Older, Wiser, but still fat...

sorry about the tendonitis, i am having similar problems with my wrist/elbow....frustrating!

my exercise is for shit lately...even my spin classes have been cancelled. i am trying to find the most economical exercise classes but they are all so expensive and i just spent 115 bucks on spin shoes so i need someplace with cycling...

anyway..sorry to be a downer here in your journal

just say HELLO!!!

Im not ready to balance my derriere on an outdoor bike yet..lol
I will stick to the indoors...my goal is to eventually have a 'real' bike.

This comment deserves a wise ass comeback... but I just don't have the right one right now...

Seriously though, anything you ever wanna ask, shoot it to me.

spinning shoes = cycling shoes right? I mean other than weather, you can use them outdoors too ,right?

Don't injuries suck? You can come in here and rant, or whine or whatever. Just as long as you come in, its all good.

:grouphug: to both of youse

Karl- Way to go on all the exercise. And CONGRATULATIONS on crossing the 300 pound barrier! I'm sorry I've been away so I missed it!

Keep it up!

Hey Karl, hope you recover well from your injury! Congratulations on passing the big 3-Double-0 marker! Woot woot!!!

*does the skinny dance*

Your posts really make me want to buy a bike. I just had to cancel my gym membership because it was too expensive. WHY AM I SO POOR?!?!? :p

Later gator!

:gnorsi:

Is this the place all the injured people are gathering ? if so i will settle in for a while

well done on your challenge karl, and good work getting some workout in with your injury.

Might as well, round up all the gimps and keep us in one place, right?

Brandy, I know you've been all kinds of busy, its all good. I'm just gald you stopped in.
Changes, nice to see you again!
Maverick, good to have met you.
Trusylver, welcome in, as always!

Did another trail, I only have 2 more to complete the challenge. Talked to the girl at the school today. She has written the article/interview, and it should be out sometime next week I guess. I'll try and link it if I can.

Hit some basic lifts today, but the gym was nuts. I'm going to try and revamp my program similar to the stronglift 5x5 program, but we'll see how that goes. I don't physically have the strength to do some of the exercises involved, so... learning curve time.

PT on the ankle should begin next week.

Been in injury corner a lot this year, so will join you all too on Karls thread.

Karl just checking you out and all seems to be going well here, you never give up.

Have a good week, its defo winter now, dark morning, dark nights and less than 8 weeks to crimbo, can't bloody wait.

Welcome all to the cripple corner of Karl's diary! Changes, H1N1 counts just as long as you aren't contagious through cyberspace.

im not crippled... but i wanted to say hello!!!! Hope everyone who is "crippled" here feels better soon !!! hehe

My weekend...

We got a late invite to my ex wife's house for an open house thanking all of the people who helped them out last year. Her daughter has had health problems from birth. Every year they tell her she may not make it through the year. Immune system problems, partial kidney failure, birth defects, you name it.

She is now 21... She is a fighter, and a terrific person.

At any rate, didn't eat too badly, but didn't deny myself either.

Trick or treat, had some close friends stop by and hang out with us for dinner and the trick or treat. They were absolutely amazed at how many kids we get (beggars they called 'em ).

My wife made spinach and feta stuffed mushrooms with chicken breast that had been hammered out flat and rolled up with pesto.

Sunday I was a perfect angel on my diet well, pretty much anyway... might have been a leftover candy bar that met it's demise...

Hey Karl!
Sorry to hear about the injury, hopefully with some PT you'll be back to 100% soon.
Soooo good to hear about your wifes weight loss! Sorry I've been such a stranger to the forum...lots of personal/family stuff going on. Gotta go, love you lots!

thanks for allowing those of us with H1N1 to join your corner.... happy to say we seem to be on our way out (day 9 at home now - good god)

how neat that your relationship with your ex wife is so good you'd be invited to their open house.

that made me happy.

I'm glad to hear you got back on track the next day - great news.

and reminds me i can do this!

Today I did cardio only, finished off the last of the Expresso bike trails. I have now done all 30 of them and finished the trail challenge at school. This one was a bear, 18.3 miles, wicked elevation (resistance) changes. It took me 1:15 to finish it.

I'm hurting right now. Good old fashioned DOMS. Since my ankle problems, I really have been doing any lower body stuff to speak of. The squats from the 5x5 done on Monday, combined with the 2 cycling trails finished off over the last 2 days really cooked me. My quads are letting me know how displeased they are with me right now.

Imma poke my head in here and there tonight. It's also looking like I might have finally started moving in the right direction again. Looked like 295 on the scale today. I'll double check tomorrow, and if it's the same I'll move my ticker

Hey Cabbie,

I share your pain. It gets really hard to stay on top of eating since, lets face it, food is tasty.

Our stories have similarities. I mean, I dont ride an awesome bike or anything like that but weight management-wise, we are pretty similar.

At my best, I'd work out 5 times a week doing an hour heavy weight training with dumbbells and an hour cardio or interval training3-4 times per week. Some things came up and I had to deal with them. I was down to a steady 283 for about a year and now have gone back up to 296 after a few months of inactivity. Now Im trying to get going again, but with a bunch less tools to do so.

Anyway, keep up the good fight! All the best.

hey cabbilicious!!! In the 200's woot woot woot...go cabbie, go cabbie!!!

I am the same...damn! the same!! But I have upped my cardio again and still eating good...except for the underwear incident (falling off) I am doing good...

Hows your wife doing since her surgery??? She lookin hawter and hawter every day??

Did you give her free reign to buy a new wardrobe?

Hey Kare! Nice to see you! God does she look amazing! She came out of the dressing room at teh clothing store the other day with this look on her face like she wasn't sure.. "does this look good?"

After I picked my jaw back up off the floor, I told her we needed to go home so I could take the outfit off...
