Older, Wiser, but still fat...

Wow, Look at all the friends I got here! Including one cute li'l thang that I ain't seen in a bit! Glad to see you back Sara!

Brandy, T/G for the sun finally showing up. I have gone out and had the chance to do some real cycling finally. I'm currently averaging over 20 miles a day on my cycling days. I had a gorgeous ride from Hampton Beach up 1A to Portsmouth then back down. Coastal all the way looking at the waves on one side and the expensive homes on the other. That trip was 27 miles round trip.

I'm so jealous of that cycle ride! The scenery sounds spectacular. About the only thing I get on my rides is the smell of pig shit and bug bites ;)

LMFAO, nice!!!!!

There is an image I don't need...

I normally ride a rail trail here that is very nice too (sorry, not trying to make you jealous).

Hey Cabbie! Just thought I would jump on the bandwagon and check you out! Sounds like you have great spirit and I'm happy you and your wife can experience this journey in life together! Hope to see you around!

P.S. Love the pic of the motorcycle... do you have one?

Hi there, I'll have to come over and check you out also! Thanks for the compliments! I keep trying to keep it going the right way, but sometimes it backs up...

As far as the bike is concerned, that one is just a fantasy bike right now. Maybe when my kids are out of college I can afford a nice new Triumph Thunderbird, but for now I'll have to stick with mine. I have a Honda Shadow Spirit 1100 that keeps me on (motorized), two wheels. The rest of my two wheeling comes in the form of road cycling and mountain biking probably about 90%/10% mix respectively.

I'll assume Banshee Babe is because of a Yamaha Banshee 4 wheeler?

Hit my 7 day goal of 100 miles + in cycling today. Actually, it was done in 6 days technically, but I intend to take tomorrow as a rest day. Since last thursday I have cycled 113 miles (182 kilometers for all you metric folks). I reset my cycle computer on Monday this week also. As of right now I have 46.5 miles on it for this week. I'd like to hit 100 or better again. I'm trying to see if I can sort of keep a running trip odometer each week to track what I'm doing for mileage currently. I need to go over to the cycling thread I started and update there too :leaving:

Story of my life as well...

That would be so sick if you did! They are expensive little suckers!!

That's awesome! That is such a long time to wait for that beauty, but you are such a great parent to think of them first... :coolgleamA:

You are correct sir! I have an '06 White Banshee, the last year of the 2 strokes. I really like it because of the powerband, but I would love to have a 4 stroke because of the low end... hence, the Banshee is for the dunes and the RZR (new addition) is for mountains, Moab and such! My husband has an '05 Black Banshee and we love to race up our "Sand Moutain" out here. I always beat him but that's because I weigh 92 pounds less than him.

Hey i missed you so i decided to stop by!!! glad to see things are going better for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ive missed your silly posts. hehehe

Never gonna back off on the bike! It's one of the few exercises I actually enjoy!

Have made it to 72 miles on this week, should get to 100 or more by the end of the week. I'm going to try and keep that going for a while. I'm pushing my system and it is adapting correctly. I felt good today after finishing 25 miles, so it is time for me to push for some bigger number now.

I also took some preventive measures for future rides. I have brand new tires on my main set of wheels, and a spare set of wheels that have decent rubber on them set aside, just in case. Also ordered some new tires to make sure that I'm covered all around.

I'm a blessed person. My wife used to ask, years ago, "do you think we'll still have things to talk about when we get older?, will we still want to spend time with each other?"

Emphatically yes!!!

We have different interests sometimes. We see things differently sometimes. and, of course, we periodically argue, or end up venting our stresses at each other.

We also still hold hands. We snuggle on the couch. We randomly touch and kiss each other in the grocery store, the mall, the movie theater... the list goes on. And :D sometimes we just can't keep our hands off each other :reddevil:

okay, maybe more than just sometimes... maybe a lot...

We'll be married for 22 years this November. Pretty close to half of my life.

I consider it time well spent. I wanna spend a lot more of it too. So I'm doing this whole weight loss/ get healthy thing for a perfectly selfish reason. I wanna be around 5, 10, 20, 30, who knows, maybe 50 years from now to do the same thing.

Hold hands, touch, kiss, snuggle... and yeah, that too, for as long as we can both still do "that" :D

Melissa, 4.5 years is longer than a lot of marriages last these days. We were pretty young when we got together too. Actually, my daughter will be 22 before our 22nd anniversary, so we know how that goes :biggrinjester: oops...

So we have been together since we were both 21. Funny story about how we met too, but not in this post, it would take to long to explain.

I will make at least 100 miles this week on the bicycle. Im at just shy of 90 right now, and should have good weather for enough of the day to get another 20 or more done. Looks like the weather for next week is all going to be around 80°F give or take so I should have another solid week. I also ordered some cool new tires for my bike so my little mechanical gremlins should be held at bay. I'm gonna give the bicycle some love this weekend and get it all cleaned up and lubed to make sure it stays my fitness buddy...
