 40 minutes of cardio so I'm going to head back there and do another half hour before I go out to dinner. I know, I'm gross. HAha. I think my friend will be OK with me being sweaty.

I forgot to mention something that just totally PUMPED me up earlier! I have an ADORABLE pair of jeans that are size 12. When I first got them a few months ago, they were tight and sometimes I would just wear a loose top so that I wouldn't have to button them. Today, they were LOOSE enough on me that I had to wear a belt! SOOOO NICEEEE. SIZE 12 NO MORE! I just need to push through the next 10-15 pounds so that I can drop down to 8/9. I also stopped by J CREW today and bought a blouse! Their blouses are form fitting and I used to have to buy XL but I tried on a L today and it fit! OK but seriously, goal for this coming week is to drop down to 160 by SATURDAY. Totally doable.

WOW!!!! You're ripping it up over here!!! Congrats on the loss, but even more for the boost in self esteem!!! Awesome news about the jeans and blouse!! Very well done!! :hurray: :)

sounds like you are doing great. COngratulations on the jeans and blouse, that is sooooo nice, better than a nice number on the scale in some ways.

gym twice in one day, now thats dedication!
